UK carrier giffgaff surprised the people of London with human shaped flying objects. The flying humans were part of a giffgaff ad to celebrate their new ‘no-ties’ approach to contracts.

The flying humans were seen flying past many iconic London landmarks such as the London Eye, Big Ben and Canary Wharf. This publicity stunt was also part of a larger advertising campaign called ‘hey you’, in which people are seen to inexplicably fly and float in the air.

Press Release:

LONDON, November 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ —

London commuters this morning had to double take, as strange human-shaped flying objects appeared across the London skyline. The activity celebrates mobile network giffgaff’s ‘no-ties’ approach to contracts and is timed to coincide with its recent ad campaign, entitled ‘hey you’, in which people are seen to inexplicably fly and float in the air.

Drifting across iconic London landmarks such as the London Eye, Big Ben and Canary Wharf, the human forms caused excited commuters to stop and look up at the sky, with many recording the moment on their mobile phones.

Created to amplify awareness of the TV ad, the activity perfectly encapsulates giffgaff’s sentiment of ‘we won’t tie you down’ – a statement referring to the award-winning company’s shunning of restrictive mobile phone contracts for its customers.

The most recent ‘hey you’ advert, which aired on October 16th, can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6qOQs92rLw&index=1&list=PLdjhV1bimcaXUzSY_OXWU_i4ls1_1Ingy
