Get a free Motorola Hint with off-contract Moto X purchase through April 14th
Motorola unveiled the Moto Hint last year as an option for someone that wanted a completely hands-free way to interact with their phone. It’s one of the most advanced Bluetooth headsets on the market, which mostly justifies its high $150 price tag.
If you’ve been eyeing the Hint but haven’t wanted to drop that much cash on a cell phone accessory, you might be interested the newest deal Motorola is offering. From now until the 14th, if you buy an off-contract Moto X, they’ll toss in a Hint, completely free. The only catch is that it does have to be an off-contract device, so you won’t be able to use a carrier upgrade to qualify. But with the new Moto X starting at just $499, it’s not a bad deal.

Apple Launches Comprehensive New Siri Website With Categories, Example Requests
Apple today launched a newly updated Siri website, which gives a comprehensive look at the voice assistant built into the company’s iOS devices. The site opens with a quick overview of what Siri can do, and then provides users with a list of categories featuring Siri’s different abilities: At a Glance, Staying in Touch, Getting Organized, Sports, Entertainment, Out and About, Getting Answers, and Tips and Tricks.

Talk to Siri as you would to a friend and it can help you get things done — like sending messages, placing calls, or making dinner reservations. You can ask Siri to show you the Orion constellation or to flip a coin. Siri works hands-free, so you can ask it to show you the best route home and what your ETA is while driving. And it’s connected to the world, working with Wikipedia, Yelp, Rotten Tomatoes, Shazam, and other online services to get you even more answers. The more you use Siri, the more you’ll realize how great it is. And just how much it can do for you.
Each category offers a look at the different commands that Siri can work with. “At a Glance” gives a quick rundown of a random assortment of questions that can be asked, like “When is the sunset in Paris?” and “What movies are playing today?” while other categories offer a more specific selection of available commands.
“Getting Organized,” for example,” includes commands specific to apps like Calendar and Reminders, such as “What does the rest of my day look like?” and “Remember to pick up dry cleaning next Friday.” “Entertainment” includes commands like “Show me the trailer for Boyhood” and “Buy the latest season of Homeland.”
Each of the pages offers a look at features many iOS users might not have known Siri was capable of, and they’re organized in a compelling grid-like view that’s easy to read and outfitted with pictures for visual appeal.

Apple previously had a site that offered information on Siri, but it was just a single page that offered more of an overview of what Siri can do rather than something more specific that drilled down into actual commands. The new Siri site offers a much deeper look at Siri’s abilities.
Today’s Siri website revamp follows the release of iOS 8.3 that added new Siri languages and the ability to make voice calls over the speakerphone using Siri. Apple has also added new Siri features to several additional countries, making local search, directions, and more available in countries like Brazil, Denmark, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, and Turkey.

Xiaomi just sold 2.12 million smartphones in 12 hours

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi may not be the most prominent device maker in the world, but they’re sure trying to change that. At the company’s Mi Fan Festival 2015 in celebration of its 5th anniversary, Xiaomi discounted quite a few popular smartphones and accessories in hopes to achieve record-breaking numbers. As it turns out, they did just that.
By the end of the 12-hour long festival, Xiaomi sold a total of 2.12 million smartphones and recorded a total revenue of RMB 2.08 billion (~$335 million US). This is compared to the 1.3 million phones sold at last year’s festival. In addition, the company sold over 38,000 Mi TVs, 200,000 Mi Bands and 247,000 Mi Power Strips. Xiaomi says total revenue from accessories alone totaled roughly RMB 190 million.
Xiaomi sold devices in seven different regions this year, with Malaysia, India and Indonesia being added to the list this time around.
In 2014 alone, Xiaomi sold a little over 61 million smartphones worldwide, which bumped them up to the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Obviously the company won’t produce results like this every day, but boasting 2.12 million devices in a mere 12 hours is a feat that not many OEMs could accomplish.
With Xiaomi’s anticipated growth of 30% overall this year, the company may be well on their way to achieving that goal.

Total revenue of RMB2.08 billion
9 April 2015 – Mi Fan Festival 2015, the huge online party held to celebrate Xiaomi’s 5th birthday, ended on a high yesterday after Xiaomi achieved its best-ever single-day online sales performance. The company announced today that it sold 2.12 million phones and recorded total revenue of RMB2.08 billion (about US$335 million) over 12 hours.
Mi Fan Festival 2015 was concurrently held in seven markets this year. For the first time ever, Malaysia, India and Indonesia joined the party too.
With its latest achievement, Xiaomi beat its own record last year for the number of phones sold and total revenue during Singles Day 2014. Halfway through the event at 4.04p.m., Xiaomi already announced total revenue of RMB1.57 billion, surpassing the full-day results of both Mi Fan Festival 2014 and Singles Day 2014.
The 12-hour-long event proved that Xiaomi is truly an Internet company, with the e-commerce model being an extremely successful way of reaching its users. The company also sold a variety of products other than smartphones.
Over 38,000 Mi TVs and over 770,000 smart appliances were sold, including 200,000 Mi Bands and 247,000 Mi Power Strips. In fact, revenue from accessories stood at RMB190 million after 12 hours.
Xiaomi also demonstrated its commitment to fast delivery, with 500,000 orders shipped in 12 hours and the first order reaching a customer at 11.27a.m. – just 1 hour 27 minutes into the sale. In total, 3.05 million orders were made online over the course of 12 hours.
In 2014, Xiaomi sold 61.12 million smartphones and recorded total revenue of RMB74.3 billion. Analyst firm IDC ranked Xiaomi as the top smartphone vendor in China last year.
