Trends are a great part of what makes Twitter such a great social experience. Being able to see what others are tweeting about and then taking part is what allows users to connect in ways that otherwise would not be possible. Though while the trends feature might be great, the way that it has been implemented via the Twitter app has not always been perfect. Thankfully today, Twitter has announced an update to their Android mobile app that changes the way trends are handled.
First off, #discover has been removed and trends will now see their home be in the search page. So now instead of having to go to another page entirely to see trends, you will see them directly in the search page. The other notable change is the way trends will now be displayed to the user. Instead of just showing the #trendphrase, you will now see a small description detailing what the trend correlates too. All in all, these are some great added features to the Twitter app that are definitely a welcome addition.

Google announces Android Wear watch faces exceed 1,000 and new straps are here
On the same day that Apple Watch reviews are being published online, Google has made an announcement regarding Android Wear. The wearables platform, which currently focuses solely on smartwatches, now offers more than 1,000 watch faces to its users. Google proudly says there is “a watch face for everyone.” Notice the abundance of them featured in the mosaic above. Watches faces cover fashion, fun, and information.
Adding to the overall style of any Android Wear smartwatch is the wider selection of straps. Most of the devices available with Android Wear support the standard 22mm bands, so Google has highlighted options from select strap makers. This week, the Google Store will have a curated set of options for consumers to choose from.
Hit the break for a look at some of the new straps.

LG details the G4 camera’s secret weapon: 80% more light
If you liked the camera on last year’s LG G3, you’re going to love what’s in the G4, the company says.
Continuing its trend of showing off features before actually showing off the phone, LG has given us a little more detail into the camera system on its 2015 flagship smartphone, the LG G4.
The G4 will have a 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture — just a smidge wider than that of the already impressive Samsung Galaxy S6 — meaning it’ll help you take better pictures in darker environments. How much darker? LG says the camera on the G4, developed by the LG Innotek sister company, will let in nearly double the amount of light of the LG G3, which impressed us in its own right.

‘Battlebots’ reboot will air on ABC June 21st
We knew the Battlebots TV show would crawl out of its early 2000s grave for another six episode run on ABC, and now the network has announced when. Sunday April 21st at 9PM, Battlebots will once again light up screens with robot vs. robot combat, now enhanced with the elimination of weight classes, the addition of onboard cameras and “a greater emphasis on the design and build elements of each robot.” The competitions didn’t actually stop once Comedy Central turned the TV lights out in 2002, so in a few months we should see how a decade or so of maker culture has advanced the sport — as long as the producers’ desire to add backstory doesn’t get in the way. Hey, it can’t be worse than Fuller House.

“BATTLEBOTS” – PREMIERES SUNDAY, JUNE 21
“BattleBots” is a reimagined take of the killer robot combat sport from Whalerock Industries and the creators of the original “BattleBots” franchise, Ed Roski and Greg Munson. The homemade robots will battle against each other, in a single elimination tournament style format, until there is one champion. The six episode series features next generation robots – bigger, faster and stronger than ever before. The show will have a greater emphasis on the design and build elements of each robot, the bot builder backstories, their intense pursuit of the championship and the spectacle of the event. Separate weight classes will be eliminated so that robots of all sizes will battle against each other. State of the Art Onboard Technology and Cameras will provide audiences with enhanced viewing and combat analytics. There will be cash prizes for winners in the Championship Rounds. MGM Television, which has a development deal with Whalerock Industries, will be distributing the program internationally. Executive Producers are Lloyd Braun, Chris Cowan, Ed Roski and Greg Munson.

Dell announces the 10.5 inch Venue 10 7000 with attachable keyboard
Dell has announced the bigger, better version of their Venue 8 7000 tablet. The Dell Venue 10 7000 tablet is keeping the weird naming conventions with a slight change for the bigger 10.5 inch screen. The specs are mostly unchanged from last time around, but Dell has a made a few improvements in the form of accessories and the battery.
The Venue 10 sports an odd cylinder on one of its edges that houses a battery and stereo speakers. The battery will supposedly last 7 hours on a single charge, and it also forms a dock for a keyboard that Dell is selling with the tablet. Once the keyboard is attached, you can swivel the entire device around like the newer convertible laptops that are available.
Other hardware includes a 2k screen, Intel’s RealSense cameras with a matching Atom processor, and 32 GB of internal storage. It’ll run Android 5.0 when it releases later this month, and you’ll be able to buy one for $499, or $629 if you want to spring for the keyboard with it.

Have you heard of Foko before? If you’re like me, you probably haven’t. So, when I heard they were releasing their app for BlackBerry 10, I decided to look into it a bit further and find out more about the service which has been widely referred to as ‘Instagram for Enterprise’ and is headed up by CEO Marc Gingras, who was previously CEO and Founder of Tungle, which later sold to BlackBerry.
Fatal Escape arrives for BlackBerry 10 – Android and iOS to follow later in the year
Another potentially addictive game has hit BlackBerry World. Fatal Escape from ovogame (who gave us Smiley’s Pop and Jump Birdy Jump) is a platform scrolling game and using just a screen tap you must maneuver your cube as far as possible. One wrong move and it’s game over though.
