Best Galaxy Note 5 cases

Today is the big day. While T-Mobile and Verizon began sales a bit early, for the rest of the carriers, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ have officially arrived! We’re sure you have heard a lot about Samsung’s latest big-screen flagship duo, which take on the same premium aesthetics found on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The design may be gorgeous, but, unfortunately, that doesn’t mean it is impervious to wear, tear, drops, and bruises. Thankfully, that’s where a good case can come into play.

For those looking for a little extra protection for their brand new Galaxy Note 5, we’ve gathered up some of the best cases you can buy and put them all in one post.
Note 5 clear view case

For those that prefer official accessories, you might want to turn your attention to the Note 5 Clear S-View case. This case is designed to protect your device while also providing a beautiful look to the rear in your choice of silver, gold, or black. Not only will you get protection on the rear, but the front will also be covered. At the same time, the clear design up front means you’ll be able to see and interact with upcoming notifications and calls, all without ever needing to take off the front cover.
As you’d expect, being an official accessory does mean that the cover does come at a bit of a premium. The clear S-View cover will set you back $59.99, and while you can pre-order it now, it won’t actually ship until August 31st.
Note 5 Mophie battery case
One of the downsides to the new Note 5 design is that you can no longer remove a dead battery, swap in a replacement, and keep on chugging along. That’s where a case like this could really come in handy. The Mophie case not only protects your device from bruises and bumps, it also includes an integrated battery! While the Mophie case hasn’t officially arrived, it is expected to debut on its store in the near future.
Exact battery size is unknown, though the Galaxy S6 version of the case packs a 3000 mAh added battery, so we’d expect at least that big. As for pricing? We’d expect it to set you back around $99.
Kate Spade Note 5 case

This sleek looking case is from Kate Spade New York and features an attractive design crafted for saffiano leather that not only protects your phone, it actually adds to the aesthetics and helps your phone stand out from a crowd. For those looking for a designer quality case, this could certainly be worthy of your consideration.
On the other hand, it is also one of the more expensive cases out there at $55.99, putting it in similar pricing territory to Samsung’s own official case.
Ringke SLIM case for Galaxy Note 5

Who says a good case has to set you back a lot of money? The Ringke Slim case offers 4-side corner-to-corner protection, has a tapered lip and lifted camera area to protect the sensor and screen, and is designed to fit snuggly without adding a bunch of weight. While not nearly as attractive as the bare naked look of the Galaxy Note 5, it isn’t a bad looking case and does come in a variety of different colors including crystal, mint, white, gold, and black.
The best part about the Ringke Slim case is it is extremely affordable. Depending on the color, you’ll pay anywhere from $8.99 to $13.99. To make a good deal even better, Ringke includes a complimentary screen protector as well. Not a bad investment, we’d say.
Verus Verge Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The Verus Verge Case for the Galaxy Note 5 is almost identical to the version previously seen for the Edge+. It is a tough, slim fitting case that consists of a hard shell frame with a soft rugged inner shell to provide extra durability from drops and scratches. The two-piece design is very durable, all without adding too much extra bulk.
The Verus Verge Case in five different colors: titanium silver, gold, red, blue, and satin silver. Pricing is $16.99, regardless of your choice of color.
Spigen Neo Hybrid for Note 5

A best case list wouldn’t be complete without at least a few entries dealing with Spigen. There is a good reason why Spigen is a popular choice, not only are its cases quite durable, they are also not too pricey. The Neo Hybrid series is a two-piece case that is comprised of a shock-absorbing TPU case and a polycarbonate bumper. The case also has metalized buttons that give the volume and rockers a great click to them.
You can grab this case from Amazon starting at just $16.99 for the gold or gunmetal choices. You’ll need to pony up $20.99 for the dante red, metal slate, blue topaz, or satin silver options.
OtterBox Defender series

One of the biggest and best brands in the case industry is OtterBox. At the top of this line, you’ll find the Defender series, which provides three layers of protection that protects your device from drops and scrapes in a way few other cases can compete with. With the Defender you get a polycarbonate inner shell with an internal foam padding, a synthetic rubber outer slipcover, and even a built-in screen protector up front. Port plugs also help protect your device from dust and debris, making it a job option for construction and other heavy duty scenarios.
The Defender also lets you customize the shell color, as well as the slipcover, creating a combo that will further help your phone stand out. Ond the downside, OtterBox cases tend to be on the pricey side, with this case setting you back $69.90.
Spigen Slim Armor for Note 5

A bit higher up the price ladder from the Neo Hybrid, the Slim Armor also has a dual-layered design made of hard polycarbonate and flexible TPU. Not only will this design protect your phone from drops and scuffs, it also has an integrated kickstand which will make consuming media even more enjoyable. In many ways this case will perform similarly to the Neo but bears a different overall look and feel that is further complemented by the built-in kickstand.
The Slim Armor starts at just $13.99 for the gunmetal option, which is actually a bit cheaper than the Neo Hybrid. For the rest, however, you’ll pay either $18.99 or $24.99, depending on your color choice.
i-Blason Prime Series for Galaxy Note 5

The i-Blason Prime is a tough case with an attractive design that is designed with shock absorption and abrasion resistance in mind. There are two parts here, the silicone case and a hard shell layer that clips onto it to offer added protection and durability while not adding too much in the way of bulk.
For those that enjoy ‘extras’, outside of simply having a solid case, the Prime also includes an integrated kickstand. Not bad considering the price tag is only $9.99 for red and blue, or $11.95 for black.
Spigen Wallet case

Last but not least, the Spigen Wallet case is an attractive folio wallet case made of synthetic leather and a hard polycarbonate inner-housing. For those that want something elegant without the hard plastic feel, this is certainly an option worthy of your consideration. You also, obviously, have storage for cards and cash with this particular choice. Even better, the case can be converted into kickstand mode for better media consumption, and the leather wallet design provides front and back protection.
The Spigen Wallet case is available only in black at a price of $18.99.
