Grab Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath for 33% off in the Play Store

Oddworld-Strangers-Wrath-Copertina

If you’re a fan of the popular Oddworld series but aren’t so keen on the price, listen up. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is currently being offered for $3.99 in the Google Play Store for a limited time. Considering the game is usually sold for $5.99, a 33% off discount may warrant a second thought on buying the game. The discount will only be available for a limited time, so be sure to grab the game quickly if you’re interested.

For those unfamiliar with the game, you play as a bounty hunter called Stranger who hunts down outlaws in a Western-themed wasteland called Mudos. You’ll meet a ton of trash-talking characters in the game as you explore towns, forests and industrial facilities. Stranger’s Wrath also gives you the option of either playing as a first-person shooter or a third-person platformer.

Overall, the game is really fun and offers a great story line that will keep you playing for hours. Personally, I’d recommend the game at it’s normal price tag for $5.99. Though it’s not the most appealing discount, you may want to reconsider buying the game if you haven’t yet.

Head to the Play Store link below to download Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath.

Instagram wants you to help beta test their Android app

The title almost sounds silly really, since there is already an Instagram app for Android. The reality is many current apps offer beta testing versions that will bring new features, designs and refreshes to the main stream app with the help of users. Rather than push an update that they “think” is good and works […]

Microsoft Demos Free Windows 10 Update, Debuts New ‘Project Spartan’ Web Browser

In the fall of 2014, Microsoft announced its newest operating system, Windows 10, and gave a brief preview of the upcoming software, which is designed to incorporate elements of both Windows 8 and Windows 7, in an attempt to make it more appealing to users who have thus far not upgraded to Windows 8.

Today, Microsoft is holding an official unveiling of Windows 10, sharing new details on the OS and demonstrating how it works across a range of devices. With Windows 10, Microsoft is hoping to cut down on operating system fragmentation with one unified platform thats designed to run on PCs, tablets, phones, and more.

Microsoft’s tagline for Windows 10 is “More personal computing,” a philosophy that’s evidenced in its three design guidelines that it used when developing the software: mobility of experience, trust, and natural interaction, through a range of different input options from mice and keyboards to pens and simple touch.

crossplatform
Windows 10 somewhat mirrors Apple’s efforts to unify iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite by creating a deep level of integration with features like Continuity, because Microsoft promises a unified experience and platform integration that will make it easy to put one device down and continue where you left off on another device.

In an effort to get its users to adopt Windows 10, Microsoft is planning to distribute Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users at no cost for the first year, which is an unprecedented move for the Washington-based company. Unlike Apple, Microsoft has never offered Windows for free, but Apple’s success getting the majority of its users on the same operating system has likely inspired Microsoft to make the same effort.

Once a device is upgraded to Windows 10, Microsoft plans to keep the operating system current for the lifetime of the device. With a unified operating system, developers can target every single Windows device, and Microsoft is planning for long term support.

“Windows 10 is so much more than the latest version of Windows,” said Microsoft VP of Operating Systems Terry Myerson. “Windows is turning into a service that will run across every device.”

The news organization has just announced a new update to both Android and iOS applications that brings a redesigned look and a slew of new customization options. Here are all of the new features that will be available in the BBC News update:

  • A wider range of content than the previous app – including for the first time, local news content
  • Features and expert journalism from around the globe
  • World class imagery and video from the stories that matter to you
  • The ability to follow topics , from Ebola to Women’s rights, from Arts and Entertainment to Local News
  • Customise your news experience with the My News section – bringing all the topics you’re interested in to one place
  • Choose to follow topics from either within an article or in a list of suggested topics based on what you’ve read or where you are
  • Follow multiple topics to create a personalised view of BBC News and, when relevant, share the content via a wide range of sharing tools
  • Live – instant access to the BBC News channel on-the-go with just one click
  • Catch-up highlights – from the stories you’ve missed
  • Video features – with in-depth video articles, whenever you want them
  • From global events, to national and regional news, and information about your local area, you can choose what you want, when you want it
  • Full location feature – surfacing news based on where you are at that moment in time
  • Welsh news content – that you can find and follow from the touch of a button

BBC plans to roll out the updates to the app in the UK over the next few days, and global updates will be available in the coming months. In addition to the app overhaul, the news network is also bringing the new redesign to BBC’s homepage on the web.
