HTC One M8 on AT&T Lollipop update now pushing out as promised
AT&T is now pushing out the Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 update, just as they said they would.
Carriers tend to promise things all the time that they don’t actually deliver on, but this time AT&T has delivered. AT&T’s Mo Versi promised that the Lollipop update would begin rolling out for the HTC One M8 on April 7, and the update is here.

Instagram has long been a staple in social media. While it may not be the largest, nor the most widely used, many people are slowly beginning to make the change over. It’s easy to see why though, as Instagram has done a great job in trying to stay current and offering new features. Back in December of last year, they introduced some new filters and features as part of their creative tool update. Today, they are adding two new tools: Color and Fade
The Color tool allows you to tint the highlights or shadows in your photos. The color choices are yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, cyan or green, which are more than enough to make any picture you post a memorable one. The other tool that was added is the Fade tool. This allows you soften the colors in a photo to make the picture appear to be more tranquil and mysterious.

JXE Streams: We conquer our fear of ‘Dark Souls 2’ on PS4
It’s been just under two weeks since Bloodborne brutalized me on JXE Streams. After years of building up the gumption to actually tackle one of From Software’s vicious action role-playing games, I finally braved its rank, monster-filled hallways. Know what? I loved it; the tension, the terror and the challenge are intoxicating. Not content to only explore Bloodborne‘s Victorian nightmare, I’ve decided to finally try its swords-and-sorcery predecessor, Dark Souls 2. We streamed Dark Souls 2 when it came out on PC in 2014, but this is the brand new PlayStation 4 version. We’ll play it for the first time live, for your pleasure.
Tune in right here, to Twitch.tv/Joystiq or at the top of Engadget.com/gaming at 3PM ET to check out the first two hours of Dark Souls 2. Have we played it before? Never. Are we going to die a whole hell of a lot for you? You know it.
If you dig the stream, please make sure to follow us on Twitch! That way you’ll know when we go live. If you want to know what we’ll be streaming in the coming weeks, bookmark Engadget.com/gaming to check out our schedule.

Designers Imagine Fanciful Concepts for What an Apple Car Might Look Like [Mac Blog]
Job site Freelancer.com recently hosted a contest that called on designers to imagine what the rumored Apple Car might look like. We don’t have any details on the car that Apple is said to be developing, so the designs submitted to the contest have no basis in reality.

That said, it’s a fun look at how different designers took Apple design aesthetics and applied them to imaginative, futuristic car renderings. The contest had 193 submissions, with the winning vehicle, from Aristomenis Tsirbas, featuring a flat design with smooth curves and sliding doors.

This concept explores a semi-autonomous electric car in the minimalist tradition of Apple design. It features external high resolution LED screens front and back for user selected headlight/taillight designs. Many of the popular entries had similar futuristic designs and explored different car types from traditional sedans and sports cars to vans and trucks. This third-place Volkswagen Bug-style Apple Car from user Maximchernysh features purple accents, a wide frame, no side windows, and a generous number of Apple logos.

While all of the designs are fanciful, some of the renderings look like they came straight from a science fiction novel. This tiny shark-shaped Apple car from DearbornDesign rides low to the ground and has a front panel for entry.

The winning entry, which is the one at the top of the page, received a $1,500 prize from Freelancer.com for getting the most likes during the contest. All of the different car designs people imagined can be seen over at Freelancer.com’s contest site.
We haven’t heard much about the actual Apple Car in recent weeks as media attention is largely focused on the Apple Watch, but work on the car is still ongoing under the codename Project Titan at an unspecified location near Apple’s Cupertino headquarters. We’ve learned little about the car, but we know that it may resemble a minivan and is being worked on by hundreds of employees.

Samsung’s upcoming round smartwatch will be be called the Gear A, can make phone calls
We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming Samsung smartwatch. We know it’s round, and we thought it might be called the Orbis, but it appears that’s the code name.
It looks like it will be called the Gear A. Samsung will offer two versions, one with basic Bluetooth connectivity, and the other with 3G support. Both will have Wi-Fi as well, and the 3G version will also be able to make phone calls.
SamMobile was also able to obtain all the model numbers, which include…
- SM-R720 (non 3G)
- SM-R730 (3G)
- SM-R730A (AT&T)
- SM-R730P (Sprint)
- SM-R730V (Verizon)
- SM-R730T (T-Mobile)
- SM-R730S
- SM-R732S (SKT)
- SM-R732K (KT)
- SM-R732L (LG U+)
With Android Wear gaining steam and the Apple Watch launching very soon, can Samsung be successful doing their own thing?
