Telegram update brings supergroups and admins
Telegram is one of the best ways to keep your chats private. So much so that ISIS even uses it. However, in-order to keep everyone happy, they have added a few new highly requested features.
One of those new features is admins for groups. For example, you could have large groups before, but it was sometimes difficult to control them. Now, you can add admins to them. This should make it a lot easier to maintain control over their size.
Another new feature is supergroups. Regular groups have up to 200 users, but supergroups allows up to 1000 members. This is a feature many have been wanting ever since Telegram launched back in 2013. Admins can also be appointed to supergroups too.
With supergroups, you can do things like:
- New members can see the entire message history when they join.
- Deleted messages will disappear for all members.
- Ordinary members can only delete their own messages.
- Supergroups are muted by default and send fewer joined/left notifications.
The new Telegram update is out now, but please note, to use the new features, everyone in the group must have the update. You might want to hold off upgrading a group to a supergroup right now.

Facebook Announces tvOS SDK With Login Support
Earlier today Facebook announced (via 9to5Mac) Facebook SDK for tvOS, which the company says will help developers “build immersive social experiences on that platform.” The three features the SDK allows thus far are Facebook Login, Share to Facebook and Facebook Analytics for Apps.

Similar to Facebook Login on iOS, tvOS’ Facebook Login would allow users to easily log in to their apps without having to worry about creating multiple accounts. Additionally, users wouldn’t have to use Apple TV’s cumbersome text entry method. Like some other TV authentication methods, Facebook Login would require a user to enter a confirmation code.
Facebook Login: A fast and easy way for people to log into your app and for you to provide rich, personalized experiences. To log into an app with their Facebook account, people can simply enter a confirmation code displayed on the TV into their smartphone or computer, rather than entering their username and password with the remote.
While Facebook Login would make it simpler for users to log into third-party apps and games, it’s unlikely the same ease will be available for video apps like HBO Go, which require a user to authenticate the app via a cable or satellite provider account.
The new SDK would also include the ability for developers to allow users to share links, photos and video from tvOS to Facebook and help developers understand their audience with Facebook-based analytics. Developers can download the SDK from Facebook’s developer site.

Steam Controller’s new trick is designed for strategy games
By default, the haptic touchpads that define Valve’s Steam Controller are just thumb-friendly fill-ins for a proper mouse — but that’s not all they can do. Thanks to a new Steam client beta update, the Steam Controller’s signature touchapds can now do something now standard PC mouse can: instantly warp your cursor anywhere on the screen at the touch of a thumb.

Software update for Nest Thermostats will make them even more energy efficient
Nest is sending out an update to all of its thermostats that will allow them to make small changes in-order to keep your house at the ideal temperature. Nest says it has done this by creating even better algorithms that take into consideration things like weather, drafts, and your schedule.
Also, Nest says the update will allow the thermostats to maintain your home’s temperature up to 20% closer to the original temperature you have set. For example, if you have set the heat to 70ºF, Nest Thermostats will now be much more efficient at holding that temperature.
- Nest Thermostats will now maintain the temperature in your home up to 20% closer to the temperature you’ve set.
- Multi-stage heating systems can now save 3.8% more energy, heat pumps can save 6.5% more, and multi-stage cooling systems can save 5.4% more than they have before.
- Time-to-Temperature, Early-On and Heat Pump Balance will get better.
Frequent updates is the real benefit to using a Nest Thermostat. Normally, you buy a thermostat and it just sits there for years and years. However, Nest will always be looking at ways to improve theirs, and send you updates once they do. This new update is said to be rolling out over the next couple of weeks.

War Piggy: Jetpack Pig Warrior (game review)
Overview
Jetpack Pig Warrior is simple game that puts the player in the position of a highly skilled pig operative that flies around the screen in the direction of the player’s command. The enemies in the game, General von Rat’s minions, will drop in from the sky above or from the right side of the screen to attack the player. Rack up as much points as you can from defeating these enemies, and try to stay alive as long as possible.
Gameplay
To start off, the game will greet you with the main menu that directs you to the “Play” button. Once tapped, the player can choose a weapon, a head start bonus, a companion, and miscellaneous perks. From the weapon menu, you can choose from the default pistol, or spend in game points for a Shotgun, Bad Boy, Missile Launcher, Flame Thrower, Chainsaw Gun and WWII SMG. I had a good time with the Bad Boy gun, which shot out cannonballs that spewed fire around them, causing a wide area of damage. The companions menu consisted of War Piggy’s four different friends to bring along to back him up.
This game is not very sophisticated, and you’ll find yourself familiar with the game almost immediately. Tap and hold on any part of the screen to move War Piggy to where you want to go, while he is automatically shooting enemies. Keep in mind, ammunition is unlimited, so you never have to worry about how much the pig is firing away. Power-ups will be dropped down from the sky such as health, armor and different guns.
I found the gameplay to be uninspiring, however. Never did I feel like I was playing something different and special. I enjoyed the theme and the ridiculousness of War Piggy wreaking havoc on General von Rat’s minions, but the gameplay didn’t quite match the creativity of the style. Once reaching the end of the first tier, you get into a classic boss fight with von Rat’s ship, but the best way to describe the fight was boring and tedious. Not much skill was required of you, other than dodging the ship’s bullets as War Piggy automatically fires back for you. But taking down this boss took much longer than it should have.
What we liked:
- The game’s silly style and characters
- the pre-game power-ups and different weapon choices
What could be better
- Needs more gameplay diversity
- Less tedious and more enjoyable boss battles
Conclusion
I had some fun with Jetpack Pig Warrior, but it needs more polished gameplay that will keep players hooked. There wasn’t much about this game that wasn’t a skinned over version of Jetpack Joyride or the many other similar flying games on the Google Play Store. I look forward to more updates from developer Yuri Nudelman, and possibly more games in the future.

Quickly charge your devices on the go with iClever Dual USB Car Charger (review)
As a pest control technician, I have to drive everywhere, so car chargers are very important for me. With The iClever Dual USB Car Charger, I can now quickly charge my devices as I drive from A to B.
Overview
The dual charger has a slick design that allows you to charge up to two devices at the same time. It has a relatively small profile, making it fit easily into any power outlet your vehicle has, without poking out too much, while giving you peace of mind that you will have enough power for your devices. The charger easily slides in and out of the power socket, but not too easily. Once in, it will stay put until you are ready to unplug it.
Just like iClever’s desktop chargers, this car charger also features their Smart I.D. technology. This means that whatever device you plug in will charge at its max rate. Now, if you are using your phone to listen to music, as I do, or have multiple processes running, this may potentially slow down your charge speed, but not by much.
Design
The design is pretty small, for a dual port charger. Once plugged in, it sticks out less than half an inch.
The width is about and inch, so it shouldn’t interfere with anything else in your vehicle. It also has a blue indicator light, telling you if you have power or not. This light is only visible through the USB ports, so if you have something plugged in, it is not visible at that point.
With other car chargers, I have had issues where they either slide out too easily or it feels like I will yank the entire dashboard out with it. With iClever, they have designed it the charger to slide in and out with ease while staying in place until you are ready to remove it.
Usage
I have gotten the best use out of this charger while I work. I typically drive anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour to get to a customer, and usually about an hour and a half to get back home. Ever since getting this charger, I haven’t had to worry about what my screen brightness is, or whether my GPS is on. At least, not while I’m at work.
For regular use, this is still a great charger. Small trips can help to maintain your current charge levels, such as to the gas station or grocery store. This is definitely a must have if you are planning a road trip.
Summary
I absolutely love this car charger, not only because of the quality but also the price. The iClever Dual USB Car Charger is currently on sale at Amazon for $9.99.

Amazon Prime will reportedly offer access to other video services
Normally, signing up for a streaming video service only gives you the content from that service, leaving you heading elsewhere when a TV network decides to hoard all its shows. If rumors are true, though, Amazon Prime Video may soon offer a lot more in one place. Bloomberg sources hear that Amazon will give you the option to add other subscription services to your account, and show their video libraries alongside its own. Just who’s interested isn’t clear, but Amazon is reportedly lining up “major, well-known” movie and TV channels for a launch that could happen as early as December.
