AT&T launches Digital You program to teach people about internet security

AT&T_Logo_01_TAAT&T has launched a new program called Digital You. Digital You offers tools, tips, apps, guidance, and community education events on how to stay safe and secure online.

Through the Digital You program, AT&T collaborated with organizations like Common SenseAARP to increase digital literacy, and more to promote online safety tips.

Digital You is aimed at teaching beginners of all ages basic online safety measures to keep their information and themselves safe while using a smartphone or tablet. It will also be helping people with disabilities understand how to activate accessibility features they may not have known about.

Digital You also brings an interactive game developed by Common Sense called Digital Compass. It is made to help teach 6th through 9th graders about the real life impact of their digital choices.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Digital You is a new, comprehensive AT&T program that offers tools, tips, apps, guidance and community education events for people of all ages and levels of online experience to learn more about how to have a safe and secure online experience.

Through Digital You, AT&T has collaborated with prominent national organizations like Common Sense and AARP to increase digital literacy as well as local organizations across the country to assemble and promote expert online safety information in a number of formats.

Digital You was designed to further enhance that time online, with information that can help you be safe, secure and savvy during virtual interactions,” said Fred McCallum, president of AT&T Alabama. “We also provide information designed to boost newcomers’ digital literacy skills and empower them to become safer and more secure digital citizens.”

Launched at a time when people are posting about their summer activities and getting ready to go back to school, Digital You helps teach beginners of all ages the basics of using a smartphone or tablet, keeping online information private and secure and activating accessibility features to support users with disabilities through training resources and tips sheets.

Digital You also brings you Digital Compass™, a free interactive game developed by Common Sense to help teach 6th through 9th graders about the real-world impact of their online choices.
