HTC One successor due in late March – Bloomberg

The successor to the HTC One will arrive in late March, according to a source close to Bloomberg. Expected to feature a display of 5-inches or larger, the handset is also alleged to offer a twin-sensor rear camera which improves focus and image quality. Reportedly, the device will employ “Qualcomm Inc.’s later Snapdragon processor”, likely the Snapdragon 805 announced toward the end of 2013.

As for the name, it appears HTC may potentially leave things alone and go with the same branding. Perhaps they’ll market it as the “new HTC One” or something that alerts consumers that it’s the new version of the flagship. Works for Apple and the iPad, right?

This Prototype was Almost the HTC One

htcone-prototype- 1

The HTC One is on the top of the list on numerous tech websites for best designed phone of 2013. But that design almost wasn’t going to be what the HTC was going to go with for their beloved HTC One. Turns out, there was a whole other design for the One, and Engadget got their hands on a prototype HTC One, taking a slew of images of it.

Kind of resembled an HTC DROID DNA, but a little wider. No front-facing speakers, which ended up being a huge selling point in the actual design. So check out all the images, and let us know if you like this design more than the actual design.

Champagne Gold HTC One pops off in Vegas, baby

https://i0.wp.com/o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/56434266ae93fe4a695c0751c47adff4/DSC09528.jpg

We’re here at CES, and what should we spy but HTC’s “Champagne Gold” version of its flagship. Unlike the edition crafted for the MOBO awards, this one ditches the 18-carat shell in favor of a finish that, up close and personal, is actually a little classier than the real thing. We’ve taken some snaps of the handset just because we know that you’re curious to see it in the real, but we should warn you of a couple of downsides. First up, it’s not coming to the US, at least not in its current form, and secondly, with the HTC One coming up to its first birthday, it’s not likely to be favorite son for too much longer, you know?

Nearly full set of specs detailed for HTC One+ (M8)

It seems that a day can’t go by without even more details about the successor to the HTC One coming out.

The latest in the rumors suggest that the new flagship, supposedly called the HTC One+, will feature a: 5-inch 1080p display covered by Gorilla Glass 3, a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 805 processor, 6 MP or 8 MP rear-facing camera with UltraPixel™ technology and double lens, 2.1 MP front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, NFC, 2900mAh battery and a micro-SIM.

Two other rumored features that make this a very interesting device is that HTC may be going with on-screen navigation buttons and it will run Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense™ 6.0.

We previously reported that it’s widely expected to launch sometime in Q1 of 2014, but we may even see this at CES 2014, who knows. If that’s the case, you will see any info here once it’s available.

HTC M8 camera might feature not one, but two lenses

As we prepare to learn more about the successor to the HTC One, new details are slowly starting to appear. The latest bit of information surrounding the HTC M8 is that it will carry not one, but two different lenses. The setup is rumored to allow for better photos in both low light, and regular lightning scenarios, according to Forbes.

Each lens will be dedicated to lightning conditions, hoping to improve photos in the low light conditions that are known to result in very poor smartphone photos. It’s a weakness I, for one, welcome being addressed.

Also noted in the report is the addition of a fingerprint app, similar to what’s already found in the HTC One Max.

It’s widely expected the HTC M8 will launch sometime in Q1 of 2014. But with CES just days away, who knows what can happen. As always, more details about the M8 and its dual-lens system will be published here once they are available.

HTC One 2/M8 ‘Preliminary’ Specs Leak Out

 htcone2-m8-specs

The HTC One 2, or M8, has been on us tech enthusiasts minds, simply because we want to see where HTC takes their HTC One line. Yes, HTC doesn’t make the best decisions in the world, but they do make excellent devices. Being that the HTC One is number one on most tech sites lists of best devices in 2013, the HTC One 2 should no doubt be a winner as well.

Leak king, evleaks, sent out a tweet about the HTC One 2, giving us “preliminary” specs of the new phone. Preliminary as in these specs are not official, and could change once the phone is announced.

Sadly these specs aren’t reporting that the new HTC flagship will be running the latest Snapdragon processor. Not a huge deal, but it is nice to know that the device you purchase has the latest and greatest in technology. Other than that, the specs look pretty decent, so let us know your thoughts about the new HTC One. Once we find out more about these specs, we will let you know.

Possible 3D Model of the HTC One 2/M8 Photographed

htcone2-m8-3dmodel

The HTC One 2, or M8, has possibly been caught on camera. It looks like HTC has decided to jump into the soap bar business, how about that? HTC One soap? Sign me up for that.Wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to do that, but of course this is just a 3D 1:1 scale model of the supposed HTC One 2 made purely out of wax.

This comes from a Chinese blog named weibo.com, but the images have been taken down by the person who posted them. I am sure he got some heat from it, even though the model looks almost identical to the regular HTC One. Other than this image you see above, we have no further information about the new flagship phone at this time.

The little bit of information we do have about the HTC One sequel, is that it might be unveiled as early as February of next year. Rumored specs have also been floating around as well, but we got to be patient and wait for the actual confirmed specs. Don’t you hate that word, patient?  Let us know if you are excited for the HTC one follow-up, and also chime in on the HTC One Soap bar you see above.
