Relive the classic game of Pong with Soccer Pong
I know some of our younger readers may not have heard of Pong. It was introduced in 1972, and it was the Pac-Man of that era. It was the simplest of simple in terms of game play and graphics, but we couldn’t get enough of it.
For those of you that are old enough to remember, it’s time to relive those memories with a new game called Soccer Pong. If you don’t remember, that’s okay, because you can relive your parent’s memories and wonder how we made it through life without Call of Duty.
Soccer Pong plays just like the classic, except it takes place on a soccer (or football) field, giving it a more updated look. OriginSoftware also added some modern day elements such as the ability to put spin on the ball as well as play against others from around the world (Beta). That’s something we never imagined back in the 70s.
Another cool feature is the ability to upgrade your paddle. Paddles are rated by size, speed, and the ability to put a greater amount of spin on the ball. You know the drill……you will earn coins as you play that can be redeemed for better paddles, or you can purchase coins with your hard earned money.
Soccer Pong is the perfect game for those of you that love retro and just don’t have a lot of time for games. You can play matches against the computer at easy, medium, or hard, as well as play against a friend, either with you or online. The online version is in Beta for the moment.
Soccer Pong is free with in-app purchases in case you want to buy more coins, but trust me, this game will provide a lot of fun without the need to drop any change.
