Is HTC working on its own variation of Android Auto?
New markets are always being analyzed by comapanies because of their ability to expand profits. Home automation, wearables, and virtual reality are all being flooded with new products. The automobile market, though, has been slowly seeing the arrival of new platforms and complementing hardware. Current options include Google’s Android Auto, Apple’s CarPlay, and MirrorLink. Later this year, HTC could be involved with its own variation of Android Auto. On Reddit, one poster shared the front page release note for a device going by the codename “Cello.”
The release note shows that special components are being used. Night Vision, Sonar, Mini HMI (Human Machine Interface), DVD, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Lane Departure Warning System, Navigation and GPS are all named. Some of these are not available through Android Auto at this time.
Interestingly, HTC has apparently worked with Android 4.4 KitKat to operate Cello. That could change by the time it is introduced to the world.

Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S6 preorders will start shipping early on Monday, April 6
The official launch date for the Samsung Galaxy S6 is Friday, April 10, but that’s not stopping carriers like Sprint from shipping phones early.
Sprint, as it would turn out, has opted to follow down the path of T-Mobile and start shipping the Samsung Galaxy S6 early.
Regarding Apple Watch trademark and Switzerland
There’s a trademark in Switzerland that might complicate an Apple Watch launch in that country — except Apple has yet to announce one.
The trademark, for a logo showing a stylized image of an apple with the word “APPLE” in italics cutting horizontally across the middle, was filed in 1985 and expires this December.
The trademark is in the news thanks to RTS and Reuters, who picked up their report yet somehow managed to misidentify the nature of the intellectual property claim as a patent instead of a trademark.
All of this is currently moot, however, because Apple hasn’t announced an Apple Watch launch for Switzerland yet. That means there’s nothing to “hit” and really no story at all. Not unless and until Apple announces a launch for Switzerland that comes before the expiration date on the trademark.
For now, we have 9 countries enough to worry about come pre-orders on April 10 and release on April 24.

Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S6 to ship on April 6
Earlier today, Sprint announced that it would ship the Galaxy S6 to customers on April 6. That means, following Monday’s shipment, devices will arrive on customers’ doorsteps this week. The carrier does ask that people still pre-order the Samsung flagship so they get it as quickly as possible.

Grab the Nexus 6 off Amazon for as low as $584
One criticism about the Nexus 6 was that it didn’t share the same cheap price-point that the other devices in the Nexus lineup did, but Amazon have given the device a price drop.
Amazon is selling the unlocked 32GB blue version for just $583.90 – that’s 10% off! In addition, the white 32GB version is $597.94, with the white 64GB version $671.17.

How to set up the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge
The Galaxy S6 has a pretty extensive setup process, but it accomplishes a lot the first time you turn your phone on.
While it sure would be nice for every phone to have the same exact setup process when you first turn it on, that just isn’t the case. Even within manufacturers, new versions of software usually bring a new setup process, and while they may be familiar they aren’t always the same. The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge guide you through the process pretty smoothly and get a lot done in just a few steps — let us walk you through it.
Vine remembers it has a Windows Phone app, finally updates it
When Vine revealed its newfound HD ambitions last week, your author wondered out loud whether the company’s long-in-the-tooth Windows Phone app was ever going to get an update again. Well, the answer is a pretty definitive yes: Vine pushed out the update earlier today, and with it comes a new look, support for Vine messaging and the ability to import videos straight from your camera. (Oh, and for those keeping count, the last time Vine updated the app was over a year ago. Seriously.)
You’ll be able to edit those clips once you’ve imported them into the app proper, too, just to make sure your six second slice of life is as heartfelt/inane/ridiculous as it truly deserves to be. None of this’ll sound terribly novel if you’ve been watching the iOS and Android versions of the app grow and develop (to wit: the importing and editing features went live for iOS users last August) but it’s nice to be reminded that Microsoft’s mobile platform isn’t completely being ignored by the app-makers that could make or break it.

OnePlus’ OxygenOS, based on Lollipop, arrives for the One
The process of software updates on Android has been riddled with issues for years. Few companies push timely software updates and most fail to do so before the next version of Android is announced. So consumers are left with devices running outdated software for months. Fortunately, owners of the OnePlus One will see quicker updates with the company’s new OxygenOS. OnePlus has released OxygenOS, which is based on Lollipop, with a focus on items that matter. OxygenOS features gestures, customization, and quick settings. The point made with it is to keep things “light and essential with subtle, useful features.”
Hit the break for a walk-through of OxygenOS’ top features and a link to the installation guide.

OnePlus urges One owners with OxygenOS installed to help them tailor and shape the software by utilizing the feedback app.

[Deal] Select Nexus 6 models discounted at Amazon
There was once a time when Nexus devices were considered affordable. Now they cost just as much as any other flagship device. So any discount on a Nexus device causes consumers to take notice. After all, the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 do start at $399 and $649 respectively. Both of them are, surprisingly, discounted this weekend. We learned yesterday that Best Buy was selling the Nexus 9 for $75 less than normal. Today, we found out that Amazon has select Nexus 6 models discounted. The discounts, which keep changing, are for all models except the Nexus 6 64GB in Midnight Blue. The models that are discounted will keep about 8% in buyers’ pockets.

Customize your alarms with Nightly Clock – 1500 free copies available!
When it comes to waking up for work, I am not a morning person. I usually have to set two alarms each day and that is after hitting the snooze buttons countless times. Now while our phone does come with an alarm clock function and the ability to set multiple alarms, there is no harm in utilizing other applications that offer more functionality. One that fits this description is Nightly Clock which I previously shared with you in the BlackBerry App Roundup.
