Detwiler Fenton reportedly involved in criminal case over BlackBerry sales information

Back in April of 2013, research firm Detwiler Fenton claimed that Z10 devices were being returned in unusually high numbers, which caused BlackBerry stock to drop nearly 8%. At the time, the claim sounded rather crazy because it essentially made it look as though returns were exceeding sales.

BlackBerry understandably took issue with the claims and stated they were absolutely false and sought a US and Canadian review of the claims through Securities and Exchange Commission and Ontario Securities Commission and now it appears as though they might be seeing some justice on the matter according to a new report from the Boston Business Journal.

We are only days away from the official start of MWC 2015 and Archos has already unveiled a new batch of phones running Android 4.4 KitKat. The 52 Platinum, 59 Xenon, and 62 Xenon are the handsets being marketed as multimedia-friendly with quad-core processors.

The designs of the 52 Platinum, 59 Xenon, and 62 Xenon may differ but the specifications are relatively the same. The display sizes start at 5.25 inches and climbs to 6.27 inches with the 62 Xenon and all of them have 1280×720 resolution. Each has an 8MP rear camera, but only the 62 Xenon trades the 2MP front camera for a 5MP lens. Archos went with the MediaTek Mt6582 processor with 1GB of RAM to power all of them. Internal storage is set at 8GB with more when a microSD card is inserted.

Archos bundled dedicated media-related applications to ensure a seamless experience when viewing photos, watching videos, and playing games.

Pricing is as follows: 59 Xenon ($145); 52 Platinum ($158); 62 Xenon ($170)

The fourth handset announced is the 50 Oxygen Plus which Archos describes as “combining ergonomic design, performance and power for an affordable price.” At around $157, the 50 Oxygen Plus measures 7.2mm thin while packing an octa-core processor. There is a 5-inch display, 8MP / 5MP cameras, and 16GB of storage (with a microSD card slot).

This version of the 50 Oxygen Plus features only a 3G connection; however, Archos says an LTE model with Android 5.0 Lollipop is coming in June.
