Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 to be held from June 8-12

Apple will hold it’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 8-12, 2015.

WWDC 2015 will once again be held at Moscone Center West in San Francisco, California. Registration is open to any member of the iOS Developer Program, iOS Developer Enterprise Program, or Mac Developer Program.

Apple is currently taking registrations through Friday, April 17 at 10 am PST (1 pm EDT). Like last year, after registration closes, Apple will hold a random drawing to assign tickets. Developers will be informed by Monday, April 20 at 5 pm PDT (8 pm EDT). Their credit or debit card will automatically be charged $1,599 at that time.

The WWDC keynote, held Monday at 10am PT, 1pm ET, is where Apple typically provides the first preview of the company’s next generation operating system and services. This year that would include iOS 9 ‘Monarch’ and OS X 10.11 ‘Gala’. There are also rumors that Apple could reveal a new versions of its Apple TV set-top box, as well as a new music service.

Lara Croft: Relic Run is coming to the iPhone and iPad soon

Lara Croft: Relic Run, starring the lead character from the Tomb Raider game series, will be released worldwide on the iPhone and iPad in the coming months.

Publisher Square Enix and Tomb Raider’s main developer Crystal Dynamics are working with mobile game developer Simutronics on this new free-to-play title. Square Enix says:

Many of you have correctly mused that Relic Run is an adventure runner, and at its core it is, but we feel that it’s much more than that. Relic Run offers a massive amount of diversity in play, allowing for seamless transitions between acrobatic-inspired running, combat, vehicles, and epic boss fights, including but not limited to the return of the infamous T-Rex.

Like the other games in the Lara Croft brand, Relic Run will scratch your itch for nostalgic play – big adventure, over-the-top action, and loads of collectibles coupled with fast-paced play.

If you live in the The Netherlands, you can go ahead and download Lara Croft: Relic Run from the iOS App Store. Square Enix is soft launching the game in that country so it can work out all of the gameplay issues and bugs before its worldwide launch.

Most Apple Watch try-on appointments reportedly leading to watch sales

It appears that most customers who have made try-on appointments for the Apple Watch so far have ended up purchasing one.

While online pre-orders for the Apple Watch on Friday, April 10 were estimated to be somewhere in the neighborhood of one million watches, we now have a better idea of how try-on appointments might be working out. Analysts at Cowan & Co. are estimating that up to 90% of customers who had a try-on appointment for the Apple Watch at several Bay Area Apple Stores ended up buying them, according to Fortune:

We found several dozen salespeople per retail store who each had several dozen Apple Watch appointments during store hours. Based on our discussions, these showings are translating into Apple Watch pre-orders ~85-90% of the time.

Now, these numbers are only for stores in one city. However, it’s unlikely that the Bay Area stores would be an extreme outlier, even if they saw a higher number of watch purchases than stores around the world. People making appointments to try on an Apple Watch are also more likely to want one already.

Pre-orders and try-on appointments for the Apple Watch are open now, with the devices beginning to ship to customers on April 24. However, many customers will be waiting into May or June to receive their watch.
