The 90-second ad centers on Stevie Wonder and his family preparing for the upcoming holiday season with the help of a few Apple devices.

WhatsApp gets starred messages, rich preview links and more in latest update

WhatsApp, one of the most popular mobile messaging services on Android, is getting quite the handful of useful features in its latest update. New in version 2.12.367 is the ability to star messages to find them later, support for Android Direct Share, and rich previews when sending links.
First and foremost, the ability to star messages has been a heavily requested feature for some time, so we’re sure many users will be happy with this one. All you need to do is simply tap and hold on any message in a chat to star it, allowing you to easily find it later (similar to a bookmark). You can even browse your starred messages by navigating to the Chats tab > Menu > Starred Messages. It’s a small feature, but will definitely come in handy.
Also new in WhatsApp is the ability to send or receive links with a rich preview. You can also choose to send links without rich previews if you so choose.

Lastly, WhatsApp has added support for Direct Share, which was introduced in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Direct Share allows you to share things with more specific targets. For instance, if you’d like to share a link with a contact in WhatsApp, in the past you’d need to click the share button, scroll down to WhatsApp, select your contact and send the link. Now that WhatsApp has built in support for this feature, you’ll quickly be able to choose a specific WhatsApp chat directly from the share menu. How neat!
This big ol’ update is now live in the Google Play Store, so head to the link below to grab the latest version.
T-Mobile giving Sprint customers transferring to the Uncarrier an extra $200 for free
T-Mobile this morning announced that Sprint customers will get an extra $200 for every line they switch over to T-Mobile. This comes as the second gift in T-Mobile’s month of holiday giving, otherwise known as Uncarrier Unwrapped.
In addition to this holiday promotion, Sprint customers still qualify for T-Mobile’s Carrier Freedom promotion, where the Uncarrier will give you up to $650 per line to pay towards Sprint’s early termination fees (ETFs) and other remaining balances.
T-Mobile announced its first holiday gift earlier this week, revealing that existing T-Mobile Simple Choice customers will get unlimited 4G LTE data through March 2016.
With this second holiday gift, Sprint customers transferring four lines to T-Mobile could get as much as $800 extra on top of the Carrier Freedom promotion.
Be sure to keep an eye out for more T-Mobile gifts, as the Uncarrier still has a few more holiday surprises up its sleeves for AT&T and Verizon customers.

US regulators delay law that will make electric cars more noisy
Electric cars are famous for how quiet they are compared to regular gas-guzzlers. This is good for noise pollution, bad for pedestrians — especially the visually impaired. Manufacturers are well aware of the issue, and solutions like Toyota’s proximity notification system are becoming more popular. What’s not in place, yet, is industry-wide legislation to ensure all EVs and Hybrids have such a safety feature built-in. A law requiring cars have automatic audible alerts for pedestrians proposed in 2013 is in process, but Reuters reports the U.S. Department of Transportation that’s just been delayed until at least March next year — it was originally planned to come in to action this fall. The law would cost automakers an estimated $23-million in the first year to implement.

Samsung Gear VR review (2015): A no-brainer if you own a Samsung phone
When Samsung and Oculus debuted their Gear VR headset almost a year ago, the companies made it clear the device wasn’t yet ready for the masses. Billed as “Innovator Edition” models, the original Gear VRs were intended mainly for early adopters. They only fitted a limited number of phones — the original was designed just for the Note 4; the second for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge — and were also quite pricey at $200 per headset. Just last week, however, the two companies released the first-ever consumer-ready version of the Gear VR. It’s smaller, lighter, cheaper (only $99) and is compatible with more phones (the Note 5, S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+). But, more importantly, its content library has exploded, with more VR apps and games than ever before. Virtual reality has finally gone mainstream, and there’s no better way to get started than with the new Gear VR.Slideshow-342906
