Apple Sapphire Supplier GT Advanced Technologies Removed From NASDAQ Exchange [iOS Blog]
Apple sapphire supplier GT Advanced Technologies’ woes continue today with the announcement that it will not appeal the suspension of its stock on the NASDAQ stock exchange. As part of this decision, the company’s stock is no longer being traded on the NASDAQ stock market effective today, October 16. This removal was expected and is the result of the company’s recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
GT Advanced Technologies Inc. today announced that it will not pursue an appeal of the determination by The NASDAQ Stock Market LLC (“NASDAQ”) to suspend trading in the Company’s common stock based on the Company’s voluntary petition for reorganization relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. The Company has been informed that NASDAQ will suspend trading in the Company’s common stock effective at the opening of the market on October 16, 2014.
GT’s stock plummeted 90 percent following its bankruptcy announcement earlier this month, and has continued to fall since then, closing at just 44 cents per share yesterday. The stock will continue to trade under the symbol GTATQ on the OTC Pink marketplace.
As part of the original deal, Apple made three loan payments to GT totaling $440 million and said it was working with GT to help overcome technical challenges to qualify for the fourth and final prepayment loan of $139 million. Apple also appeared set to delay scheduled repayments on the debt. But under the weight of difficulties that began at least as early as February, GT found itself unable to carry on its business operations and filed for bankruptcy with plans to shut down its sapphire production facilities.

Nexus 9 finally shown off in real pictures and videos with keyboard case
The Nexus 9 is easily the most hotly-anticipated Android tablet of the year and over the past few days has shown its face in teaser videos, renders and cartoons, and while we may have to wait until later this month to get our hands on one, Techrum user tdiddy-2 has uploaded a ton of photos of the upcoming tablet to the Vietnamese forum. Thanks to Italian site Webtrek we also have a couple videos of the tablet in action. The official keyboard case also makes an appearance in the photos. Hit the break for the motherload.
As you can see from the photos, the keyboard case seems to fit quite nicely and allows the front-facing BoomSound speakers to blare media with no issue. The cover is a “smart” cover and also features a mechanical keyboard. Are any of you planning on picking one of these up? Or is that old-school 4:3 screen ratio a dealbreaker? Sound off in the comments and scroll down to see the Nexus 9 in action!

Here are the first camera samples from the Nexus 6
Nexus phones traditionally have average to lousy cameras, and I am not expecting anything different with the Nexus 6. Let’s face it, Motorola makes great hardware, but camera quality is something they never figured out.
Google’s Nexus 6 page has the term “More epic shots” with the 13 MP rear camera and f/2.0 lens. I continue to remain skeptical since I have already seen what the Moto X (2014) is capable of doing.
Now with all that said, the first camera samples have surfaced. As one would expect, the outdoor shots look pretty good, but the indoor shots look okay, with many of them showing some blur.
Take a look at them for yourself and let us know what you think.

Will.i.am reveals Puls, a monstrous smart-cuff with a focus on fashion
Will.i.am has been talking about launching a smartwatch for a long time now, and finally unveiled the device at Dreamforce. The Puls is a device that wraps around your wrist, allows you to access popular social networking and has a built-in virtual assistant. But don’t call it a watch, Bill prefers you call it a cuff. “Watches don’t have SIM cards”, the multi-platinum artist proclaims, clearly clueless about the Samsung Galaxy Gear S.
The Puls by will.i.am’s own i.am+ company features the ability to place calls and texts, and access Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media services. It also features turn-by-turn navigation and AneedA, an atrociously spelled Siri-competitor. It charges via plastic claw, not unlike the cradles prominent on most current smartwatches, though down the road Bill plans to launch a charging jacket for the Puls, claiming that either way the cuff charges in less than an hour.
This is the first of many “fashionology” related products to be released by i.am+. The company also has plans to launch a pair of glasses strictly for taking photos, to be used in tandem with the Puls. The Puls will run an unnamed version of Android and will feature a curved screen, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Will the Puls be able to compete in a market that is already packed with competition or will it fade into obscurity? Let us know what you think in the comments and hit the source to read an interview with the oblivious will.i.am.
