Unofficial app makes PlayStation 4 to PC streaming a reality

Sony’s had its Remote Play tech in one form or another since the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, but it didn’t truly take off until its implementation on PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita handheld. But that’s kind of wasted when nobody is buying the Vita and it’s getting zero love from its parent company. Remote Play PC is exactly what its name implies: an application that tricks the PS4 into thinking a PC is a Remote Play device. Microsoft changed the game (sorry) with the ability for the Xbox One to stream its games to Windows 10-based hardware and until Sony catches up we’re just going to have to settle for an unofficial app that costs money to perform the task.

To claim the credit, buyers must send images of the product receipt to Sony as well as the IMEI of the device. The deal will run through January 31, 2016. Motorola starts sending out invites to an event it’s holding in India on December 1

Motorola_stock_logo_large_verge_medium_landscape

Earlier today, Motorola sent out its first batch of invitations to an exclusive press event it’s holding in New Delhi on Tuesday, December 1. Unfortunately, the Lenovo-owned company hasn’t disclosed what exactly it’s planning to unveil at the conference, but there are some hints being subtly dropped by the firm that suggest we could see the release of the second-generation Moto 360 in India.

Moto 360 Invite

We don’t have any information with regards to what price tag the device will carry in the region, but in the US it’s priced between $299.99 to $429.99, depending on configuration, which leads us to believe that we could see it hit the shelves for around INR19, 900 to INR28,500.

xperia-m4-aqua-dual-gallery-01

Amazon has just released its latest Black Friday deal, which is a must-have for any consumers looking to pick up a reliable budget-friendly waterproof smartphone. While stock lasts, you will be able to bag yourself a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua for $199.99, which is a whopping $100 off its usual retail price of $299.99. The handset is only available in black and comes as standard with a 12-month manufacturer warranty.

As this is an unlocked GSM device, it will only play nice with T-Mobile and AT&T in the United States, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take it abroad as it will work with most European carriers, including Vodafone, O2 and Three. A full list of the supported carrier bands can be seen below:

  • 2G : 850/900/1800/1900
  • 3G : 850/900/1900/2100

International variant of the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is now up for purchase in the U.S. on Amazon

Sony_Xperia_Z5_Premium_Colour_RangeConsumers in the United States can now get their hands on an international variant of Sony’s latest Xperia Z5 Premium.

For the first time, consumers in the United States can purchase the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium thanks to Amazon. However, just remember that since it’s an international variant it fails to include a valid U.S. warranty. If this isn’t enough to stop you, make sure the device has the proper bands for your carrier prior to buying. The handset should work on all GSM carriers such as T-Mobile, AT&T and others.

Consumers can purchase either the dual-SIM model or the single-SIM variant from Amazon. Depending on the model and choice of color, the price will vary. But either way you go, it’ll cost you a pretty penny.

Motorola’s Cyber Monday sale saves on last year’s phones and smartwatches

motorola_logo_string

Motorola seems to be clearing out its stock of old hardware for Cyber Monday this year. The company is discounting last year’s Moto X, Moto G, and Moto 360 models rather than the updated versions. But, know knows, Motorola could always surprise consumers with flash deals on this year’s round of phones and smartwatches. And we sure hope they do. Very few people will be inclined to get last year’s Moto X when they could just spend $100 more to get the Moto X Pure Edition. The same thing goes for Motorola’s smartwatch. All of Motorola’s Cyber Monday deals aren’t that big of a savings when you look at the current models’ prices.

Each of these deals will be live on Monday, November 30, at 12:00PM ET.

The Ion Belt: ‘sleek,’ safe and ‘stylish’ portable charging

You know you want to plug your phone into your belt.

Have you ever wanted to carry an external battery for your phone, but hated the thought of creating even the smallest bulge in your pocket? No? Well, someone decided to fill that niche anyway. Ion Tech Wear is crowdfunding the Ion Belt, a 3,000mAh power pack that keeps your phone alive while it keeps your pants up. It’s meant to be a “sleek” and “stylish” wearable that goes with anything, but it comes across as a phone holster-like fashion faux pas — it’s still a little too obvious that there’s a gadget on your waist, and you’re going to look a little dodgy plugging in that USB cable. This isn’t even the first battery belt we’ve seen, for that matter. If you think you can pull it off, though, you can pledge $89 or more in the hopes of getting the belt in June.

T-Mobile gifts subscribers three months of unlimited data

T-Mobile this week announced that all of its postpaid Simple Choice customers will receive three months of unlimited high-speed data. Specifically, anyone who has one of the postpaid plans as of November 23 are eligible.

As part of its Black Friday and Holiday deals, T-Mobile is giving subscribers a whole host of savings. Be it on smartphones, accessories, or something else, there’s likely something that will interest you. According to T-Mobile, the promos will change over the coming weeks and new stuff will be continuously introduced.

On December 1, 2015, the special holiday gift will simply appear under the tree—that is, in their existing T-Mobile plan. And, they’ll keep that free Unlimited LTE smartphone data as long as they’re on the same T-Mobile plan with Binge On active until March 1, 2016.

As to how the unlimited data works, well, that may be in name only – for average users. Why? Because the unlimited data doesn’t actually kick in until you’ve exhausted your normal data and then the unused Data Stash you’ve accumulated. It’s even harder to get to that data when you factor in Music Freedom and Binge On. In other words, the unlimited data is great, but it’s going to be tough to tap into it. Not really a problem, if you ask us.

For the next three months, everybody…has Unlimited 4G LTE smartphone data once you use up all your data and your Data Stash.

Click here to check out the T-Mobile Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Holiday Sales.

You don’t have to be a millionaire to invest in Fig’s next video game

Crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter don’t deal in investments: Backers pledge money to a project and that’s generally where their involvement ends. No purchasing shares, no percentage of final sales. Video game-funding platform Fig, however, combines this traditional form of crowdfunding with actual investment — and it will allow unaccredited people to invest in its next campaign. This move opens up investment to people who aren’t SEC-accredited, meaning they don’t make at least $200,000 a year (or have a minimum net worth of $1 million). “We believe that fans, in addition to having the opportunity to participate in the rewards-only tiers, should also have the opportunity to buy shares and participate in the financial success of a title,” Fig CEO Justin Bailey says in a press release.

Vine puts looping videos on your Apple Watch

Vine on the Apple Watch

Vine teased months ago that it was working on support for the Apple Watch, and it’s finally delivering on that promise. Grab the updated Vine app for iOS and you can watch those 6-second looping videos on your wrist (either featured ones or those from favorites) whenever you need a quick pick-me-up. You can set your total loop count as a complication, too, in case you’re just that close to hitting an important milestone. The wrist-based app doesn’t work quite the way it does on your iPhone, as you might suspect. Videos won’t automatically play, and the audio goes through the watch’s built-in speaker — keep that in mind if you decide to watch cat videos while you’re waiting for the bus.
