ConvenientPower launches wireless charging pad for devices with metal backs

by John_A

samsung-galaxy-s6-wireless-chargingConvenientPower has announced a new wireless charging pad that will allow devices with metal backs to take advantage of the convenient charging method. The charging pads are designed with Qualcomm’s licensed WiPower wireless charging in mind, so this should open up tons of possibilities for manufacturers when designing mobile devices.

The wireless charging pads will be called Wow(me) and will work with all devices, not just metal-backed phones. It also shares the same positive qualities as any other Rezence certified chargers, including the ability to charge multiple devices at once and a total output of 10 watts.

While it’ll probably be awhile before we start to see consumer devices take advantage of this, it’s a positive move forward towards standardizing wireless charging.
