Apple’s Jimmy Iovine reportedly attempting to poach artists from Jay Z’s Tidal music service
While promoting his newly-launched music streaming service Tidal, Jay Z talked about being in competition with Beats co-founder and current Apple music honcho Jimmy Iovine.
Tidal, a competitor to the Apple-owned Beats Music, already has agreements with several artists for exclusive releases. Iovine has reportedly been attempting to lure some of those artists to Apple’s music service. Speaking to Billboard, Jay Z says that he isn’t mad about this, but he thinks Iovine needs to take a larger view of the situation:
I think that’s just his competitive nature, and I don’t know if he’s looking at the bigger picture: That it’s not about me and it’s not about him; it’s about the future of the music business.
Iovine has previously been reported to be in talks with artists regarding exclusive albums for iTunes, though it’s likely that those exclusives would also come to Beats Music. Apple is currently said to be planning a relaunch of Beats Music as a service inside the iOS Music app, with a relaunch reportedly planned for around WWDC 2015.

New drone video shows off construction progress of Apple Campus 2
A newly posted video showing drone-based footage of the Apple “spaceship” Campus 2 construction shows its progress very clearly, with parts of the building rising from the ground.
The video was posted by 9to5Mac reader Brandon Elwood, who recorded the new footage in 4K resolution. It mostly shows shots taken outside the Campus 2 limits in Cupertino, California, but there is a few seconds of footage that are taken from right over the parts of the building that are coming up from the construction site.
Be aware that this is not an officially sanctioned video from Apple but rather from a interested fan. Campus 2 began construction in mid-2014 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. It will be the work space for 12,000 employees inside over 2.8 million square feet.
