[GIVEAWAY] Jumper Card Goes Live on IndieGoGo; We Have 5 to Be Shipped Out!!

by John_A

Normally we wouldn’t run two giveaways in the same week, but we just couldn’t help ourselves this week. Hopefully many of you have already gone and entered our Gaiam cork case and wood earbud giveaway that went up yesterday. If not, go do it now and then come back and enter to win the Jumper Card too.

Usually you have to kick some cash out to back the project before you can get your hands on one. This time around we thought it would make a little more sense to help push them along by getting some out to our readers so they could show them off and share the campaign around. It certainly is a bit easier to recommend backing a project if you have one in your hands already, right? We certainly think so. We even gave you guys a little teaser image a few weeks back to see how interested you guys might be. It generated a little buzz, but we weren’t at liberty to do much else then, now we can get down to business on these little guys.

What is the Jumper Card?

There is a simple answer to this. It is another credit card sized charge and sync cable for your device. However, the Jumper Card has some distinct differences as compared to ones like the Nomad Charge Card. Rather than accommodating just one charging adaptor, the Jumper Card offers all three major plugs in one universal house shaped tip which clips into place inside the card.

Obviously the primary function of the Jumper Card is to give you a all-in-one style charge and sync cable in your pocket, it is just .25 inches thick. The JC does a little bit more than that though. On the side of the card you will notice a switch.

This switch does two things.

1.) Turns the dual LED lights on to use it as an emergency flashlight.

Jumper Card Credit Card sized data sync and charging cable for Android and iOSYes, this little pocketable Jumper Card lives up to its name and offers you some physical power on the go just in case of an emergency. It definitely won’t give you a substantial amount of charge, but it isn’t supposed too. Rather, it is there in case your phone is dying, or almost dead, and you need just a little boost and have nothing else available to charge.

Personal testing of the pre-production units was good. It didn’t kick my Xperia Z into charge mode off the built-in battery though. It kicked on the iPOD, the iFrogz, the Yoga8 tablet from Lenovo and my wife’s HTC One S. I assume this is due to the output of the battery itself. If you have a higher end device, you might not be able to use the 480mAh battery side of things. That doesn’t detract from it having a dual LED light and a dual function sync/charging cable readily at your finger tips.

It would be great if you took some time out of your busy day to share the campaign with your friends, but it isn’t a requirement to enter to win one.

To enter: Tell us, and Jumper Card, how this little accessory would have been a life saver to you in the past down in the comments. If you happen to also become a backer for the Jumper Card in some fashion during this giveaway, you will gain a second entry into the random drawing. Assuming we can cross reference your name and email on the campaign page in the comments section.

*Contest terms: Leaving a comment give us permission to contact you for shipping information to pass along to the Jumper Card team for shipping. The contest will run from Tuesday February 4th – Monday February 10th at 5 pm PST.
