HTC plans to release “something huge” soon
HTC UK confirmed on its Twitter earlier this month that a new HTC One, which we expect to be called HTC One M9, will be released on March 1. Now, HTC US is getting in on the action by teasing that “something huge” is coming soon.
Android Central speculates this is probably a reference to a larger, phablet-sized version of the One M9. A leak of HTC’s interest in releasing two versions of the device supports this claim, but, of course, this has not been confirmed.
That’s all that is known at the moment, but March and Mobile World Congress are less than two weeks away. We just need to wait a little longer to see what this “something” is.

Formula E adds extra race to season climax at London’s Battersea Park
The UK’s Donington Park racetrack was chosen as the official home of Formula E last year, so it was only fitting that the final race of the inaugural championship be held in Blighty, too. The plan has always been to close out the season in London, but you can’t exactly turn part of the capital into a racing circuit without cutting through reams of red tape. The initial proposal to transform Battersea Park into a makeshift track was approved late last year, but race organisers can breath a further sigh of relief as full planning permission has now been granted by Wandsworth Council. This was essential, as there would be no ePrix without the temporary facilities required for race teams and spectators alike. The Battersea Park racetrack — the layout of which is yet to be finalised — won’t host just one event, though, as the FIA has also announced the London leg will become a double-header, with separate races being held on June 27th and 28th.
The first all-electric Formula E season kicked off in spectacular fashion in Beijing, China last year, and since then other races have been held on city-street circuits in Malaysia, Uruguay and Argentina. And there are several more in the calendar before the final two races at Battersea Park, which will not only mark the end of the championship, but will also be the last time all teams compete in identical Spark-Renault vehicles. You see, all participants received a couple of these stock EVs for the first season, so as to establish a level playing-field. For the next championship, however, teams are allowed to modify their vehicles, using different batteries and motors to hopefully give them an edge over their competition. The teams are under strict instructions not to focus on improving aerodynamics and the like, though, as that would defeat one of the main aims of Formula E: to develop new technologies that can quickly trickle down to consumer vehicles.

Geeksphone is developing a Health & Fitness Tracker that can monitor your Sex life
Could 2015 be the year of the wearable? Geeksphone certainly hopes so, with its announcement that it is developing a health and fitness tracker called GeeksMe. Aside from having the usual features of a fitness tracker, the GeeksMe wearable can also monitor your sexual performance. Yes, you read that correctly.
Let’s deal with the hardware first, and here we have a bracelet type of device with a round, monochrome OLED display that has 12 bi-colour LEDs around it. The frame of the device is made out of aluminium and the band is said to be ergonomic with premium finishes. Other than that, not much is known about the internals as it is still in development.
On to the nitty-gritty, and Geeksphone says that the fitness wearable will be able to do all the usual fitness tracker functions such as counting steps, monitoring distance walked/ran, how many calories have been burned, as well as sleep monitoring. This data can be synchronised to your mobile device as well as being accessible via the PC.
In an effort to make the device smarter, the GeeksMe tracker will allow alarms and reminders to be displayed, as well as notifying you of calls and messages when linked to your smartphone. All standard stuff so far. Like other fitness trackers, the GeeksMe device will link to a smartphone via Bluetooth, accessing GPS and other information added manually by the user.
Where the GeeksMe tracker differs from its competitors is the ability to function as a sex tracker. This function needs to be manually activated (remember to get your partners consent first). Rather than recording what you are doing (stay with me), the device will monitor how much effort you are putting into the activity and the duration of said activity.
Ángel Sánchez Díaz, the Director of Innovation for the GeeksMe device says that
“…once it’s activated (it) will measure things like number of times a day/week, duration, calories burned, and other very useful information based on different algorithms we are developing. It will help users to have a healthier lifestyle, monitoring different values and statistics when practicing sex.”
As to pricing, the GeeksMe health, fitness and sex tracking bracelet should come in cheaper than its Top Ten competitors. So there you have it, if you have been searching for a fitness tracker that can also monitor your love life, the GeeksMe tracker should become available to purchase by July this year.

Infographic: How Communication Technology on Samsung’s Mobile Phones has evolved
As time moves on, so does the technology that our mobile phones use. To illustrate this, Samsung has produced a great little infographic showing the progress it has made; from it’s very first mobile phone in 1988 that used the 1G network to the release of the Galaxy note 4 in 2014 with its high-speed connectivity courtesy of LTE networks.
Remember the excitement that 3G first brought when it was released giving us the ability to video chat via our smartphones? It was followed by the current 4G standard that we now take for granted, watching high-definition content while we are out and about. The next big leap is 5G which is thought to become available closer to 2020, with quite a few tech companies all duking it out in an effort to be the first to announce its release.

Turn your G Watch R into a make-shift G Watch Urbane with a Dremel tool
Earlier this week, LG took the wraps off the G Watch Urbane. It’s an Android Wear watch poised to take on the Apple iWatch that offers a premium watch for those who aren’t impressed with the current crop of watches. As it stands, there isn’t word on pricing and availability but we’re sure to find that out next week at MWC. Even so, there are some that don’t want to wait for watch. Enter the do-it-yourselfers.
Anthony B, the man who was brave enough to use sandpaper to achieve a close facsimile of the premium G Watch Urbane the other day, has released a video for others to use as reference if they want to do it themselves. This time, rather than worry about sore fingers from using sandpaper, Anthony B is using a Dremel tool to achieve the same results. However, unlike using sandpaper, the Dremel (and a little polish) helps him give the G Watch R a polished metal look.
That said, if you have no problem taking a Dremel tool to a multi-hundred dollar piece of hardware, then we have the video from Anthony B for you below. It should be noted that if you take matters into your own hands then you’re responsible for the results. Anthony B had great results so with a little hard work and some precision, you’ll have a nice looking stainless steel G Watch R that rivals the new premium watch.
