Pocket celebrates third birthday with completely redesigned web interface

by John_A

Pocket WebPocket, one of our favorite apps for saving content to read later, is celebrating its third birthday this week. The app has been around a little longer than that, but it was previously called Read It Later. The change to Pocket signified a new direction for the company, and several years later it’s turned into one of the best apps on Android.

To mark this birthday, Pocket has refreshed the design of its web app, making it significantly more accessible no matter what device you’re using. The web page for Pocket has been decent, but certainly nothing to brag about. This update changes that with many small changes making the web experience nearly as good as what you’d expect in a native Android or iOS app.

The new interface features a persistent menu bar, similar to the mobile apps, plus a night mode, small UI changes like progress bars, a permanent shorcut to bulk edit for users that save and manage tons of content. These changes add up to a pretty significant refresh, and it’s a very welcome change for anyone that uses Pocket regularly.
