TWRP adds support for Qualcomm encryption on the OnePlus One
Owners of the OnePlus One will be happy to know that the latest build of TWRP now supports native Qualcomm encryption for the handset. In an announcement on Google+ earlier today, developer Ethan Yonker (Dees Troy) explained that Qualcomm encryption generally offers better performance than ‘stock’ Android encryption, making this a welcome addition to the custom recovery platform.
AOSP is apparently making the move towards supporting native Qualcomm encryption, likely because it supplies a significant increase in read-write speeds over AOSP’s software method. This means we’ll probably begin to see Google and other OEMs start using this type of encryption on future devices, since Qualcomm already supplies hardware to a huge amount of mobile device manufacturers.

The latest build of TWRP for the One supports the decrypting of CM11, CM12, CM12.1, as well as Oxygen OS. However, there are a few things you need to know before you can get your hands on all of the benefits. The developer explains:
If you didn’t encrypt using CM 12.0 nightly on or after 16th of January 2015, you probably aren’t getting the performance benefits of Qualcomm’s encryption. It also appears that the Oxygen OS team did not add support for Qualcomm encryption. If performance matters to you but you need to be encrypted, then I’d suggest sticking with CM.
