The FBI needs your help finding 250 sextortion victims
Lucas Michael Chansler is a 26-year-old sexual predator sentenced to 105 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of child pornography production. Over several years, he tricked roughly 350 teenage girls from 26 states into giving him explicit pictures of themselves by posing as a teen boy and befriending them online before threatening to distribute the photos on social media. He was eventually tracked down to his Jacksonville, Florida home when one victim reported his extortion attempts to the FBI and the The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. While the Feds have been able to locate more than 100 of his underage victims, nearly 250 young women have yet to be identified. And that’s where you come in.
“It’s important that we find these girls so that they don’t have to be looking over their shoulder, wondering if this guy is still out there and is he looking for them and is he going to be coming back,” Special Agent Larry Meyer said in a statement. “Some of these girls, now young women, need assistance. Many probably have never told anyone what they went through.” To identify victims, the FBI has posted a list of aliases, email addresses, MySpace accounts and AIM logins Chansler used. So if you suspect that you, or someone you know, may have been victimized by this creep, contact the FBI or NCMEC right away.

HTC One E9+
HTC has released a slew of high-end devices following the launch of its flagship One M9, and such device is the HTC One E9+. Sony Xperia Z3+

Udacity to reimburse all Nanodegree students half of their tuition upon graduation
Online university Udacity has just announced a new plan to make it more affordable for enrolled students to finish their programs. Starting Wednesday, July 8th, Udacity will extend its ‘half-back’ tuition refund program to all upcoming Nanodegree students. This means that every student enrolled in these programs will now get 50 percent of their tuition cost back, provided they complete their program within 12 months of enrollment.
The ‘half-back’ promotion was first introduced in May as an experiment, and thanks to overwhelming student response, the online university is extending the promotion to the rest of the Nanodegree program participants.
Google and Udacity announced the Android Nanodegree back at Google I/O 2015, which promises to cover everything from fundamentals to advanced development skills, on top of Google Play services and Material Design. The Android Nanodegree takes anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to complete if students spend 10-15 hours per week, and costs $200 per month. Udacity currently has over 8,600 students enrolled in its six Nanodegree courses, which likely saw a huge increase in enrollment numbers thanks to the Google/Udacity announcement. Android gets nearly 5,000 new strains of malware per day
Analytics firm G DATA has new data about malware in Android. In its Q1 2015 Mobile Malware report, it explains that almost half a million new strains were discovered from January to the end of March. To put that into perspective, this means that a new strain appears every 18 seconds, which equates to about 5,000 a day.
Supposedly, Android apps allow for easier access than their iOS counterparts. Indeed, if that is true (and it probably is), it is easy to see why Android is more likely to catch the attention of hackers. TechSpot adds that a recent study by Pulse Secure suggests that around 97% of this malware targets Google’s OS. This is 6.4% higher than for Q4 2014 and almost 21% higher than Q1 2014.
Online banking and online retail only compound the problem. According to G DATA, since about 78% of internet users shop through sites and about 50% use their mobile devices for online banking, hackers are more likely to create subscription hacks, ransomware, and remote money transfers scams.
Although the numbers might be surprising, the reality is not. There is a reason why there is such a vast selection of anti-virus and anti-malware apps on Google Play. As a precaution, it’s a good idea to read reviews of some of these and choose an option, if you have not yet done so.

OnePlus 2 will officially have 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM
OnePlus has revealed today that the upcoming OnePlus 2 will sport 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. This is the latest and fastest type of RAM available on the market, and in addition to that, the new Snapdragon 810 processor that will be running on the new device can take full advantage of it while lowering power consumption.
This is what was posted on the OnePlus forum website explaining why they chose this type of RAM;
“Why did we choose LPDDR4 for the OnePlus 2? Another notable benefit is lower power consumption for better battery efficiency. That means you’ll be able to use your favorite apps (and more) without draining the battery. With LPDDR4, you get twice the bandwidth performance as the LPDDR3 at the same power consumption profile.”
“Not only will the experience on the OnePlus 2 be smoother and sleeker, but your battery life will benefit as well.”
