Huawei SnapTo handset spotted on Amazon with a $180 price tag

Huawei has been making the push to bring more midrange and budget devices to the U.S. The company has now launched the SnapTo handset in the country through Amazon. The smartphone is available in black and white color variants with a price tag of $179.99, thus competing with the likes of the Moto G in the midrange market segment.

The SnapTo comes with a 5 inch 720p display, the aging Snapdragon 400 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 2,200 mAh battery.

The smartphone also supports certain LTE bands from AT&T and T-Mobile (bands 2, 4, 5 and 12). While Android 4.4 KitKat might not strike as attractive to many out there, it can be overlooked considering that this is a budget device. But with that being said, the likes of Moto G, Moto E etc are running Android 5.0 out of the box, so the standards have certainly been lifted by OEMs. There’s no word on whether Huawei will start rolling out the Android 5.0 update to the SnapTo anytime soon.
