Case in point is WhatsApp and voice calling. New articles are making their way around the internet noting WhatsApp’s voice calling feature as coming to Windows Phone “soon” and “in the works”.

Microsoft has starting rolling out the public Xbox One firmware update for the month of April, which adds the What’s On section in the menu for the US, UK and Canada markets and offers a number of improvements for other features.

Android users the world over were treated to quite the change of pace last year when the folks from the newly formed Cyanogen Inc. and a spinoff from Oppo launched a new high-end phone with a mid-range price tag. The OnePlus One is a little late to the party, but Android 5.0 — in the form of Cyanogen OS 12 — is finally on its way. This update brings all of the Lollipop goodness with a few extra Cyanogen bits tossed in, and the end result is a decent step forward for all OnePlus users.

Livid Instruments has updated their wireless Guitar Wing MIDI controller with support for direct connections to you devices over Bluetooth LE.

Apple introduced support for direct MIDI connections over Bluetooth LE with OS X Yosemite an iOS 8, and with a firmware update, the Guitar Wing will work with this new connection on either platform. The update allows people to use their Guitar Wing with their Apple devices while consuming less power.

The Guitar Wing first debuted as a Kickstarter project in early 2014. When attached to an electric guitar or bass, the accessory allows users to control effects in any program that works with MIDI input. The controller works with applications like Abelton Live, Apple’s Logic, and Livid Instruments’ own WingFX. You can grab the Guitar Wing from Livid Instruments for $189.

We are just over a week away from the launch of Mortal Kombat X on the Xbox One and today the launch trailer for the upcoming graphic fighting game shows us how brutal and dramatic it will be when it comes out April 14.

Microsoft’s Windows 10 promises to bring a unified front to developers who previously had to pick a platform to write their app on. Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 have seen middling releases, although the pain was less on Windows due to it being able to run legacy x86 software. Xbox One development, on the other hand, is only open to those companies with deep budgets.

Windows 10 looks to fix all of that as developers can write for all, with only minor changes between the platforms, as well as the new holographic computer platform called HoloLens.

ReddX is a Reddit app for the Xbox One and evidently, it will be jumping to all platforms sometime in the future, including HoloLens.
