After just over 6 months on the iOS platform, Noodlecake Studios is now bringing out Sunburn! for Android, an indie game that sees you jetpacking around in space trying to save your stranded crew. Judge rules Pandora has to increase royalty payouts to BMI
Pandora’s propensity for litigation is pretty storied by this point, but it seems like the internet-radio outfit’s luck has run out. A New York judge has ruled that Pandora must raise its payout rates to Taylor Swift’s music publishing house BMI, from 1.75 percent of its revenue to 2.5 percent, according to The New York Times. The full ruling is still being kept under wraps at the moment, but naturally, Pandora says it’s going to appeal the decision. Given that an appeals judge recently ruled in the outfit’s favor to keep royalty payout rates from rising, it isn’t clear what could happen in this instance. For artists’ sakes, let’s hope that history doesn’t repeat itself here.

Virgin Mobile USA is giving its Data Done Right customers more data for less money
If you’re a subscriber to one of Virgin Mobile USA’s Data Done Right plans, you’ll soon be able to use more data for less money per month. Starting Saturday, May 16th, the carrier is increasing the amount of 3G/4G data in its Data Done Right single line plans by 500MB, and dropping each tier by $5 per month. Now customers will have access to unlimited text, 300 minutes of talk and 3GB of 3G/4G data per month for $30. If you’d like unlimited talk, text and the same amount of data, that will run you $40 per month.
Folks on the Data Done Right multi-line plans will get an additional 2GB of 3G/4G data per month, though these customers unfortunately don’t get a price decrease. Check out the table below for the updated multi-line tiers:

Zombies, Run! receives a huge update, goes free-to-play
Zombies, Run!, the unique fitness app which first released in 2012, has just been relaunched on Android by developer Six to Start. The zombie running game used to be a paid app, but has now adopted the free-to-play model in its fourth iteration.
For those new to the game, Zombies, Run! is an immersive running game that puts you in the center of a creepy zombie story. Your job is to run for your life while progressing through a post-apocalyptic storyline. You need to collect supplies on your run to rebuild your base, all while running away from the undead. Sounds pretty awesome, right?
Now in the new Season 4, the developer has brought a few notable features to the running platform. Not only can new players download the new version for free, they’ll also get access to part of Season 1, along with the ability to unlock a new mission every week. Legacy players now have access to every mission up until the end of Season 3, in addition to Interval Training and Race Missions and all 150+ story missions for free, as well. Legacy players can now also unlock a new mission from Season 4 every week for free. New players can pay $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year for a Pro Membership (unlimited access to all 200+ Seasons 1-4 story missions plus all game modes), and Legacy players only need to pay $7.99 per year.

[adult swim] games has launched a new title to the Play Store today that follows in traditional [adult swim] over the top comedic craziness. The latest title from the comical bunch is Tofu Hunter and as the name would suggest, you get to blast the crap out of cute cuddle little squares of tofu. As in, the meatless alternative that finds its way on to breakfast, lunch and dinner tables across the world in place of perfectly good things like bacon, hamburgers and meatballs.
[adult swim] games takes the title to the extreme by putting cuddly little faces on the square blobs of tofu, obviously poking the bear that is vegan and anti meat supports out there. Heck, the YouTube trailer and opening disclaimer points directly at vegans. I am all for choice and beliefs, but it is hard to not find the title a little fun. It reminds me of one of Scott Pilgrim vs the World when he goes up against Todd, the Vegan, and defeats him with half & half. At any rate, the title brings along a hunter type gaming aesthetic to it that is reminiscent of Deer Hunter and the likes. You have a plethora of weapons to get your hands on and a variety of hunting locations to do your best and bagging the scurrying little tofu.

– Hunt in a variety of environments, from misty woods to jungle ruins.
– Earn special weapons like crossbows, grenade launchers and the experimental “Omega-3″.

Curtain lifts on first ‘Rock Band 4’ songs
Not to be outdone by Guitar Hero Live, the folks over in the Rock Band 4 camp unveiled the first handful of tracks for this fall’s face-melting simulator. And they’re pretty diverse! As noted on IGN, the half-dozen ranges from Avenged Sevenfold to The Who. Developer Harmonix is debuting gameplay on Twitch with the IGN folks as well. Sadly there’s no word of Deftones, High on Fire, Katy Perry, Mastodon, or Taylor Swift yet, but we still have a long ways before this new tour kicks off. There’s that whole song request form in case there are any dream songs you’d want included, too. Prep your air guitar and jump past the break for the full list.

‘Zombies, Run!’ marks latest update by going free-to-play
Zombies, Run! celebrated the release of version 4.0 earlier this week with some major modifications. The popular gamified exercise app, which used to retail for a flat $4 at the Google Play Store, has switched over to a free-to-play subscription model. The app and gameplay themselves haven’t changed much. Users are challenged to run (literally) a series of 200-plus missions while avoiding the gnashing teeth of an Undead swarm, all within the context of a post-apocalyptic audio drama. Six to Start, the app’s developer, has already released four “seasons” of added content since its debut and will likely continue to do so. However, users will now have to pay $3 per month (or $20 per year) to keep getting these regular updates.
If you want to keep things free, you’ll be able to access just one mission per week outside of the first four from season 1, which can be used an unlimited number of times. Free users also won’t have access to Airdrop or Interval Training missions, nor will they be able to change the run difficulty or track their workout stats. And if you already bought the app before May 13th, don’t worry, you’ll have nearly full access to the entire feature suite. The only handicap for existing users is that they can only run one mission per week from the latest season. Conversely, they will get a hefty discount on the subscription fee moving forward, just $8 a year.

Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen.) briefly spotted on Flipkart’s website
Motorola’s Moto G series has proven itself worthy over the years, offering users a great Android experience without breaking the bank. It’s been awhile since the Moto G (2nd Gen.) made its way to the public, and it looks like we’re finally starting to hear some rumors regarding the next handset in the G line. The Moto G (3rd Gen.) recently made a quick appearance on Flipkart’s website, though not much information was given about the handset.
Aside from specifying the color and on-board storage options, the only real bit of information we have from the listing is the handset’s model number, which is listed as AP3560AD1K8. It should be noted that the 2014 Moto G carried model number XT1068, which is an odd contrast from this new model listing. This could also just be a placeholder model number, with the phone’s real specs not going live until the device is listed for sale on the website.

The listing has since been taken down, so there’s no way to find out any additional specs on the leaked handset. Previous rumors have suggested that the device will bring a Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM and either a 5 or 5.2-inch 1080p display. Although the listing doesn’t tell us much, it may be a hint that we could see the device launch before September of this year.
Pirated Windows 10 installations will rock a desktop watermark
You dirty Windows pirates will have to live with a constant reminder of your crimes come Windows 10. Pirated versions of the new operating system will be stuck with a desktop watermark reminding users of their non-genuine status, Microsoft EVP of operating systems Terry Myerson said in a blog post today. The announcement comes after Myerson confused the tech world a few months ago by declaring that pirated versions of Windows could partake in Microsoft’s free upgrade offer for Windows 10. It turns out that’s not exactly true: The company later said that non-genuine installations would have to go through the Windows Store to upgrade to Windows 10, which was a strong hint that it would make pirates pay. Myerson notes today that Microsoft and its partners will offer “very attractive” genuine upgrade options for pirates.
“Non-Genuine Windows has a high risk of malware, fraud, public exposure of your personal information, and a higher risk for poor performance or feature malfunctions,” Myerson wrote. “Non-Genuine Windows is not supported by Microsoft or a trusted partner.”
With Windows 7, pirated installations occasionally display messages reminding users of their misdeeds. Additionally, those users only have access to critical Windows updates, not optional ones. We’d expect Microsoft to use similar tactics for Windows 10.
Myerson’s earlier comments made it seemed like Microsoft was going to offer free Windows 10 upgrades to pirates mainly to fix the massive piracy issues it’s facing in China. While that seemed a tad overly ambitious, even for Microsoft, the current plan still leaves room for an easier upgrade path. It could offer free or very low-cost upgrades for non-genuine installations going through the Windows Store in China and other Asian countries, for example, while making users elsewhere in the world pay more.

Some Trader Joe’s Stores Accepting Contactless Payments, Including Apple Pay
Popular grocery store chain Trader Joe’s has installed new NFC-compatible VeriFone touchscreen checkout terminals in some of its stores, allowing for contactless payments. First noticed by AppleInsider, some of these stores with the new payment terminals are accepting Apple Pay, which works at any location that allows for contactless payments.

MacRumors has verified that Apple Pay works in some Trader Joe’s stores. In Raleigh, North Carolina, we were able to make a purchase at Trader Joe’s with the Apple Watch using Apple Pay.
Not all Trader Joe’s stores have the new payment terminals at this time, and not all stores with the new terminals are accepting Apple Pay via NFC. The Apple Pay logo is present on the checkout terminal, however, suggesting Trader Joe’s is perhaps considering becoming an official Apple Pay partner.
Trader Joe’s is known for its high-quality low-priced products, and it has more than 400 locations across the United States. If Trader Joe’s becomes an official Apple Pay partner, it will join other grocery store chains like Whole Foods, Dick’s Fresh Market, Winn-Dixie, Bi-Lo, Food Maxx, Lucky, Meijer, Sprouts, and more.
