Popular American prepaid carrier, FreedomPop recently announced its intentions to launch its services in the UK. The carrier has now mentioned that this plan will officially come to fruition starting in July this year.

Customers of the service will receive 200 minutes of voice, 200 texts and 200MB of cellular data for free, which is enough to attract customers towards its offering. The carrier hopes to bring its services to other regions of Europe as well as Asia in the future. They are reportedly planning to get about 100,000 customers in the UK this summer, which might be a realistic target considering the demand for low cost carriers in the UK.

The carrier will also offer the ability to get a new SIM for a foreign country using the same number. This will let you make foreign calls at local call rates, saving you plenty of money. This service is said to cost £2 when it is revealed in a couple of months. There have been plenty of low cost carriers launching in the UK recently, so FreedomPop will fit in well.
