Amazon cuts pricing of the Moto 360 to as low as $179 / £163
Amazon has just lowered the pricing of the Moto 360 to as low as $179 for the model with a leather strap.
The Moto 360 price has been cut on Amazon, bringing the leather strap model down to $179 and the metal to $229. These price cuts bring the device to the cheapest that it has been yet, which is not all that surprising at this point in the product’s life cycle.

Apple’s fixed a serious OS X security flaw, but only for Yosemite users
There are times in life when you wonder what it is that you’ve done to deserve such neglect from those you hold dear. It’s a feeling that plenty of Mac users will be experiencing today as Apple has announced that it found a serious security flaw in OS X, but will only fix it for users of the latest version. If you aren’t running Yosemite, which was updated yesterday with the relevant patch, then you’d better get it, and quick.
The long story here is that the flaw enables nefarious types to get root access to your system by exploiting a backdoor API in the system preferences app. Essentially, this enables any hacker to make themselves the administrator of your computer, with all of the terrible consequences that come with it.
The flaw was discovered by security researcher Emil Kvarnhammar at TrueSec back in October, but has actually existed since at least 2011. According to AppleInsider, Apple has declined to make the fix work for Mavericks and Mountain Lion users because of the “complexity of the fix.”
Did we mention that you should probably get onto the Yosemite bandwagon right now? Because that’s something you should be doing right now. It’s still free, you know.

Samsung will launch Avengers-themed accessories for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge
Back when Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, consumers quickly edited an image of the Emerald Green Galaxy S6 Edge to include a photo of the Hulk.
At that time, Samsung Mobile global marketing lead, Lee Young-hee, suggested that they might offer an Avengers Edition of the phone assuming they could strike a deal with Marvel to include themed wallpapers and such. Now Samsung Electronics Vice President of Design for Samsung Mobile Lee Min-hyuk is saying that fans will be able to enjoy cases based on each character in the upcoming Avengers movie.
Unfortunately, no word on exactly when these accessories will be available, but we can only assume they will be released before the movie releases on May 1.
If the Avengers aren’t your thing, accessories from various fashion brands will also be offered. Some of the names thrown out were Kate Spade, Mont Blanc, Swarovski, Buttons, Rebecca Minkoff, and Romero Britto.
Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are now available worldwide. Are you picking one up today?

Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge go on sale today: 15 things you should know

Samsung’s big day is here. Following a weak 2014 and deep inroads from competitors, Samsung is poised for a better year, and it all starts with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
Going on sale today in 20 countries, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are probably the hottest Android devices in a long while. Here’s a bird’s eye view of the most important things you should know before and after buying Samsung’s shiny new toys.
1. Check out the reviews
If you’re still not convinced that the Galaxy S6 is right for you (or is it the Edge?) our reviews may help you make up your mind.

2. The competitors
There are some really good Android alternatives out there: the One M9 is coming out just today, the Note 4 remains a great option for power users, and the G4 is just around the corner.

3. How is it better than the iPhone?
You’ll hear this question a lot, especially if you live in the US. So here’s what you should know.

4. Availability
The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are available from all major carriers and retailers, with prices starting at north of $650 unlocked, and an extra $100 for the Edge version. For the top tier 128GB models, the unlocked price can reach close to $1000. Of course, you can opt for two-year contracts or monthly installments, which will make the cost much more manageable.
5. Colors
The Galaxy S6 is available in black, white, gold, and blue. The Galaxy S6 Edge is black, white, gold, and green. However, both exclusive color options (blue and green) will only be made available at a later date. Plus, depending on where you get your device from, you may be offered only some of these colors.

6. Storage
There is no microSD card slot on the Galaxy S6. That means you should really pay attention to which storage option you get. Options are 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, but you’ll pay a hefty premium for the upper tier.
7. Battery
The battery is not removable on either the S6 or the S6 Edge. But even if capacity is smaller than on the S5, battery life is about the same.
8. Wireless charging
If you have a wireless charger laying around, it’s very likely you’ll be able to use it with the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge out of the box. That’s because the devices support the two biggest standards, no special accessory required.

9. No waterproofing
The Galaxy S5 was water resistant, but the Galaxy S6 and its curved sibling aren’t. While modern smartphones are can typically handle a little water, you don’t want to risk your warranty. If you absolute must have water resistance, there’s talk about a Galaxy S6 Active, coming later this year.
10. Edge tips and tricks
If you opt for the Edge, you’ll definitely want to know what you can do with that eye-catching curve.
brightcove.createExperiences();
11. Is the Edge fragile?
Put simply, it’s not as fragile as it looks, like this slam test and this drop test show.
12. S6 Edge availability
The Samsung CEO stated that, due to manufacturing issues, there will be a limited supply of S6 Edge units in the beginning. In other words, if you want an S6 Edge soon, you should probably try to buy it as soon as possible.

13. Freebies
T-Mobile offers a free year of Netflix, while Best Buy throws in a free wireless charger. There are other retailers that try to sweeten the deal as well, so keep an eye on your options. Regardless of the retailer, Samsung offers 100GB of free Microsoft cloud storage for each purpose.

14. Samsung Pay
Samsung made a big deal of its new Pay service. The bad news is it will only launch in the US and South Korea this summer, so unless you are willing to wait it out, Samsung Pay should not be a reason to buy the new S6 and S6 Edge.

15. Improved fingerprint sensor
Even if the Galaxy S5 fingerprint disappointed you, you may want to try it on the Galaxy S6, as it’s much easier to use now.

Chainfire releases FlashFire BETA, the ‘spiritual successor’ to Mobile ODIN

Chainfire, the renowned developer behind SuperSU and many other apps, has just released a Preview Beta build of his upcoming FlashFire application, which he calls the “spiritual successor” to the popular Mobile ODIN firmware flashing app for Samsung devices.
FlashFire, much like Mobile ODIN, is an app used for flashing custom ROMs, kernels and other mods, without having to go through the usual recovery screens. It’s a powerful tool designed to make customizing your Android experience that little bit easier. Once you have root access, FlashFire can install OTA updates and ROM files, automatically adding SuperSU while doing so, and can be used to make full backups and to restore your system. Eventually, the app will include some additional premium features for paying members. Existing owners of Mobile ODIN Pro will receive all these feature for free.
Although it may appear to simplify several key processes, this app is not for the inexperienced, especially in its current beta state. It might be best to wait until the full version is out, along with the full documentation.
If you’re still interested in trying FlashFire out early, you will need to join the Google+ community for Beta access and be sure to read through the XDA thread thoroughly for some instructions. Currently, the tool is designed to work with Samsung and Nexus handsets, although others will be added in the future and some may work already. Of course, be extra cautious if experimenting with unsupported devices.
Star Wars collection goes digital April 10th, $89 through Google Play (Update: live now!)
Update: As expected, the Stars Wars collection is now available on Google Play! For those that don’t want the whole collection (for $89), you can individually buy episodes for $20 a piece.
Over the years Star Wars has made its way over to a variety of different platforms including VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray. It’s 2015, though, and digital is the future. For the first time ever, the entire six movie collection is making its way to the digital arena, though Google Play, Amazon, and several other online services.
Starting April 10th, Disney will offer up the collection as a whole or you can buy your favorite movies individually. The collection is set at $89 through the Google Play store, with each movie costing $20 a piece. For those wondering, the digital release is the “Special Edition” with newer effects and extras added in. There’s also bonus features like documentaries, interviews, deleted scenes and more.
For Star Wars purists, Disney has no plans to release the “original” unmodified Star Wars early episodes on digital at this point, though there have been rumors that this might happen for the Blu-Ray edition, so anything is possible. Now only one question still remains, will you be watching through all the movies in episodic order, release order, or using the Machete order?
Apple Watch Sold Out in Less Than 6 Hours as Shipping Times Slip on All Models
Apple has officially sold out of Apple Watch stock to be delivered within the April 24 launch day timeframe, as shipping times for all models have slipped to 4-6 weeks or later less than 6 hours after pre-orders started at 12:01 AM Pacific today. Apple Watch Sport models were the first to sell out, with delivery estimates shifting to 4-6 weeks, and then June, on the Apple Online Store in the United States.
The stainless steel Apple Watch retained fairly better shipping estimates after the pre-order window opened, with most models available to ship in 4-6 weeks after the first hour of availability. The 38mm Stainless Steel Apple Watch with Black Classic Buckle was the last model to maintain its original April 24th to May 8th shipping time, finally slipping at approximately 6 AM Pacific.
It appears that prospective buyers of the Apple Watch Edition will have a difficult time getting their hands on the 18-karat gold watch before summer, as shipping estimates for those models slipped to June-August almost immediately after pre-orders became available. Apple Watch Edition stock will also be limited to select Apple Stores in the United States and other launch countries.
Apple confirmed on Thursday that it expected Apple Watch demand to exceed supply upon launch, although it is unknown how many devices the company made available for pre-orders. Multiple reports in recent weeks claimed that Apple Watch stock would be limited at launch, possibly due to manufacturing delays or, as some critics suggest, an attempt to generate artificial hype for the wrist-worn device.
