Panasonic launches the dual-SIM Panasonic P31, not quite out of the smartphone market Yet
Panasonic, while a hugely famous name in consumer electronics, isn’t exactly the first name that comes to mind when you think of smartphones. That’s probably because they only made their first Android smartphone in May 2013, and decided to exit smartphones in its entirety only a few months later in September. Well, their farewell may have been a bit premature as Panasonic has revived their smartphone operation, launching the Panasonic P31 today.
The Panasonic P31 will have a 5-inch 854×480 resolution display with a MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz, along with 1GB RAM, 8GB storage with microSD support, and a 2,000mAh battery. Connectivity features include all your basics with Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, and Wi-Fi and will be running Android 4.2. The device will also have dual-SIM capabilities which is almost expected for phones that launch in India as the P31 is.
While the P31 looks vaguely reminiscent of the Galaxy S4/Galaxy Note 2 design, there’s obviously not much in the way of hardware that is comparable to those devices, nor should you expect it to as the device will be launching for the price of Rs. 11,990 (approxiamately $195 USD). This puts it in the same playing field as the new Nokia X family of devices, which perhaps suggests that even Panasonic sees this extreme-budget section of the market as a possible area of growth. There’s been no indication that the P31 will be seen anywhere other than India, though.
What do you think about the Panasonic P31? Would you considering getting on of these if it were available where you are? Let us know your opinion in the comments.

More giant photos still suggest the Oppo Find 7 has a 50MP camera
With the official launch event in less than 2 weeks now, we’re still getting very mixed messages about the Oppo Find 7. What we know for sure is that there are going to be two variants of the device, one with a more standard 1080p display and the other with a 1440p display, better known as a 2K display. Earlier today, a leak from red dot 21 suggests that at least one of the devices with have a Snapdragon 800 processor and a 13MP camera, though this contradicts the suggestions that the device might actually have a 50MP camera which has previously come in the form of a photo. Well, today we have yet another reason to believe the Oppo Find 7 has a 50MP camera, or to be precise, eight reasons.
Eight more photos have leaked out, which you can check out above, all bearing the resolution of 8160×6120. This massive resolution, which can only be taken by a 50MP camera, has been the basis for the rumour that the Find 7 has such a camera, though it’s definitely a puzzle given all the information we have currently. The only evidence we have is that the EXIF information states that the device which took these photos is the Find 7, but this could easily have been forged. I guess the only way to know for certain is the wait for 11 days till the March 19th event, but for now, we can just enjoy these incredibly detailed photos.
What do you think about these photos? Do you think the Oppo Find 7 could really have a 50MP camera? Let us know what your thoughts are on this rumour in the comments.

This Nexus 6 concept by Sirkdow Prismatiker takes having a thin phone to another Level
When Gionee announced the Elife 5.5, its 5.5mm thickness seems just about the thinnest we’re ever going to see smartphones get. If Sirkdow Prismatiker gets his way, however, phones might just have to get even thinner than even the Elife 5.5. Sirkdow has come up with a Nexus 6 concept which, well, just look:
Beautiful, isn’t it? As you can see, Sirkdow’s concept revolves around the fact that phones can get even thinner than we’ve seen, down to the point where it is about the thickness of a sheet of metal. The concept also suggests the Nexus 6 will have a Quad HD screen and stereo speakers, as rumours about the Nexus 6 have previously suggested. We’re not entirely sure that this is even possible in our current realm of technological abilities, but it’s certainly nice to see what this might actually look like if, or when, this ever comes to pass. When we do, I hope they rounded the edges as you might accidentally take your ear off trying to answer the phone.
What do you think about this Nexus 6 concept? Do you think smartphones necessarily need to get thinner than they already are? Let us know your opinion in the comments below.S

[LEAK] Photos of the Oppo Find 7 leak out showing a sleek profile and a sweet LED
While most of the Android world is fixated on the 25th of March when it’s expected that HTC will be announcing its brand new flagship smartphone, the All New HTC One, another manufacturer will be announcing their own flagship device, and all signs point to the device being very interesting indeed. That manufacturer is Oppo, and that phone, of course, is the Oppo Find 7 which Oppo has been heavily teasing these past few weeks. The latest teaser for the device doesn’t come from Oppo itself; rather, it comes from the red dot 21 design directory, an online platform whose purpose is for companies to show off their latest designs, where a series of photos of the Oppo Find 7 have been found.
The entry on the red dot site is also accompanied by a description which says the Find 7 has a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution screen and 13MP camera. This puts a dent in the rumour that the Find 7 might have a 50MP camera, however, we also know that Oppo is planning two versions of the device meaning there still might be hope. Still, as it stands, the Find 7 is shaping up to be a fantastic looking device, simple, but very sleek, particularly that “crescent-shaped breath light” LED at the bottom of the device which will serve as its notification light.
What do you think about the Oppo Find 7′s looks? Would you buy one based on what you can see here? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Oppo’s Find 7 smartphone poses for glamor shots, two weeks early
So much for surprises. Oppo has been trying to maintain an aura of mystery around the launch of the Find 7 on March 19th, but the design lovers at Red Dot have spoiled things by showing off the smartphone in their product gallery, nearly two weeks ahead of time. While we’ve had some idea of what the Find 7 will look like, it’s now clear that the 5.5-inch device will have a more upscale look than the Find 5 with a seamless front and a “breath light” at the bottom for notifications. What you don’t see, however, is that rumored 50-megapixel camera — the handset shown here comes with a relatively ordinary 13-megapixel shooter. Nokia isn’t likely in danger of losing its camera resolution supremacy, then. Even so, we doubt that many prospective Find 7 owners will complain given the Quad HD screen and other top-tier specs.

DoubleTwist’s new app lets you save iTunes Radio tracks to your PC
The folks at DoubleTwist are at it again. Over the past three months they’ve crafted Android and OS X apps to help penny-pinching users save the music they hear on iTunes Radio, and now they’ve gone and done the unthinkable: they made a version for Windows PCs, too.
Setting up the app is as simple as always. Once it’s installed, it essentially fools iTunes into thinking it’s just another AirPlay-ready gewgaw tucked away in your home theater setup. Just pop into iTunes, select the DoubleTwist app from the AirPlay menu, and fire up your iTunes Radio station of choice. The only caveat? Since the app records the audio as it plays, you’ll have to sit through an entire song before it gets saved in your coffers for good. Sure, we could think of better ways to spend our time too, but if you close your eyes and imagine the good ol’ days of reel-to-reel music sharing, the wait won’t seem so bad.

T-Mobile Adds More Data, No-Cost International Texting to Simple Choice Plans [iOS Blog]
T-Mobile today announced that it was altering its existing Simple Choice plans, adding more data, a new pricing tier and no-added-cost international texting from the United States.
Simple Choice plans still start with one line at $50 per month for unlimited data, talk and text on the T-Mobile network. You only have to decide how much high speed 4G LTE data you want. And now on the core plan, you’ll get a full 1GB of 4G LTE data and tethering – double the previous amounts. Additional lines continue to be $30 for the second line and $10 for up to three additional lines for unlimited data talk and text, and now 1GB of 4G LTE data.
Previously, T-Mobile’s Simple Choice plans included 500MB of 4G LTE data in the base $50 per month plan, while users could get 2.5GB of 4G LTE data for an extra $10 per month and unlimited 4G LTE data and 2.5GB of tethering for an extra $20 per month.
Now, users will get 1GB of 4G LTE data in the base plan, 3GB of 4G LTE data for an extra $10, 5GB of 4G LTE data and 5GB of tethering for an extra $20 and unlimited 4G LTE data and 5GB of tethering for an extra $30. In addition, T-Mobile has added unlimited international texting from the United States at no extra cost.
The data changes will take effect automatically on March 23 and the international texting will begin on April 1. While the unlimited 4G LTE data for an extra $20 per month will be removed, users who have the plan before March 23 will be grandfathered into, and allowed to keep, the plan.![]()
Pebble releases app with official appstore to Google Play, announces three more partners
It’s been over a month since iOS Pebble users received an update to the Pebble app with the new appstore baked in, but starting today, Android user can finally do the same.
The updated Pebble app is now available in Google Play. All of the app’s bugs are fixed so Pebblers on any platform can enjoy the same seamless and delightful experience of downloading from “a whole new universe of apps and watchfaces.”
Pebble took to its official blog today to give special thanks to the users and developers who tested its Android beta builds, whose help and feedback was said to have been “invaluable.” One of the last betas was released just two days ago, so it shows how hard the Kickstarter funded start-up has been working.
Now that Pebble for Android 2.0 is available, all you have to do is update the app, then not only is your smartwatch automatically updated, but you also get the store, which is laid out in different sections for apps and watchfaces, and has subsections under apps for Tools & Utilities, Notifications, Remotes, Fitness, Games, and “Daily” applications.
The appstore makes it much easier to find and install apps than before, when you had to sideload or use third-party app stores.
In addition to this announcement, Pebble also welcomed three new partners launching apps on the Pebble appstore: eBay, Evernote, and Time Warner Cable, who join not only Mercedes-Benz, Yelp, and Foursquare, but the many independent developers as well.
The eBay app lets users quickly and easily access their eBay Feed and discover products on their smartwatch, Evernote gives Pebble users the power to check their notes when away from a computers or if checking their smartphone is difficult, and Timer Warner Cable’s app allows Intelligent Home subscribers to control their home right from their wrists.
All of these apps continue to prove what is possible with such a minimalist smartwatch. For complete notes on the 2.0 release, hit up the source below.

500px now lets Prime sellers keep most of the cash from their photos
When 500px unveiled its Prime photo licensing store, it stirred up a hornet’s nest — many photographers were outraged that the image host would keep most of the cash from their work. Give credit to the company for a change of heart, though. It just launched Prime in beta, and the royalty rates are much more favorable. While 500px now sells all photos at a $250 flat rate (instead of a $250 minimum), photo owners get 70 percent of that revenue; unless you regularly sell pictures at higher prices, you stand to earn considerably more per shot. You’ll have to get an invitation to the beta to give Prime a chance, but the revamped service could be a sweeter deal if you’d make a pittance from rival photo services.

Hewlett Packard unveils the $170 HP 8 tablet
Two weeks after Mobile World Congress, Hewlett Packard quietly released its $170 HP 8 tablet: an 8-inch budget tablet with a (relatively) low res display and mediocre internals. Though, if screen size isn’t an issue, you might consider last year’s similarly-priced Slate 7.
