The All New HTC One leak was real, HTC’s Jeff Gordon ominously warns Leaker
Earlier today, we reported that a 12-minute walkthrough video of the All New HTC One had been leaked out, the source of which was apparently a young man named Roshan Jamkatel. Well, Jamkatel’s life may be about to get a bit more complicated as HTC‘s Senior Global Online Communications Manager, Jeff Gordon, has clearly gotten wind of the video and issued an ominous warning over Twitter, all but confirming the validity of the All New HTC One leak.
After a tweet that could suggest legal action by HTC (“It’s not going to be a good week for you, my friend”), Jamkatel attempted to play his video off as a fake, however to no avail; Gordon told the young man that they would “be in touch”, citing that they had the IMEI number of the device in question, despite Jamkatel’s best efforts to hide it during the video. The Twitter conversation has since been deleted from Jamkatel’s account, as has the original video on YouTube.
This probably won’t be the last leak of the All New HTC One we see before it is announced on March 25th, but it goes to show that corporations will flex their muscle when a leak goes too far; maybe Sony can take a leaf out of HTC’s book.

Apple Announces ‘CarPlay’ iOS Vehicle Integration Feature
As indicated last week, Apple today announced its CarPlay iOS vehicle integration feature at the Geneva International Motor Show, which allows an iPhone to take over the in-dash display of a car, providing access to aspects such as navigation, phone functions, messages, and music.
CarPlay will be accessible this week with vehicles from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, while other manufacturers such as BMW Group, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota will receive the update later.
“CarPlay has been designed from the ground up to provide drivers with an incredible experience using their iPhone in the car,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of iPhone and iOS Product Marketing. “iPhone users always want their content at their fingertips and CarPlay lets drivers use their iPhone in the car with minimized distraction. We have an amazing lineup of auto partners rolling out CarPlay, and we’re thrilled it will make its debut this week in Geneva.”
The feature was originally named iOS in the Car and was revealed last year at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). While Apple executives went on record to say that the functionality was “very important to the company” and is an essential “part of the ecosystem,” reports earlier this year stated that CarPlay was plagued by development issues. However, a video of the feature surfaced last month, and showed support for multiple resolutions of external displays, touch input and hardware controls, and voice input.
CarPlay will be available as an update to iOS 7 and works with Lighting-enabled iPhones including the iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5.

Apple announces CarPlay: in-vehicle voice and touch access to notifications, maps and music
Apple has officially announced CarPlay, its new in-car interface that’ll be compatible with new Ferrari, Mercedes and Volvo cars unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show this week. Designed “from the ground up” to bridge the gap between your iPhone and your auto, it will offer touch and Siri-based voice navigation of your smartphone services, through contacts and voicemail, through to notifications, map directions and music cueing — it will even support the likes of Spotify and iHeartRadio from launch too. The service will launch as an iOS update for Lightning-enabled iPhones (that’s version 5 and up), with CarPlay-compatible vehicles launching later this year. And if any of the above aren’t your preferred automate, Apple says that you can expect compatible cars from BMW, Ford, General Motors, Honda,Hyundai, Toyota and several more in the near future.

Imo drops support for third-party chat networks to focus on its own
Imo has long served as a chat network aggregator, putting all your conversations in one place. However, the company believes that this strategy has led to compromises that hold back its own messaging efforts. To sharpen its focus, it’s dropping support for all third-party services. The firm will start turning off the lights on March 3rd, and you’ll have until March 7th to download your chat history from outside platforms. Imo argues that the narrower scope will help it create the “fastest and most reliable” communication service on the planet. The company may need to act quickly on that goal if it wants to keep and grow its fan base — we can’t imagine that many users are happy with Imo losing one of its most appealing features.

Samsung debuts its first Galaxy S5 ad during the Oscars and turns sponsorship dollars into all-star selfies
In case you hadn’t heard, Samsung’s newest phone is coming. At the Oscars, the Galaxy S5 just got a huge shot of publicity, both in a 30-second ad segment and the not-so-casual ceremony presence of its big bro, the Note 3, throughout the awards. We hope you like Hollywood stars and selfies, because Ellen’s going to be tweeting a whole lot of them. That’s your sponsorship dollars at work, Samsung, even if DeGeneres apparently switched back to an iPhone backstage.

[VIDEO] The All New HTC One gets a 12-minute walkthrough Video
It was only yesterday when we got our latest leak regarding the All New HTC One, HTC’s yet-to-be announced flagship smartphone, yet it has already been one-upped, and what a one-up it is. Today, we get a 12-minute walkthrough video of the device thanks to GadgetReviews who has somehow gotten hold of what looks like a pre-retail version of the device, label and all (the original video has been taken down but luckily someone else uploaded the video too). Check it out:
The device in the video matches most of the leaks we have been seeing about the previously codenamed HTC M8 showing some crucial differences to the current HTC One which are pointed out in the video. It’s not the most thorough video, but this is definitely the best look we’ve had of the device so far including the device getting used. With over 3 weeks left before the March 25th event to announce the device, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the All New HTC One more than a few more times in videos like this.

Another HTC flagship leak reveals microSD slot, brushed metal finish (video)
Storage expansion went out of fashion over the last two years. Fortunate, then, for those of us wanting to take our music / audio book / photo collection everywhere, that HTC’s upgraded One will see a return to microSD storage on its flagship series. Against trend, the new One also looks like it’ll have an identical footprint to last year’s model. In a lengthy video leak from GadgetReviews — now down, but mirrored elsewhere — we get to see that unibody build from a few more angles (including a closer look at that brushed finish) and catch some few software tweaks to the Blinkfeed news stream (another swipe to the left apparently opens up more options). However, what does that secondary camera actually do? We’re getting increasingly impatient about that March 25th reveal date.
