Header

During its Unpacked event at New York City earlier today, Samsung teased its upcoming Gear S2 smartwatch simply by displaying a couple of images on the big screen, but now we’re getting a slightly closer peek at the timepiece by way of some trendy Lookbook photographs.

LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham features many DC Comics heroes and villains

lego-batman-beyond-gotham-100566

LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham has just hit the Google Play Store. The game revolves around Batman, but it offers a twist that we don’t often see in such titles. It literally takes you… beyond Gotham.

And we are not talking about taking a mundane trip to the woods or anything like that. What makes this specific game special is that it features a bevy of super heroes and villains from the DC Comics universe. This would include characters from the Batman franchise (of course), as well as Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash and many others.

Gamers can also unlock suits with special abilities, other LEGO characters (100+) and go through 45 missions outside of Gotham. As you can expect, the mechanics are just as you would expect them to be in a LEGO game. You have a touch of adventure and those quirky jokes Warner Bros is so good at. The user will be moving around certain maps, building and destroying things. There’s the fair share of fighting and puzzle solving, as well.

If all of this sounds familiar, it’s because this is actually not the first time this game was released. It just so happens to have been renamed for the mobile version. This is actually the same as LEGO Batman 3, which was released for other platforms late last year. It’s still an awesome game to play, though. I can say I have never walked away from a LEGO game feeling regretful about my investment.

Want in on the action? Just head over to the Google Play Store and get the game. Of course, this is not a free title. You will have to pay $4.99 for it, but it should be one hell of a game!

Evernote’s cleaner, faster web interface starts rolling out

Evernote’s been beta testing a redesigned web interface since last October. But, after nearly a year of experimenting with the fresh look, the company is finally ready to make it available to all its users starting this week. The main purpose of the new web client is to be “distraction-free,” according to Evernote, thanks to a cleaner, faster and, overall, more beautiful UI. Evernote says the idea isn’t to mimic the desktop apps it already offers, but instead provide easier-to-navigate options and a simple canvas to take notes on — all while continuing to be a powerful productivity tool for people. “Rather than be derivative of another client, we felt it should exemplify the speed and lightness of the modern web,” Evernote said in a blog post. What do you think, though? Do you like or hate it?

OnePlus 2 teardown reveals easy-to-replace modular components

We previewed the OnePlus 2 for you in the past, but if you’d rather see some internal component porn, iFixit has got your back. iFixit has taken the device apart like it did the first OnePlus phone (and many, many other gadgets before it) to examine its inner workings. The eye-catching orange battery is still there and its display parts are still fused (and expensive to replace!), but the OnePlus 2 is apparently more repairable than its predecessor. Many of its components, including the USB-C port, are modular and can be easily swapped out — sure, you might not be repairing it yourself, but it’s still good to know if you’re thinking of getting one. After all, it’s not easy getting your hands on what the company’s touting as the “2016 flagship killer:” you need an invite code to be able to buy it. And if you’re in North America, you won’t even be getting your unit anytime soon.

Jaybird X2 Bluetooth headset announced, even better than its predecessor

jaybird-x2-2

When it comes to Bluetooth headphones, there’s not many good options out there, but Jaybird has managed to become one of those manufacturer we always keep in mind. Their BlueBuds X headphones did amazingly in our review, and the company has improved these even further with the latest iteration. They are called the Jaybird X2 headphones, and happen to look very promising (at least on paper).

In terms of aesthetics, the headphones are really no different from what we saw in the BlueBuds X from a couple years ago. We are struggling to find significant differences, which is definitely not a bad thing, as the design was already great. Specs and features also seem to be nearly identical, with the only difference being that battery life is now estimated at a whopping 8 hours.

jaybird-x2-1

So what did Jaybird change? Apparently the biggest improvement was battery life, and the fact that the fin design has been altered. The difference in the fins must be very slight, though, as I can’t really notice any clear changes.

The Jaybird X2 headset offers quality sound, with audio tuned for studio quality performance. Their PURESOUND technology eliminates white noise and cleans audio. And because these are optimized for active users, the headset is light, sweatproof, comfortable and even features voice commands.

jaybird-x2-4

Of course, the Jaybird X2 headset is also not cheap. This accessory will cost you $179.95, but it’s definitely worth it if you want quality Bluetooth headphones. Are any of you buying these? If you had the previous ones, what did you think of them?

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ are now official; check out their introduction videos

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();

It seems like forever that we’ve known these devices have been coming, but they are finally official – the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ have been announced, and they’re exactly the devices we expected them to be. Both giants and with pretty much identical hardware specs – except for the curvature of their displays, of course – these devices are Samsung‘s bet to stop Apple encroaching on their phablet territory. Check out how Samsung’s introduction videos for both the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ below:

Fox Sports is streaming a Bundesliga soccer game on YouTube

FBL-GER-BUNDESLIGA-BAYERN MUNICH-MAINZ

The Bundesliga, Germany’s top-tier football league, is coming to YouTube. After recently securing US broadcast rights for this competition, Fox Sports has now announced it will stream a live match via Google’s video service on August 14th. As the network points out, it’s the first time one of its major sporting events heads to YouTube, which is going to let people in the US watch the initial game of the 2015-2016 Bundesliga season for free. Not surprisingly, the match between current league champions Bayern Munich and Hanover is also going to be streamed across Fox’s own services: Fox Sports Go, Fox Soccer 2 Go and FoxSports.com.

Up until last year, GolTV had been the home of the Bundesliga in the US, but Fox acquired those TV rights for the next five years starting with the upcoming season. This is part of the company’s push toward televising soccer on a large scale in the US, something that took off when it outbid ESPN for the FIFA World Cup 2018 and 2022. In addition, Fox owns the rights to the UEFA Champions League through 2018, as well as the CONCACAF Champions League — two very important club tournaments. When asked about whether future games could be live-streamed on YouTube, a network spokeswoman said there are currently no plans to do so.

Still, if you’re looking forward to watching the season opener this Friday, it starts at 2:30PM ET on Fox Soccer’s YouTube channel.

Dell has a new awesome 13-inch Chromebook starting at $399

dell-chromebook-13 1Dell has unveiled a new Chromebook called the Dell Chromebook 13. Like all Chromebooks, it aims to bring you a laptop experience for an affordable price. This one goes a little beyond the normal Chromebook experience, but keeps the low price.

dell-chromebook-13-2The Dell Chromebook 13 has a 13.3-inch IPS touchscreen display at 1080p resolution. An Intel Celeron 3205U (dual-core, 1.5GHz) processor, a back-lit keyboard, 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. Battery life is amazing at 12hrs and it is built out of premium materials such as magnesium alloy and carbon fiber, not to mention has a glass trackpad. All this for the low price of $399.

There are also two other models, one with an Intel i3-5005U (2.0GHz) with 4GB of RAM for $529 and the “big boy” model with an Intel i5-5300U (2.9GHz), 32GB SSD, and 8GB RAM for $799. The last model cost a ton for a Chromebook, but it is packing a lot for something that just needs to run Google Chrome.

Google also said the new Dell Chromebook 13 joins the Asus Chromebook Flip and Chromebook Pixel in the Chromebook for Work lineup.

It is set to launch on September 17th in the US and Canada. I’m sure it will be a huge hit with consumers.
