A Kickstarter project is trying to bring an online 3D version of MMORPG hit AdventureQuest to your computer device no matter what it may be. Like the original Flash game, AdventureQuest 3D is set in a fantasy world populated by monsters and magic. One of the goals of this latest version though is to make it cross-platform so that players can access their character and the fantasy world regardless of the device they happen to be using – smartphone, tablet or PC.

To make the concept work, the developers, Artix Entertainment, have created a persistent online world where real-time combat can take place. Adventures and battles can accommodate solo adventuring, two player when you want to spend time with a friend, or large group adventures. The Kickstarter project plans to bring AdventureQuest 3D to the following devices initially:

  • Android smartphones (4.x+)
  • Android tablets (4.x+)
  • PC (Steam, Windows 10 and website downloads)
  • Mac OSX (Steam and website downloads)
  • Apple iPhone (5+)
  • Apple iPad (2+)

They say additional platforms may be added depending on how the funding goes.

To entice supporters, a special Guardian class has been created that players will have access to for a pledge of $25 or more. Additional classes are available for more support, like Epic Founders and Alpha Pirates. Artix Entertainment does have a couple high dollar options available. For $2,500 or more, you can have your own character developed and included in the game as an NPC (non-player character). For $5,000 you can travel down to the team’s design studio where you will work with the developers to design an adventure that will be included in the game.
