Razer’s Forge TV set-top box can now be pre-ordered from Amazon For $149
Ever since Google launched its Nexus Player set-top box, we’ve been waiting for the flood of Android TV devices to hit the market, so far though it’s been slim pickings. One Android TV set-top box that is on the horizon is Razer’s Forge TV bundle that was originally due to arrive back in February, but is now up for pre-order on Amazon.com.
In terms of hardware, it can be said that Razer’s Forge TV is what Google’s Nexus Player should have been as you can see from the list of high-end specifications below:
- Android TV
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Quad-core @ 2.5GHz
- Adreno 420 GPU
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage
- USB 3.0 port
- Bluetooth 4.1/WiFi 802.11 ac
- Ethernet port
Besides running Android TV and being able to download and install apps from Google’s Play Store, the Forge TV can also stream PC games although that functionality is only due in the 2nd quarter of 2015. The Razer Forge TV bundle includes the set-top box as well as a game-pad and is now available to pre-order on Amazon.com for $149.99 with a release date of May 1st.
