Bing correctly predicts most of the winners at this year’s Oscars
Following the Super Bowl, Grammy and Cricket World Cup predictions, the Bing team announced predictions for this year’s Oscars last week. With the awards ceremony coming to a close, let’s take a look at how the search engine fared.
Art exhibit lets you draw on a 3D self-portrait
Most self-portraits are, by definition, solo affairs. However, artists Alon Chitayat and Rosalie Yu are blurring those lines a bit. Their Skin Deep art installation lets you draw on 3D-scanned models of the creators, giving their self-portraits your own creative spin. You don’t even need any special tools — all you do is doodle on specially marked paper, and webcams translate the relevant sections to textures. While you sadly won’t have an easy time trying Skin Deep yourself (it was made as part of New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program), it’s easy to see the underlying concept applying elsewhere. You could see games where players personalize their characters, or 3D painting programs where real-world art adds some flair to digital masterpieces.

LG’s new midrange smartphones are made for selfie sticks
LG’s already said it’s bringing a new wearable to MWC, but it’s also got a shoebox full of phones to showcase too. Like previous MWCs, the phone company has transplanted features from its flagship smartphone to models with smaller screens… and price tags. The biggest of the four new midrange phones, called the Magna, has a 5-inch display and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, alongside an 8-megapixel on the back. LG’s even bought those back-of-phone buttons to these new models, barring the smallest 4-inch LG Joy. We’ve summarized the rest of the family after the break, but in an arguably depressing sign of the times, LG’s also tweaked the sensitivity of its gesture recognition to incorporate selfie stick users. You can’t stop the selfie. Unless you ban them.

T-Mobile gives us the best Samsung Galaxy S6 teaser yet
A pre-release e-mail signup page usually is only good for spam. But T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S6 pre-release page give us perhaps our clearest look at the next big thing.
Our favorite headphones for iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Mac
We often get asked what we’re using, be it devices, apps, or accessories. Ever since Apple bought Beats, we’ve increasingly been asked what headphones we’re using. Given that there are a number of secret headset shortcuts for controlling the iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Mac as well, that should come as no surprise.
So, we rounded up the staff here at iMore and enlisted several of our friends from Mobile Nations and put together this list of our headphone favorites!
Bose QC20i
Pretty much everyone agrees that, if you’re a frequent flier, the Bose QuietComfort 20i Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones are an absolute must have. They’re comfortable and the active noise cancelation functionality is amazing. (These are also The Wirecutter‘s picks.)

Logitech Ultimate Ears 600vi
Rene Ritchie uses the Logitech Ultimate Ears 600vi for one simple reason — they have a clip on the cord and that means they’re less likely to get pulled out of your ears by simple gravity, either while podcasting or while traveling.

Razer Kraken PRO
Peter Cohen finds the Razer Kraken PRO to be comfortable and the over-the-ear cups and a retractable microphone let you go out in public without looking like you’ve just escaped from mission control.

Galaxy S6 teaser shows up on T-Mobile website
Samsung has been releasing teasers surrounding their next flagship device, the Galaxy S6, on their official Twitter account for just over a week now. While they hint at the device, no clear image has been shown. T-Mobile didn’t want Samsung to have all the fun teasing the next Samsung device, so they decided to join in.
Today, a pre-registration page quietly appeared on T-Mobile’s website showing off what is expected to be the Galaxy S6 Edge with the slogan “Six Appeal.” It is one of the most clear looks we have gotten at the device that will sport a three-sided display. Below the image it states “The Next Big Thing is Almost Here.”
The Galaxy S6 Edge in the image shows off a re-positioned lock button and a metal construction. Previously it was thought that the S6 Edge would be made of different materials.
The image is also accompanied by a pre-registration form to notify customers when the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will be available. T-Mobile wants users to return to the page on March 1st after the expected debut of the devices at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Moto X Soak Test Invites Released to Verizon and AT&T Customers

If you currently own a Moto X 2nd Gen, you may be eligible for a soak test for the new Android update! Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, Lollipop is the latest Android version, and if you’re the adventurous type, it may be coming to you Moto X. All you need to do to participate in the soak test is join the Motorola Feedback Network and promise to not disclose information about the software being tested.
Soak Tests tend to be risky, due to their preliminary nature. There is always a chance that your phone may become bricked or nonfunctional, or just be buggy. However, if that doesn’t defer your pioneer spirit, head over to Motorola’s website and sign yourself up, and as long as you’re on Verizon or AT&T, you can expect to get a notification and a new OS to test.
The Moto G 2nd Gen will be seeing a soak test soon as well, but due to the older chip in the Moto X 1st Gen, it won’t be receiving a test for a while.
