Amazon takes down listing of Fire Phone

It seems that Amazon has stopped production of its Fire Phone. The smartphone is currently listed as “unavailable” on the company’s website and includes a side note that says it doesn’t know when or if the item will be back in stock. It looks like this could be the end of the road for the device.

Amazon was devastated with the sales of its Fire Phone and has decided to move on. It doesn’t look like Amazon will be releasing another Fire Phone in the future, however recent reports have suggested a budget tablet is in the works. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard any details since the initial rumor.

During its time to shine, the Fire Phone only managed to sell about 13,000 devices. Which was far off the company’s predictions. If you happen to be still interested in buying one, you’ll have to try an snag one on Ebay when they pop up.

Recently, one of Amazon’s chief executives stated the company was laying off dozens of employees. He/she also gave us a brief overview of the company’s upcoming plans for the remainder of 2015 year. We’ll keep a close eye on any news associated with the company’s plans moving forward.
