Runtastic ‘Ups the Ante’ with Flagship App as Company Reaches 70 Million Downloads
New Hydration Feature Helps Users Make Informed Decisions with Post-Activity Insight
San Francisco, CA – March 27, 2014 – Today Runtastic – an innovative suite of apps, products and services that track and manage health and fitness data to motivate individuals to get in shape, stay healthy and improve overall fitness – announced a brand new version of their flagship app, Runtastic. Over the past year, the award-winning app has undergone a complete transformation, incorporating user feedback, expert knowledge and industry trends. The result is a revamped design and user experience, as well as new features and improved functions. This announcement comes as the company surpasses 70 million downloads worldwide.
“It’s impossible to make progress by standing still or becoming complacent,” says Florian Gschwandtner, CEO of Runtastic. “We’re confident that the new Runtastic app will help inspire and enable our users to continue on their health and fitness journeys with renewed focus, motivation and passion.”
Fresh Design & Enhanced Experience
Runtastic 5.0 boasts a clean, modern design that provides users with a more polished and engaging experience. Screens and navigation options can be easily customized to meet users’ personal preferences, and state-of-the-art technology allows data to sync seamlessly and effortlessly between the Runtastic app and users’ personal Runtastic.com accounts. The app has also been enhanced to run consistently across multiple platforms, while simultaneously utilizing and capitalizing on each operating system’s unique functions and characteristics.
New Feature to Keep You Hydrated
Hydration is a key component of staying healthy and becoming fit. That’s why a new feature in the Runtastic app takes into account users’ activity details, personal stats, local weather conditions and more to provide a post-activity hydration suggestion. In the past, when a Runtastic user finished an activity, they would only have the opportunity to input activity details. While this ever-popular functionality is still present and useful, the hydration feature takes tracking to the next level by offering an instantaneous hydration recommendation based on user-specific data.
“We need to continue moving beyond simply tracking and aggregating data,” says Gschwandtner. “The hydration feature is one great example of how we can coach users and help them make a healthy, informed decision, at precisely the right moment, using their unique, personal data.”
New & Improved Features
For the first time, Runtastic Training Plans are available on Android devices and can be purchased either within the Runtastic app or on Runtastic.com. Existing elements of Runtastic have also been fully-optimized and several features that were previously only available in the PRO version of the app, such as the Music Player and LIVE Tracking & Cheering, are now available for free. These user favorites motivate Runtastics to engage with one another, share their activity with their social networks and ultimately achieve more advanced health and fitness accomplishments.

Philips’ 2014 4K TVs include an Android-powered model and smaller sets
Philips’ 4K TVs last year were on the large side, but it’s following up in 2014 with smaller models — including one with a few tricks up its sleeve. The company’s new 55-inch 8809 series set mates the extra-high resolution with Android, giving you both Google Play apps as well as access to your Dropbox content. It’s also a capable set whether or not you like the mobile OS, with a 1GHz refresh rate and Ambilight illumination that plays nicely with both games and Hue lights. There are also 48- and 55-inch 1080p sets running Android (the 8109 and 8209 series), and you can pick up the 7809 series (pictured here) in 42-, 49- and 55-inch flavors if you’re comfortable using a 4K set without Google underpinnings. All of the new 7000 and 8000 series TVs should be available in Europe and Russia in the second quarter of the year, although the Android variants aren’t expected to reach the UK. Pricing isn’t available at this stage, but we’d expect these screens to be more affordable than Philips’ 65- and 84-inch behemoths.

Kim Dotcom gets into politics with launch of an ‘Internet Party’ in New Zealand
While he’s still considered to be a dangerous internet pirate by the world’s law enforcement agencies, Kit Dotcom is using his notoriety to branch off into politics. With the emphatic tagline “this is going to be awesome,” the giant German today launched the Internet Party, promising faster and cheaper internet, new high-tech jobs and increased privacy for all New Zealanders. Dotcom hopes to become a prominent political figure ahead of the country’s September general election, all the while US authorities fight to extradite him to face piracy charges linked to the now defunct file-sharing service Megaupload.
Following the flashy raid on Dotcom’s New Zealand mansion in 2012, the internet mogul focused on launching a new cloud storage service, Mega, which is set to go public later this year. By recruiting through the party’s website and mobile apps (with a $0.99 membership fee for three years), Dotcom hopes to sign up 500 members in order to register with New Zealand’s electoral commission and then gain a 5 percent share in the opinion polls in September’s elections. If it doesn’t reach the target, Dotcom has said previously that he may close the party and move on.

Cyberbullying – a huge threat
If your children old enough to surf on the Internet, you are probably worried and fearful about their safety. Everybody knows that there are many traps and deceptions on the web. Perverts like pedophiles and exhibitionists, scammers who will swindle our passwords, accounts numbers etc., dangerous Forums (for example promoting anorexia and bulimia, encourage prostitution or gambling, content incitement to commit a crime, encouraging to commit suicide and much more), computer viruses, porn sites – these are the most known.
Why use Parental Controls Software?
Did you know that most of all kids had less than 11 years old, when they encountered their first porn site? Young children are curious and trusting. Children innocently and easily get into trouble online without being aware of the consequences. What should we do? Well, at first we should warn our kids against all these dangers waiting for them on the Internet. It is very important to explain them that on the Web we have no certainty about identity and intentions of strangers that we might meet there. What should be the second step? Well, let’s be honest – most of us have no time to monitor our kids’ every keystroke and click during their online activity, so I advise you to find professional and multitasking software recommended by the parents or specialists on the thematic forums. We have a wide choice on the market, so it is important, to select the right one. We all say that safety of our children is priceless, but do not worry – you do not have to spend all your savings for this tool. The prices are reasonable. I think that everyone can afford to buy a parental control software.
Variety of Parental Control Software
Providers of this kind of software offer a number of packages and types. We can choose from basic software like Internet Filters that we can install on our PCs or laptops to those which are dedicated to monitor the most popular social media like Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, LinkedIn. You can see exactly which on social networks your children have accounts, and you will be alerted when they will try sign up on new sites. Some of the software monitors the language used on your child’s social networking accounts (in order to identify harmful language and online threats such as cyberbullying, cyber-stalking, and grooming), the time which your children spend on browsing, the photos and videos they are publishing online and much more. Moreover, you will be even able to set time limits on the Internet or the computer, at which they would be available to use. No more asking to do the homework stop surfing on the Web or playing video games. I think that’s quite convenient.
You can also receive daily or weekly reports about all of your child’s activities on their social network accounts.
Summary
Our children should have a carefree and lovely childhood whit no bad memories, so it is indisputable, that we should protect them against these horrible things. For instance a sexual harassment do not mutilates the body but leaves scars in the psyche of the young person. Think about future of your children. Let them enjoy their adventure with first computer and surfing the web.

How to Choose a Loan Processing Software
As any financial institution will tell you, it is important to consider both the time and the effort that is associated with processing any loan. In today’s electronically connected world, there are a wide variety of software solutions available to those who process loans in order to make it more convenient and to reduce the risks that are associated with the process. The advancement of technology has helped humans process data more efficiently and effectively, so it’s a good investment to use software solutions. Choosing loan processing software can be difficult, but if you consider the following options, it can help to narrow your choices considerably.
One of the most important things to consider in loan processing software is where the software will be located (Source: LoanLogics). Many financial institutions are turning away from hosting their own software, which can require a significant amount of technical assistance, as well as the hardware that is necessary to run it. For example, a person using a seamless tool to monitor their finances will help them organize their data and find needed information faster. Essential information can be gathered instantly without searching different database. Using the right application service provider (ASP) can help to reduce this issue. When using an ASP, it can help to limit the technical issues associated with operating the software while still allowing you the control over your own database.
A similar solution comes in the form of cloud loan processing. This may not only be of benefit to the financial institution, it can also be of benefit to the customer. After all, many small business owners who are filling out the forms necessary for government-backed loans have a long waiting process. That process can be reduced when you process loans on a remote server (Source: http://www.cutimes.com/2012/09/02/cloud-loan-processing-called-a-game-changer).
It is important to consider all of the different aspects of the loan when choosing your loan processing software. One key feature that should be covered by the software is the origination of the loan. What type of options does it offer? Does it allow the customer to fill out an online application with the use of an e-Signature? This can be a very convenient option that helps to speed up the process. It is important to consider the features in different software solutions because there might be some things you might or might not and then it becomes unnecessary expenses to pay for that feature.
Finally, consider the ability of the software to grow with your company. It is better for you to choose a software solution that is more extensive than what is necessary for your company at this point in time. It will allow you to continue to use the software as your company grows without having to go through the added expense and trouble of revamping your system. Investing in a loan processing software or cloud loan processing software will let businesses operate efficiently and stay competitive. When company do not continuous update itself, there’s a chance they can be eliminated in the industry.

Samsung’s first Smart Bulb is Bluetooth-only and lasts 10 years
Though it got beat to the punch by arch-competitor LG, Samsung has just released its debut smart LED bulb, literally called the “Smart Bulb.” It looks nothing like the multi-tiered model we saw at the FCC, but retains the Bluetooth-only spec — unlike the WiFi-based Philips Hue and LG’s WiFi/Bluetooth Smart Lamp. That’ll give you direct control of up to 64 bulbs via a smartphone app, similar to how the Lumen bulb works. However, you’ll need a ZigBee Bluetooth hub for home automation, and there’s no word yet if that’ll be included. The bulb will dim down to ten percent power with a color range between warm and cool white, meaning the disco-like tricks of the Philips and Lumen models are out. There’s no word yet on the price, but Samsung said the Smart Bulb would last a prodigious 15,000 hours or around 10 years under normal usage. Given that, if it’s in the same $32 range as LG’s bulb, we think we can swing it.

The Last of Us coming to PS4 this summer with improved graphics
A PlayStation 4 port of highly acclaimed title The Last of Us will launch sometime this summer, a Sony spokesperson has let slip. Talking on CNN Turk’s Multiplayer gaming show, a PlayStation exec claimed the port will have better graphics than the PS3 version, and will be available both digitally and physically. PS4 copies will apparently include the Left Behind single-player DLC, so newcomers get the whole story upfront, and diehards get to replay a prettier rendition. Additional single and multiplayer content is in the works, too, but even a straight port should keep most superfans happy while they wait for the movie.

LG to start shipping the G2 mini in April
The G2 mini’s far from being a perfect smartphone specimen, but LG’s hoping it has what it takes to compete in developing markets when it comes out in April. That’s right — the 4.7-inch Android KitKat phone’s coming out next month, and it’s making the Russian Commonwealth its first stop, followed by countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. The phone’s specs and features haven’t changed since we’ve last seen it at Mobile World Congress, which means it’ll ship with LG’s knock-to-unlock function and, sadly, that disappointing 960 x 540 qHD display. It will, however, come in several versions with slightly different components.
As we’ve mentioned before, the variant heading to Latin America and the Middle East is equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra 4i chip with LTE connection. Thanks to new info from the South Korean company, we now also know that it’s touting a 13-megapixel rear camera and NFC. Folks outside those two markets, on the other hand, can choose between an LTE version equipped with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8926 chipset and a 3G variant with a Qualcomm MSM8226 chip. Unfortunately, the Qualcomm devices are stuck with an 8-megapixel rear camera, but at least all versions come with a removable 2,440mAh battery. We still can’t say if the phone’s worth the price, because, well, LG kinda forgot to put a price tag on it. Those interested, however, can start thinking of whether they’d get a black, white, red or gold G2 mini while counting their rubles.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 range inbound, likely with thinner bezels and upgraded displays
We’ve been hearing scraps of information about Samsung’s next batch of Galaxy Tabs since February, but now we have something that helps us piece them all together: An FCC filing for what looks to be the 10-incher, with the model number “SM-T805.” The official paperwork doesn’t reveal much, but the same model has also appeared on internal Samsung documents that suggest it possesses a 2,560 x 1,600 display — which would be a huge upgrade over the existing Tab 3 10.1. Smaller Tab 4 models have also leaked elsewhere, with a press render of the 7-inch version (shown above, courtesy of @evleaks) showing thinner bezels than the current Tab 3 7.0, presumably resulting in a cheaper version of the highly portable (and generally very good) Tab Pro 8.4. We could be due for an official launch event pretty soon, especially with the press renders showing a date of April 24th, so stay tuned for more numerical branding fatigue.
Update: The SM-T801, likely the 8.4-inch model, just hit the FCC as well.
