LG G4 Pro rumoured to still be in the pipeline. Somewhere.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();

For some time now, we’ve been hearing about a larger LG G4 device called the LG G4 Pro – or LG G Pro 3, depending on who you ask. It was previously billed as a “super-premium” smartphone by LG executives, but all news of it has disappeared until now, with leaker @OnLeaks confirming that there are still plans for the device – though nothing beyond that is available. LG’s LG G4 is 5.5-inches and many would say that is already close enough to a phablet-sized device – thanks to its thin bezels, the LG G4 manages to be quite compact, so there is space in LG’s lineup for a larger device, perhaps even with a stylus, though that’s all up in the air at the moment.

http://platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsPrevious rumours for the device pegged it to have the new Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM and 27MP camera, which kind of sounds more like a wishlist than a genuine rumour. What we do know is that the Snapdragon 820 won’t be sighted in a device until at least Q1 or Q2 next year, a period when LG should be readying its LG G5 for launch – no doubt the launch of another flagship device could cause some timing issues.

What do you think about the LG G4 Pro? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Turn your phone into a baseball speed radar with Scoutee

scoutee-1

Baseball pitchers throw many balls and some may seem to be faster than ever, but it’s hard to determine true speeds without expensive, bulky equipment. Scoutee aims to end all your pitching woes by becoming your very own portable baseball speed detector, providing you with all the data you need to improve your skills or impress friends, coaches and even scouts.

As it goes with many of these innovative startup products, the Scoutee is being crowd-funded on Kickstarter. So far it has collected over $22,000 out of the $50,000 pledge goal, but this is a very promising number considering the campaign is new and still has 30 days to go.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/scoutee/scoutee-the-worlds-first-smart-speed-radar/widget/video.html

What is this Scoutee thing all about, then? This is a tiny devices that can be attached to the back of your phone, or one can simply place it anywhere and connect to it wirelessly. The idea is that it needs to be able to capture the baseball’s movement. It’s small and literally fits in the palm of your hand. After being put to action, Scoutee can measure ball speeds and transfer all data to the official app via Bluetooth (works with both Android and iOS).

The Scoutee and its app can do much more than just measure ball speeds, though. This gadgets can also determine parameters such as type, location and results. Then all the data gets saved in the application, so you can keep a detailed record of your progress. Furthermore, the user has the ability to record a video of his/her pitching technique while it measures the speed. It uses the phone’s camera, then simply overlays clips to your data so you may further improve your skills or show off what your current competence.

scoutee-5

Oh, and other types of athletes need not be jealous. The Scoutee team claims Scoutee actually works with any ball, so everyone can take advantage of this new product.

Want in? We have to tell you right off the bat that this thing won’t exactly be affordable. The Scoutee is expected to cost $299 upon official release. The good news is Kickstarter backers will be able to score one at a much lower price. The super early bird offers are all gone by now, but some of you will still be able to get it for $149. When that offer ends, the Scoutee can be had for as low as $169.

scoutee-6

Not cheap, but definitely a good discount over the final price. And it sure beats carrying all that old radar equipment we are used to. Just go and visit the Kickstarter page to learn more about Scoutee. But don’t forget to hit the comments and tell us what you think of this new gadget. Are you getting one? Also, can you think of any other more convenient or cheaper alternatives?

Lucky Customer Receives Rose Gold iPhone 6s Nearly Five Days Early

A visual designer named Adrienne from San Diego, California is among the first customers to receive the brand new iPhone 6s, nearly a whole five days before the latest smartphone launches in the U.S. and eleven other countries.

Adrienne shared photos of the new iPhone 6s on her Twitter account on Monday afternoon, noting that her pre-order from AT&T arrived much earlier than expected. The all-new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus officially launch September 25.

iPhone-6s-First-Customer
Apple each year requests that couriers like UPS and FedEx hold new iPhone deliveries until the same day the smartphones become available in stores, but a few lucky customers often receive their devices ahead of time due to logistical error.

Adrienne also shared unconfirmed Geekbench 3 screenshots that show the iPhone 6s has a single-core score of 2292 and a multi-core score of 4293. The iPhone 6s is also benchmarked against several other iPhone and iPad models.

Omate has a smartwatch that runs Lollipop and makes phone calls

Let’s face it: deep down we probably all have wanted a smartwatch made by wearables company Omate that runs Android 5.1. Okay, that’s an overstatement. But there are at least a few folks out there that fit this bill and they’ll likely be pretty pleased about the news that the new call-capable TrueSmart+ is Lollipop flavored. The company took to Facebook to announce that both the TS+ and its slightly cheaper sibling will hit sometime either late October or in November for $169 and $149, respectively. Oddly enough, the pricier model doesn’t have a built-in camera like its predecessor but Omate says it has a TSi model with one.

What the TS+ does pack, however, is fancy rubber straps that do double duty concealing WiFi, 2G and 3G antennas and a Micro-SIM holder that’s apparently pretty similar to that of an iPhone. Oh, and that 1.54-inch screen’s been upgraded to 320×320 resolution , while the Android 4.4-powered TSi rocks a 240×240 display of the same size. Preorders open September 22nd and that window closes on Halloween.

We are excited to announce two newborns in the Omate family: the TrueSmart-i and the TrueSmart+ are going to leave the…

Cinnamon Toast Crunch handing out free ‘Selfie Spoons’

selfie-spoon

The relatively new selfie trend is going nowhere by this point. There’s a whole market revolving around the self-imaging movement! LG went as far as braking a selfie Guinness world record. ASUS, BLU and Polaroid even put the word “Selfie” in some of their phones’ names. And as much as many of you hate them, selfie sticks are more popular than they have ever been. What’s next?

Out of all the ridiculous things we have seen come from the selfie realm, today’s subject is likely one of the craziest. Like many of you, the guys at Cinnamon Toast Crunch have been wondering what the best way to take breakfast munching selfies is. They came up with the perfect solution – the Selfie Spoon!

OK, so this may not be the gadget of your dreams… or maybe it is. Regardless, the coolest part about it is that it’s completely free. You only need to pay shipping and handling fees, which amount to $7. If you really want to share morning selfies of you grubbing away on cereal, you can make your dreams come true with this eccentric accessory. Not to mention, this could also be used as a regular selfie stick.

There is a bit of bad news, though. There’s a high demand for these Selfie Spoons, so Cinnamon Toast Crunch ran out of units. You will have to wait until tomorrow for the next batch to arrive. Just keep trying every morning while you are having your cereal. It’s not like you will be taking selfies, anyways. Right?

Order your own Cinnamon Toast Crunch Selfie Spoon!

FlightAware Once Again Offers Tool to Track iPhone Pre-Order Shipment Flights

Apple began shipping iPhone 6s and 6s Plus pre-orders on Saturday and now FlightAware, a site that offers live flight tracking, has once again begun offering a tool that allows users to track the flights carrying their iPhones after they receive their tracking number. FlightAware also offered the tool last year.

flgithaware
FlightAware says that users who have their UPS tracking number can use their tool to match their “departure scan” with one of the departure times listed in their tool to determine which flight their iPhone is on. The tool will be updated as FlightAware learns more about Apple’s shipping strategy for the new phones.

Currently, many flights are on their way to Louisville, Kentucky’s Worldport, which is UPS’ worldwide air hub. Additional flights are on the way to Ontario, California.

Those who have not received their UPS tracking numbers can track their packages by reference on UPS’ website. To do so, users have to fill out the “track by reference” form and input the phone number listed on their Apple account, the zip code its shipping to and country. This tactic may only work with pre-orders made through Apple.

upstracking
The first iPhone 6s and 6s Plus shipments are expected to arrive Friday, September 25. However, sometimes lucky customers receive their phones early due to shipping errors. Apple has ended launch-day pre-orders and in-store reservations for the two new phones and will not offer walk-in sales for them at Apple Stores in Delaware, Hawaii, Alaska, New Hampshire, Oregon, China, Hong Kong and Japan.

MacRumors readers may also want to join in on the dedicated pre-order threads on the forums, where users are sharing tracking information and socializing while waiting for their new iPhones.

Google releases revamped Wallet for iPhones and iPads

Apple’s mobile devices are never going to get Android Pay, but Google has released its repurposed Wallet app for iOS anyway. Just like its Android counterpart, the app is now decked in green (with the new logo!) and focuses on person-to-person payments. If you’ve never used it before, note that you can use Wallet to split tabs with friends, send and receive payments, which you can then cash out to a debit card. It doesn’t look like Mountain View listed it as a separate download on iTunes like it did on Google Play, so you can just update your old app to get the new one.

BuzzFeed’s Apple Watch app is a needy virtual pet

BuzzFeed's virtual pet game on the Apple Watch

When you install an Apple Watch companion app, you typically expect something that reflects the experience you get on your iPhone. News on your phone means news on your wrist, for instance. That’s definitely not the case for BuzzFeed‘s app, though — instead, you’re treated to nothing less than a Tamagotchi-style virtual pet. Install it and you’ll have to keep a gem-like critter happy by traveling, eating pizza, listening to music on its couch and otherwise hanging out. The experience will seem more than a little familiar if you had one of these digital pets as a kid (read: it may get annoying over time), but it’s at least easier to deal with on a watch than it is hanging off your keychain. And let’s face it, this is probably going to be more entertaining than scrolling through GIF-heavy list articles on a tiny screen.

Omate_TrueSmart+_Smartwatch_092115Omate just silently unveiled its new TrueSmart+ smartwatch. Similar to its predecessor, the TrueSmart smartwatch, it runs a full version of Android 5.1. It may seem like a long shot, but Omate aims to replace your smartphone with this one.

The Omate TrueSmart+ smartwatch features a rectangular display measuring 1.54-inches. It has a resolution of 320 x 320 which has become the standard for most modern day smartwatches. It’s powered by a dual-core MediaTek MT6572M processor with a full GB of RAM backing it. Omate decided to include 8GB of internal storage doubling the 4GB of space found on the majority of smartwatches. A beefy 600mAh is included and sensors such as WiFi, GPS and more have not been left out. You’ll get all the fitness sensors found in current day smartwatches in addition to a MicroSIM slot for cellular connectivity. The device runs Android 5.1 with the company’s OUI 3.0 on top of it. Owners can download apps through Omate’s app store included on the device.

Pre-order registrations are live at the source link for only $169. The device will begin shipping in early November.
