T-Mobile denies allegations of throttling data speeds of Unlimited 4G LTE data plan users
The CEO of T-Mobile, John Legere, has been quite open about almost everything that pertains to the mobile industry. And amidst allegations of the carrier throttling speeds of the users on its Unlimited 4G LTE data plans, he has now categorically stated that these allegations are false.
It was claimed by some users on Reddit that the carrier has throttled their speeds after surpassing about 20GB of usage. On the same Reddit post, some T-Mobile employees came in defence of the carrier suggesting that throttling only happens if there is increased traffic on its towers.
To summarize, these employees suggested that in a scenario where there was a lot of data traffic, the carrier automatically prioritizes speeds to users who have spent lesser amount of data that month. While this makes sense, it doesn’t seem fair to the customers, especially when they were promised that data speeds will not be throttled.
Are you facing similiar issues with the carrier’s Unlimited 4G LTE plans? Let us know. In the meanwhile, you can catch Legere’s statement on the entire issue made during the earning’s call from the video below.

App of the Day: Boldomatic
We as human beings have been communicating with one another for centuries. Whether it has been via spoken language, written words or graphics images, we have always found a way to express things to our fellow human. It should thus come as no surprise that we are always finding news ways to continue that legacy of communication, from sending pictures to one another to text messages. Communication in our modern day era is always just a finger press away. Today our App of the Day exemplifies that tradition by offering us another tool for which to express what we are thinking to the masses, whether we decide to do so anonymously or sign our name to us, Boldocmatic lets us choose.
“Boldomatic is the #1 network for quotes, sayings and everything text. Shameless, partially offensive, yet strangely profound.“
Boldomatic is a recent app that has been called “Instagram for Text” due to its easy to use interface and its main core purpose of sharing images, though in this case, the images center on text. Text, you say? Yes, text. For the sole purpose of Boldomatic is for users to be able to share their thoughts, favorite quotes, poems, or whatever the written language has hidden away in your head. Boldomatic allows you to share these textual images to others using it own sharing network, or any of your own favorite ones, from Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, Camera Roll and more. Once you have jotted down that poem you have been working on, and meaning to send to that cute girl in your English class, then you can share it with the rest of the world, either as you or as an anonymous contributor. Exciting, isn’t it?

Microsoft Windows 10 will allow for Android apps
Microsoft is determined to stay relevant in a world that is run almost completely by Android and iOS devices, with over 96% of the mobile market under their combined belt. That unfortunately only leaves about 4% for Microsoft and other manufacturers Well, Microsoft is not one throw the towel and give up, as today they have announced that they will be releasing some new tools that will help developers port over their existing apps for Android and iOS with as little work as possible.
Android developers will be given the ability to use Java and C++ code on Windows 10, so they won’t have to rewrite their entire apps code from the ground up to get it to work on Windows 10. iOS developers will be able to continue to use their existing Objective-C code, so they will have a little less of a hard time. All welcome addition for those few that may have been dying to port their apps over to Windows from either platform.
Microsoft is hoping that by easily allowing developers from both rival competitors to easy port their code over to Windows, they will be more willing to do so, since they will no longer be looking at having to either rewrite the entire apps code or have to learn a complete new programming langue to start development on Windows.
While this idea, in theory, sounds like it could be a great boon for Windows, reality is that there will likely not be many devs that are going to want to make the move over, no matter how easy the move may be. With Android and iOS holding such a major share of the mobile market, it would make more sense for devices to instead focus on improving their apps on their current platform instead of wasting resources to port it over to Windows.
Only time will tell of course as to whether this move will indeed help propel Microsoft back to the forefront of the mobile industry.

Google’s Messenger app now gets support for SMS replies from the notifications tray
Google has just updated the Messenger app for Android, which brings the much needed quick reply feature for texts. With this update, you will finally be able to reply to an incoming SMS right from the notifications tray, saving you the trouble of having to manually open the Messenger app to draft your reply.
The update doesn’t seem to have any other major changes, but this is quite a significant addition from a convenience standpoint. The Messenger app can be used as the default SMS app for devices running Android 5.0 or above.
So if you have a smartphone with Lollipop, make sure you give this a go. Messenger comes installed by default on devices like the Nexus 6.

Adidas and Spotify offer another way to soundtrack your run
Adidas and Spotify are already quite friendly, especially when it comes to supplying workouts with the proper tunes. The duo teamed up for offline playback on the Adidas SmartRun watch and soundtracking a jog with the help of RunKeeper. Now, there’s an Adidas Go app that varies music based on movement tracked by your iPhone’s accelerometer. Using that piece of smartphone tech, the app measures stride rate and matches songs from Spotify’s library — based on your listening habits — to help you keep pace. When the run is over, stats like time, distance and pace can all be reviewed, saved and used to calculate your Adidas MiCoach RunScore. And if you’d like, you can save the collection of tracks the music service piped in along the way, too. Ready to lace up those sneakers? Well, you’ll need an iPhone 4S or later to take advantage of the free app that’s available at iTunes now.

Android’s official texting app offers replies from notifications
Hangouts may be Android’s star messaging app at the moment, but Google is still willing to show its original Messenger client a little TLC. The company has updated its basic Android texting app with support for quick replies from notifications. While the feature isn’t quite as slick as what you get in iOS’ Messages (where the notification itself has a reply box), it’ll save you from constantly switching apps when you’re juggling a rapid-fire conversation alongside your usual phone tasks. Grab the upgrade today if you want some of Google’s latest bells and whistles without having to use Hangouts as your SMS software of choice.

Samsung’s Mobile Business Sees Major Profit Drop Following iPhone 6 Launch
During its Wednesday earnings call, Apple rival Samsung Electronics reported net profit of 4.63 trillion won ($4.35 billion) for the January to March quarter, a 39% drop from its net profit of 7.49 trillion won in the year ago quarter. A sizable portion of the lost profit came from Samsung’s mobile division, which brought in 2.74 trillion won ($2.5 billion) in the first quarter of 2015, vs. 6.43 trillion won in the first quarter of 2014.
Despite the year over year profit loss, Samsung’s earnings release highlighted its quarter over quarter improvement and pointed towards increased sales of middle-end smartphones including the Galaxy A series. Samsung doesn’t divulge its smartphone sales, but analysts believe the company sold 83.2 million smartphones during the quarter, compared to Apple’s 61.2 million.

The high number of sales let Samsung regain its title of the worlds largest smartphone maker, but many of those sales were for lower-priced phones and not flagship devices, causing it to lose profit year over year. Much of Samsung’s profit loss can be attributed to the introduction of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, letting Apple devices compete with Samsung devices on screen size for the first time.
Ahead of the launch of the two larger-screened iPhones, big screens were a feature that set Samsung devices apart from iPhones and drew customers for the South Korean company, but with the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus, Samsung has lost some of its grasp on customers seeking devices with bigger displays.
Samsung expects its profits to increase during the second quarter following the global launch of the company’s new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and on the strength of its semiconductor business. According to Samsung, demand for its curved S6 Edge has been high, but limited supplies have restricted sales.
Google Now card now drops you a notification when an item you looked for goes on sale
Google Now has received several updates over the past few months, bringing along some much needed changes. The most recent addition allowed integration of a myriad of third party apps, letting you get tailored cards from them in the Google Now page.
This new addition however takes it a step further as Android’s default personal assistant/notifications hub can now tell you when an item that you previously searched for is going on sale. This is a useful feature for people who do almost all of their shopping online.
We frequently find ourselves in a situation where an item is out of stock and we forget about its existence a few days later. This new Google Now feature will ensure that you’re in the loop about the product’s availability at all times. Google Now cards will also appear when there are price drops for an item, which again is a very handy feature.
This feature should be spotted by the users over the coming days. Make sure you let us know if you’re seeing it on Google Now already.

Evernote has just announced the addition of a new ‘Plus’ plan to its tiers of available options, in addition to the ‘Basic’ and ‘Premium’ plans. This will set you back by $2.99 per month or $24.99 if you’re looking to make yearly payments. The ‘Premium’ option on Evernote is seeing an upgrade which now offers unlimited storage and bigger individual note sizes. You can now have all your content in one place without needing to switch apps, which makes this the best option for enterprise users. This will cost $5.99 per month or $49.99 per year.

If you are already paying for Evernote Premium, your prices will be locked in till April 29, 2016, so you won’t have to pay the extra amount that’s mentioned here.

Samsung posts profits of $5.63 billion for Q1 2015
Korean manufacturer Samsung has just posted its first quarterly results of the year and the figures look pretty impressive. The company raked in overall revenue of KRW 47.12 trillion or $44 billion with an operating profit of KRW 5.98 trillion or $5.63 billion.
When we compare this with the same duration last year (Q1 2014), it is a drop of 30%, which will cause some concern for the company. However, with a Strategy Analytics report suggesting that Samsung was the top OEM in terms of shipments yet again, things are certainly looking good for the company.
We must mention here that these revenues don’t take the sales of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge into account as they were only made available for purchase earlier this month. So the upcoming quarterly results could give us a better idea of how well the two flagships have done in the markets so far.
