HTC One Remix tipped by Evleaks for Verizon, Samsung SM-N910 pegged for Sprint and U.S. Cellular
A good leak or tip can certainly get the juices flowing. They also get the mind spinning off in a multitude of potential directions. One the more reliable tipsters out there, @Evleaks, does a killer job at keeping various images and tips rolling out of his, obviously, insanely connected world. Today he pushed out a few nuggets of info that certainly got our brains spinning in circles. Of course these are only leaks, but @Evleaks has a great track record so we believe that they are fairly likely.
Earlier this morning he put up a simple little image that said “HTC One Remix” with the text reading “Coming to Verizon.” It would seem that Verizon will be picking up another variant of the HTC one. Sprint did it with the HTC One Harmon-Kardon edition, so why shouldn’t Verizon have their own “special” edition of the device too? The name certainly sounds music related, but we are doubtful it will be a Harmon-Kardon build, but it could be. Beat’s is certainly out of the question at this point and the only other real “thing” going on in sound is the new Samsung headphones, so that is out, and the old standby of Dolby Digital. We know there was a red HTC One image tipped as a Verizon version, it is possible that could turn out to be the Remix, but the color change wouldn’t be enough for a rebranded name change. PhoneArena dug in a little more and found the above image attached to a trademark filling with the USPTO. It doesn’t offer up much info though.
If we go beyond the HTC One in general, a finger could be pointed towards the remix being the HTC One Prime. That could make a little more sense really. We certainly hope that is doesn’t point to the HTC One Mini 2. Then again, with all the missing things in the smaller HTC One Mini 2, a music addition to spice it up could make for a solid ‘Remix’ platform. A lot of questions come from this and not a lot of answers can be had easily until Verizon makes the announcement.
The second bit of info from @Evleaks today tipped towards a Samsung SM-N910. It is supposedly showing up for Sprint and U.S. Cellular and is being point towards as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It lines up based on the previous Note 3 listings being N900A (AT&T), N900T (T-Mobile) and so on. He also mentions that it is headed to AT&T also and that all three are swinging in with 32GB storage capacity too. hopefully that is the base and and not the high side option. Personally I am over 16GB devices, 32GB needs to be the standard.
So, have at it. Speculate and chat about the info and have fun with it.

Samsung issues ‘deep apology’ over illnesses and deaths of factory workers
Samsung has admitted it didn’t respond quickly enough to deal with illnesses and deaths of workers at its Korean semiconductor plants, Yonhap News reports. Following a string of recent accidents at its manufacturing facilities and an ongoing dispute over hazardous working conditions, which may have caused over fifty employees to contract leukemia and other incurable diseases, Samsung CEO Kwon Oh-hyun has gone on record to issue an official apology. “We should have settled the issue earlier,” admitted Kwon. “We are deeply heartbroken that we failed to do so and express our deep apology.” In a bid to put things right, Samsung says it will employ a third party to “make due compensation” to victims and their families. The company also intends to bring in a outside agency to conduct health and safety inspections of its chip plants to stop similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Details uncovered for Samsung’s 13.3-inch tablet, and Super AMOLED tablets

More info has surfaced on the rumours that Samsung are developing three new Tablet devices, two of which have AMLOED screens but all three will have a WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) screen resolution with 3G and WiFi versions in the pipe line.
Codenamed “Chagall”, this first device could be the Galaxy Tab S with its super AMLOED screen being 10.5″ in size and running with either flavours of the Exynos 5 chipset which are reported to boast 1.9GHz four Cortex-A15 cores or four Cortex-A7 cores. To help with keeping the device running smoothly, 32-bit dual-channel 933MHz LPDDR3e RAM is on the list along with graphics being handled by an hexa-core Mali-T628 GPU.

The final two devices with the codename of “Klimt” & “Warhol” will be of similar spec as the first but will see “Klimt” with a super AMOLED screen of only 8.4″ in size. Meanwhile the “Warhole is set to be more impressive with its, possible LCD and not AMOLED, 13.3″ screen size which could see it be a high-end Samsung device something along the lines of a Galaxy Tab Pro.
Android 4.4 KitKat will be power all three Tablets with Samsung’s software customisation.

Samsung and Seagate teaming up to make the Samsung Wireless, 1.5TB Wi-Fi storage and Battery
The one wireless storage solution to rule them all. That’s what Samsung and Seagate are hoping to get out of teaming up to produce the Samsung Wireless. The basis for the device is a $179 portable hard drive that works as a USB and Wi-Fi hard drive, a portable battery and has 1.5 terabytes of storage. Interested? We are too.
The device is said to be able to maintain 5 mobile connections via its Wi-Fi storage, and will also be able to be used as a standard USB 3.0 hard drive. Plus, if you are able to plug your Samsung Wireless into your router, you will be able to utilize it this way also. Detailed specifications are yet to be formally released, but the device is said to be able to useable as a portable storage unit for up to 7 hours when powered on.
Besides the battery life, there aren’t many release date or availability details about the Samsung Wireless, but it looks like it should be soon as the Samsung Wireless companion app is already live on the Google Play Store (You can download it here if you want, but it’s not going to do you much good without a Samsung Wireless).

New LG G Pad Series tablets in 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1-inch variants: looks like Samsung was onto Something
Not many people will admit that Samsung is right about its market strategy; with device coming out of their ears, it feels like Samsung is often trying to get its fingers into too many pies. However, it looks like Samsung might have been right about the tablet market, at least implicitly, with LG announcing new LG G Pad Series tablets in 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1-inch variants, which will replace the outgoing G Pad 8.3 and come in the same sizes that Samsung is launching its Galaxy Tab 4 tablets in.
Speaking about the new line of tablets, Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile, says that they have rethought their G Pad series:
“Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritize portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible.”
Or in other words, the G Pad 8.3 should not have been their only tablet entry last year. With the market share that the G Pad 8.3 did garner, LG is hoping to build upon that with their new tablets which will feature trademark LG user experiences like Qpair 2.0 (a feature introduced on the G Pad 8.3) and Knock Code. Prices and specifications have yet to be announced, however we aren’t expecting anything too posh as these tablets are likely competing with Samsung in the mid-range tablet market.
What do you think about LG’s strategy to launch three new tablets in familiar fashion? Would you consider getting one? Let us know your opinion in the comments.

Galaxy S5 Mini Dual SIM undergoing testing in India
There have been multiple leaks of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini (SM-G800) recently but with contrasting information. Some leaks referred to Snapdragon 400 processor while others referred to Snapdragon 800 processor. According to previous leaks, yet another variant of Galaxy S5 Mini (SM-G800A) would come with a much more powerful, Snapdragon 800 processor.

Samsung may soon launch Tizen phones in Russia and India
Remember Samsung’s Tizen operating system? It’s not a household name, but it did make an appearance on the second wave of Galaxy Gear devices. We’re still waiting for a full-fledged phone running the open-source OS, though, and we may just see one this year. According to sources who spoke with the Wall Street Journal, Samsung will launch a Tizen handset in Russia “in the coming weeks,” and a Tizen device will reach India soon after. While that’s about it in terms of details, one thing is clear: Samsung will look outside the US and Europe to get its fledgling operating system off the ground and into phones.

Samsung Galaxy S5 sells 10 million units in 25 days, beats Galaxy S4 by 2 Days
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a lot of expectation to live up to; it’s predecessors have been the best selling smartphones of all time and for it not to join that list would make it one colossal failure for Samsung. To put it in perspective, the Galaxy S4 sold 10 million units in its first 27 days, easily eclipsing the Galaxy S3 for the fastest mark. Well, the Galaxy S5 has now been out for a month now, so how fast exactly did it reach the mark? Korean news website Hankyung is reporting that the Galaxy S5 actually reached 10 million sales after just 25 days, narrowly (but still impressively) beating out its predecessor.
If true, this figure is an incredibly impressive figure considering the already existing saturation of the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3. What’s unusual is that Samsung itself isn’t reporting this news as the Korean tech giant is often first to boast about its sales figures, though that might just be because they are preparing a formal statement about it. Regardless, it looks like the general public aren’t as critical of the device as the critics have been and it looks like the Galaxy S5 still has a very bright future ahead of it yet.

Samsung pushes throttle with EVO-series SSD and Facebook game [Review]

Last year we accepted Samsung’s challenge that claimed anyone would be capable of installing a solid-state drive. Taking apart my HP laptop was a frightening prospect but proved to be quite simple. The folks at Samsung have since launched their new EVO-series of SSD’s and I, once again, got my hands on one. Having upgraded to a more powerful laptop, the prospect of taking a screwdriver to it wasn’t any less clammy-hand inducing. I did it, however, and can tell you that speed is the name of Samsung’s game.

I’ve included the specs, below, but will try to spare you the minutiae of every improvement. What I will tell you is that Samsung has improved speed and performance with the 840 series. Already having a solid-state drive installed, the EVO SSD netted less dramatic results than you’ll experience if coming from an HDD. I did notice a much snappier response-time when installing software, during boot-up, and especially during video editing.
Samsung has also launched their new time-killer on Facebook, “The Fastest Game on Earth!”. Testing your response-time qualifies you for a daily chance at winning a 250GB 840 EVO. They’re giving away 50 of these bad-boys so get to clicking. https://www.facebook.com/SamsungSSD/app_299938406836487
You’re not using a CRT monitor and you’re certainly not loading up floppy-drives anymore so there’s really no excuse to be using archaic HDD’s either. I’ve gone SSD and refuse to look back. If you’re contemplating doing the same, my mileage with Samsung has given me no reason to look elsewhere.
