Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 could be coming as soon as August 16
A Xiaomi employee posted on his Weibo account the following: “Do not wait so long to see the side, right? 816 See Beijing.”
This could be confirmation of Xiaomi’s upcoming conference. The company is expected to launch its update to the the Redmi Note 2. According to the employee’s statement, the announcement will be held on August 16 in Beijing, China. Xiaomi has several new products in the works, and is looking to stay on top of the Chinese market in the second half of 2015.
According to a recent TENNA listing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 13MP rear-facing camera, 5MP front-facing camera, and 16GB of internal storage which will be joined by a microSD card slot. The battery inside will be sized at 3020mAh. And the software running on the Redmi Note 2 will be Android 5.0 Lollipop covered by Xiaomi’s MIUI. Other leaks point to an all-metal body and a fingerprint scanner. The upcoming handset measures 152.05 × 76.2 × 8.05mm, and weighs 158.62g.
