Leak suggests Samsung Galaxy F will be the name of the S5 Prime, could have brushed aluminium Back
Rumours of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime have somewhat died out the last few weeks, however many of us have still held onto the slim chance that this upgraded Galaxy S5 might actually exist. And from the latest leak from evleaks, its existence now seems entirely likely. The leaked photo shows what is likely a press render of the device which is allegedly named the Samsung Galaxy F which seems to line up with some previous rumours regarding the name and the back cover finish.
As the photo shows, the Galaxy F makes a departure from the dimpled back of the Galaxy S5 and instead goes for a brushed aluminium finish, which would be a nice change for a Samsung device, however if the LG G3 has taught us anything, it’s entirely possible that this is actually a faux metal back made of plastic. The Galaxy F, for which the F allegedly stands for “fashion”, is said to have a 5.2-inch Quad HD display paired with either a Snapdragon 801 or 805, 3GB RAM and 16MP camera. The device is said to be launched very soon, either this month or July, in order to counter the popularity that the Quad HD LG G3 has been seeing.
We won’t have long to see whether these rumours are true or not, but the real question is: would you be interested in the Samsung Galaxy F? Do you think Samsung’s strategy of challenging LG is correct? Let us know your opinion in the comments.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Gear 3 to launch this September?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 should arrive this September, if Samsung sticks to its release cycle that is. This new report says that Samsung’s new phablet won’t come alone though.
We haven’t seen many leaks which regard the Note 4. All we’ve had thus far are possible display details leak and a possible design leak. A report by Korea Herald suggests that a Gear 3 smartwatch will come bundled with the Note 4. Allegedly the smartwatch won’t be the rumored Gear Solo, but the new iteration of the Samsung’s Gear smartwatch, while the Gear Solo should come before the two, probably this summer. We’ll just have to wait for IFA 2014 to see if any of the two will show up there.
Many people are looking forward to the Note 4, how about you? Do you think we’ll see a new Gear smartwatch alongside Samsung’s new phablet offering?

LG G3 outsells Samsung Galaxy S5 in Korea

I don’t know about you, but we certainly didn’t expect this to happen. About a week ago LG released its new flagship for this year and the G3′s sales are apparently going far better than anticipated, in Korea at least.
Korea media reports that the LG G3 is being sold like crazy over there. Reportedly they sell 25-30,000 units per day, which is crazy, that is approximately twice that of LG’s previous G2 flagship. This information is even more unbelievable if we take into consideration that Samsung’s Galaxy S5 sold 7-8,000 units per day in that same period after launch. The report also says that LG’s marketing expenses are a lot lower than Samsung’s. If we take all that into consideration this is quite significant, and it will be interesting to see what will happen to those sales in the coming time and also abroad, LG made a really good phone and apparently consumers realize that.
Do you think that LG G3 can continue outselling Samsung’s Galaxy S5 in Korea? How about on international stage? We do think it is unrealistic to expect that will happen (internationally), but we have no doubt the G3 will sell like crazy.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4 and Note Pro reach AT&T sporting giant price tags
Want to get one of Samsung’s latest and greatest Android tablets with fast LTE data on AT&T? You can snag one very soon… but it might cost you a pretty penny. The carrier will offer both the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 on June 6th at respective prices of $380 and $799 on-contract. While those figures are in the ballpark of what you’d expect for big, cellular-equipped slates, they’re not exactly pocket change. And you’ll want to be sitting down before you look at the off-contract prices. The ‘budget’ Tab 4 will cost $480 without obligations, while the Note Pro will set you back $900 — $50 more than its already expensive Verizon counterpart. If you have the cash to burn, though, these are solid options for staying online during your next big trip.

Samsung debuts 7-inch Galaxy W for Korea

File under: Seriously?
Samsung on Monday introduced a new 7-inch smartphone (not tablet) for its Korean home turf with the Galaxy W. Yep, the same model/branding used for another Android smartphone from 2011. And, much like the Mega line, this is a case of being bigger, but not necessarily better.
Featuring a display resolution of 720×1080 pixels, it’s a 4G LTE-A handset with mid-range hardware under the hood. Specifications here include a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a 3200mAh battery. In terms of cameras, the Galaxy W offers an 8-megapixel rear shooter with a front-facing 2-megapixel experience.
Powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, it will retail for roughly 499,400 won ($490, £290, AUS $526). Color options are black, red, and white and each comes with the faux-leather found in the Galaxy Note 3.

It begins: Samsung launches the Samsung Z, its first Tizen-based Smartphone
Many pundits have suggested the end of Android will come when Samsung decides to shift its smartphone focus over to the Tizen OS, and for those that say that, the end could be nigh. Samsung has today announced its first Tizen smartphone, the Samsung Z, and while its specs aren’t quite bleeding edge, they’re nothing to scoff at either. Behind a 4.8-inch 720p display, the Samsung Z houses an unspecified quadcore 2.3GHz processor (most likely a Snapdragon 800), 2GB RAM, 16GB storage (with microSD slot), 8MP camera and a 2,600mAh battery.
The Samsung Z also benefits from a lot of the gizmos that can be found on the Galaxy S5 including a fingerprint and heart rate sensor as well as more standard inclusions like NFC, IR sensors and LTE-A compatibility. As for the OS itself, you could be forgiven for thinking that the Samsung Z was running a very heavily skinned version of Android, though that may be intentional for the sake of consumers.
If you’re interested in getting a Samsung Z, the device will be available in Russia starting in Q3, and availability will spread thereafter. Unfortunately, the Samsung Z won’t be coming to the U.S. or Europe any time soon as Samsung has said that those markets aren’t ready for Tizen yet. Still, it’s intriguing to see the OS finally take off after months of speculation; what are your thoughts on the Samsung Z? Is it something you’re interested in trying? Let us know in the comments below.

Samsung lets you make apps for Tizen-based TVs that don’t exist yet
The open source Tizen platform may only just be making its way on to wristwear, but Samsung has much bigger plans… in a very literal sense. The company is releasing a developer kit that will let you create apps for Tizen-based smart TVs, including software that supports hand gestures, mobile device pairing and voice commands. And unlike some TV development tools, you won’t need a real set to try things out; you can replicate many core features from the comfort of your PC.
The kit should be available from Samsung’s Developer Forum in early July if you’re eager to start tinkering, or just want to try the resulting apps. However, you’ll be waiting considerably longer for the hardware — to date, Samsung hasn’t said when it will release TVs running Tizen. While the software is a sign that these sets are getting close, the kit is mostly useful for aspiring coders who want a head start.
