Inateck quick charge car charger review
Car chargers are a dime a dozen, everyone has one. But it’s unfortunate that tons of people don’t know that their phones have some form of quick charging and that their in-car charging doesn’t have to be so slow. Car electrical outlets are capable of outputting more power, but yesteryear chargers hold back because of past phone technology.
Fortunately, newer car chargers are setting the record straight. One such solution was provided to us by Inateck.

This 30W charger brings multiple ports and a Quick-Charge 2.0 compatible port to make sure you’re juiced up throughout the day. Let’s check it out.
Design
Inateck’s multi-port charger has a fairly basic design, but nothing you wouldn’t expect from a car charger. The inner channel goes into the car’s power outlet, and the body widens on where the ports reside.

The device is entirely made of glossy plastic, which gives it a nice sheen. But as typically the case with glossy material, it does catch fingerprint smudges.
Fortunately, the plastic doesn’t feel cheap. There’s no creaking, flexing plastic, or questionable seams in the build. It feels like it’ll stand the test of time.
For the power output, we have visually distinct Quick-Charge 2.0 port (colored with green) and two 2.4A ports for everything else. It’s great that Inateck made the QC 2.0 port visually distinguishable for quick recognition of which port to plug into.

Functionality
Inateck packed 30W worth of power output in this car charger. This means that even with a QC 2.0 port, it can still output via two 5V/2.4A ports at the same time.
The charger worked very well in my test runs. QC 2.0 charging was as speedy as advertised, and I could juice up the rest of my gear in tandem.
Sorry about the dirty interior
When in the power outlet, the charger doesn’t take up too much space. Inateck did well in minimizing the device’s footprint. My only complaint is that it’s unusually hard to remove from the outlet. I would recommend Inateck to ease up on the gripping force.
Inateck promises safe charging due to the use of “industry grade materials and premium circuitry” in the internal design. The packaging includes one 4ft micro-USB cable.
Final Thoughts

Inateck’s quick charging car solution is a pleasure. The design is minimal and the build is sturdy. It works as advertised and keeps multiple devices juiced up so you can avoid that dead-battery panic moment.
You can find Inateck’s car charger on its Amazon page, going for $17.99 at the time of this writing. It could certainly be a great holiday gift for someone who needs to catch up with the times.

New 4-Inch iPhone Rumored to Feature A8 Chip, Bluetooth 4.1 and More
Apple has developed a new 4-inch iPhone based on an iPhone 5s with sixth-generation iPod touch features including an A8 chip, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and an improved FaceTime HD camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture, according to often-reliable Japanese blog Mac Otakara [Google Translate].

Mac Otakara, citing reliable sources, claims the so-called “iPhone 5s Mark II” has entered production and could be shipped at any time. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects the new 4-inch iPhone, which he also believes to be an upgraded iPhone 5s, to launch in the first half of 2016, a launch date corroborated by other recent rumors.
Kuo previously claimed that the next 4-inch iPhone may adopt an A9 processor in order for iOS 9 or iOS 10 smoothly, but his chip-specific prediction appears to be more guesswork rather than information sourced from Apple’s supply chain.
Given Mac Otakara‘s respectable track record, and considering Apple’s reported desire to differentiate the new 4-inch iPhone from its flagship iPhone 6s lineup, it is plausible the so-called “iPhone 6c” could be powered by an A8 chip.
Apple will also reportedly withhold 3D Touch from the 4-inch iPhone in order to encourage adoption of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Official Apple Watch Charging Dock Packaging Shown in Leaked Photo
Apple is developing its own in-house docking solution for charging the Apple Watch, reports French site iGeneration [Google Translate]. Citing sources with knowledge of Apple’s plans, iGeneration says the dock will be called simply the “Magnetic Charging Dock,” a name also seen in alleged packaging photos below.

Circular in shape, the dock appears to support the Apple Watch in two orientations, both laid flat over the top in portrait mode and on its side in landscape mode, useful for Nightstand mode. The charging puck within the dock seems to adjust from flat to upright to accommodate both orientations.
The Magnetic Charging Dock is said to come with a Lightning cable that will be used to charge the Apple Watch through the dock, but it does not include a USB power adapter. The packaging for the dock lists a price of €89, which likely means it will be priced at $79 in the United States.

At $79, the Magnetic Charging Dock is significantly more expensive than Apple’s dock for the iPhone, but it appears to have a more complicated design with the ability to support both portrait and landscape charging. It is not known when the dock might go on sale, but the completed packaging signals an imminent release date.
Update: German site Grobgebloggt.de (via Apfelpage.de) has shared photos of the Magnetic Apple Watch dock. It ships with a 2M Lightning cable.

Apple Seeds Fourth OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan Beta to Developers and Public Beta Testers
Apple today seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan update to developers and public beta testers, just one week after seeding the third beta and a full month after releasing OS X 10.11.1, the first OS X El Capitan update, to the public.
The fourth beta, build 15C47a, is available through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store and can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center. Public beta testers can download the beta through the Mac App Store.

We don’t know exactly what improvements the 10.11.2 update will bring to OS X El Capitan, because the betas seem to be focused on under-the-hood upgrades with no apparent outward-facing changes. It’s likely to include bug fixes, security enhancements, and performance improvements to address problems that have popped up since the release of OS X 10.11.1.
Apple’s release notes for OS X 10.11.2 have asked developers to focus on Networking, Graphics, Mail, Wi-Fi, Calendar, USB, Notes, Photos, and Spotlight.

Google can now search inside Facebook’s mobile app
Google may be known as the ultimate search engine, but it’s possible that all could change in the future. The rise of mobile apps has made it very difficult for Google to index content within apps. The only way to search inside an app is to get permission from the developer.
Obviously, going to the biggest apps and making a deal to crawl them is the best way to start. That is exactly what Google is doing, and their first stop was Facebook. Facebook is the world’s largest social network and Google will now be able to crawl and index some results within their mobile app.
A Facebook spokeswoman wrote in an emailed statement:
“When people search for public Facebook content on the mobile web, those who use Facebook for Android can now click through and go straight to the Facebook app,”
With this new agreement, Google can display some content from Facebook like public profile information. It will also have access to business listings called Pages, Groups and Events. These new search results, called “deep links”, will take users to relevant parts of the Facebook app when clicked.

The power of Chrome is headed to a pocket near you. ASUS and Google are finally bringing users the power of Chrome to a HDMI PC stick that will fit in your pocket for the affordable price of $85. The ASUS Chromebit is everything you think it might be, and possibly somethings you wish it wasn’t. It brings the same user experience you would gain on any Chromebook, and makes it a bit more portable. All you need is access to a power plug and monitor or TV with a HDMI port.
The Chromebit isn’t a monster gaming stick, but should be able to handle most daily browsing, social media, Google Doc and Chrome experience things. It is powered by a Rockchip ARM RK3288-C processor with 2GB of RAM and sports 16GB of internal storage. Much like a lot of Chromebooks. The web access is handled by 802.11 ac Wi-Fi connections while your keyboard and mouse can be paired up with Bluetooth 4.0. It also offers up a USB port that could be used for more traditional keyboards and mice or other compatible devices.
If you end up picking one up you get the ASUS Chromebit, a 1-foot HDMI cable and the power block to make it all work in the box. For $85 it might worth giving it a run. It will be available through Amazon, Fry’s and Newegg to start off in the U.S., but isn’t appearing just yet in searches on any of them. Other parts of the globe, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the U.K. will all be seeing the Chromebit in due time.

Meet the high school dropout paving the way for indie eSports
It sounds like a classic Silicon Valley success story: A young, inexperienced entrepreneur drops out of school to pursue his dreams and ends up founding an influential, innovative company. Except, Alex Nichiporchik isn’t from California; he’s from Latvia. And he didn’t drop out of college to follow his passion — he dropped out of high school. Nichiporchik is the CEO and co-founder of tinyBuild GAMES, the studio behind No Time to Explain and SpeedRunners, and he’s leading the indie charge into eSports. Professional gaming is new territory for small studios, which means Nichiporchik has made a lot of it up along the way, from hosting low-quality live streams to producing tournaments with the Electronic Sports League. “We didn’t know what we were doing,” he says, but “it took off” anyway.
