Samsung Galaxy Tab available in Israel
The Samsung Galaxy is on an all out, world-wide blitz (I’m in defensive NFL mode, its Sunday) ready to take on the ever demanding and popular iPad.
Israel is the latest, adding another location the Samsung Galaxy Tab is available. The tab will be offered exclusively by Cellcom where it’ll cost 89NIS ($25 US) per month in 36 installments, which adds up to 3,604NIS ($900 US). The only Galaxy Tab available is the 16GB version, not the 32GB . If you decide to grab this Galaxy Tab, the purchase requires an additional 89NIS ($25 US) monthly data plan.
Samsung Focus review

Even though we’ve seen a torrent of Windows Phone 7 devices, we couldn’t leave you hanging on a review of the Samsung Focus. In the last few days, a flurry of new Microsoft-powered devices have hit the market, boasting slight differences, but all looking and acting largely the same. We’ve taken a deep dive on the operating system itself, the Omnia 7, Optimus 7, Mozart, HD7, and Surround (phew!) — now it’s time to focus on the, er… Focus. The device itself has a lot in common with its European brother, the Omnia 7, boasting the same 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 8GB of internal storage, 1GHz CPU, and 5 megapixel camera. The device will soon go on sale in America for $199.99 on AT&T’s network — in fact, it’s the only Windows Phone 7 device you’ll be able to buy on the network when they go public on November 8th. But is it really worth your hard earned cash when there are so many other options in the market? Read on for the full Engadget review to find out! Read more
Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S delayed until November
Previously thought to be coming in October, Samsung has admitted that the planned Android 2.2 upgrade for its Galaxy S smartphones will be rolled-out in November instead.
Currently, the new OS is being tested by all of the UK operators that carry the handset, and they will begin to allow their customers to download and install the system from the early part of the month. All operators are expected to have completed their appraisal processes by the end of November.
When available, Froyo will be available to download via Samsung’s Kies, the company’s in-house software upgrade programme, which itself has been updated. Owners will need to download the latest version of Kies from samsungmobile.co.uk before upgrading. The site will also host step-by-step video tutorials on how to install the OS.
The long awaited update includes several new features, including improved browser performance, Google Maps with navigation, the latest version of Flash, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, and the ability to save applications to memory card.
Speaking about the process, Simon Stanford, managing director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland, said: “We want the upgrade process to be simple and hassle-free for customers, hence the new version of our Kies software and the step-by-step video guides”.
HTC 7 Mozart and Samsung Omnia 7 on sale today on Orange UK
We knew Windows Phone 7 was scheduled to land first internationally, but it’s always a treat to hear the particulars. Orange UK has just (re)revealed that it’ll be the exclusive carrier of HTC’s 7 Mozart across the pond, and it’ll be joined by Samsung’s Omnia 7 as both go on sale tomorrow morning in Orange’s Oxford Street shop — fittingly, at 7am local time. Naturally, the carrier is going to blow out the launch, with each customer buying a WP7 handset to receive a complimentary Bluetooth headset… while supplies last, anyway. You’ll also get a stockpile of Orange applications and services (like it or not), and we’re told that each phone will be offered for zilch with a fresh contract starting at £35 per month (7 Mozart) / £40 per month (Omnia 7). Jealous, North America?
Samsung Transform review
With Epic 4G styling, a front-facing camera and a $150 post-rebate price, it’s easy to mistake the Samsung Transform for a high-end phone. Don’t. The reality is that it’s a evolution of Samsung’s mid-range Moment and Intercept more than anything else — you’re paying an additional $50 here to get a front-facing camera, an LED flash and a few welcome tweaks, but the same ho-hum performance plus a few new annoyances to boot. Where does it improve and where does it fail? Find out in our full review. Read more

HTC HD7 vs Samsung Omnia 7
Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 is finally here, complete with a selection of handsets to choose from. HTC’s flagship phone is the HD7 which is similar to the Android-based HTC Desire and is being widely tipped as the one to watch. However, Samsung’s Omnia 7 is sure be a serious contender as well with a similarly featured spec list. One, thing is certain – the two flagship handsets from the big players will have to battle it out to see who comes out as top dog. But which one wins the spec-off? There’s only one way to find out.
