LG G3 running Android 5.0 Lollipop has leaked

Android 5.0 Lollipop has been officially announced since October 15th, and we have already seen plenty of devices sporting the newest version of Android. Some of those devices include the Galaxy S5, Moto X (2014), Xperia Z3, and the HTC One M8. The latest device to get its dosage of Lollipop is the LG G3.
The latest leak of the G3 running Lollipop is from a Vietnamese source and it is good to see how LG will incorporate their UI into the new update. You can see in the images that LG still uses the old navigation bar soft-keys. It could be that this is just an early build, or LG has decided against the new triangle, circle, and square buttons seen on the Nexus devices.
It is also worth noting that LG still has the same icons in the notification panel, such as the battery, Wi-Fi, mobile signal, etc. From there on out it is Lollipop through in through, such as the new drop down notification panel with its opacity and the multitasking menu.
Although there’s no expected date for the LG G3 update it could definitely receive it before the end of the year. The G3 is LG’s best selling phone and they definitely want to keep up with the competition. The leaked images of the device can be seen below.

[VIDEO] Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the Moto X Pure Edition looks amazing in 9 minute demo
Yesterday, there was talk of Motorola pre-emptively putting up pages for soak tests of the Android Lollipop update to the Moto X and Moto G. Of course, those pages have since been taken down, but today we have something even better to share. Droid-life has managed to get their hands on the soak test itself which shows Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the Moto X Pure Edition and have even captured the update for those who are lucky enough to have the Pure Edition of the Moto X (2nd gen). Check out the 9 minute video below which details a lot of the changes that come with this latest update:
As you can probably see, both Google and Motorola have made quite a few changes since their last software iteration. Naturally, the Lollipop update overhauls the entire interface of Android itself, but Motorola appears to have also streamlined its presence in areas like notifications and gestures. It’s definitely an impressive showing, and is a great tease of things to come for Motorola devices and presumably also Nexus devices seeing as Motorola’s devices run almost stock Android software.
What do you think of Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the Moto X Pure Edition? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

10 of the hottest new Android apps this week (November 8)

Welcome back to the regular series aimed at helping Android users get more from their devices. If you’re looking for some new Android apps or games check out we have a handful of popular new titles to get you started. What you’ll find below are some of the hottest trending apps of the last seven days. We’re certain you will find something fun to play with this weekend. Let’s get to it!
NOTE: THIS ARTICLE IS SPLIT INTO TO PAGES.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Play Store Description: “The Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare App gives fans the amazing tools they need to create and manage their clan, produce in game player and clan emblems, and participate in Clan Wars on the go from their tablet or mobile device. The new Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare App takes the Clan experience to a whole new level.”
We say: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the most recently released title from C.O.D. on the major consoles, and it seems they want to take over your phone as well. It seems that the mobile app will interact with your console game, allowing you to win loot and experience without having to be home. It already has over 100,000 downloads with a decent 3.6 stars in the Play Store, so check it out.
Disney Movies Anywhere
Play Store Description: “With Disney Movies Anywhere, you can enjoy your Disney, Pixar and Marvel movies anywhere you go. It’s free to join — no subscription needed. And when you sign up and connect your digital movie accounts, you get a FREE movie on us! You also get exclusive videos, special offers, and earn reward points for all your eligible digital purchases. And it’s great for kids, with parental controls built right in.”
We say: The popular iOS app has made its way onto the Play Store. I believe you get Wreck-It Ralph as the free movie, which is not bad at all. The great thing about this app is if you buy a Disney movie physically, you can redeem a digital version with a code in the movie’s case. Seems to work well, as it has 4.2 Stars in the Play Store. Next thing I’ll be looking for is Chromecast support.
Music Maniac – Mp3 Downloader
Play Store Description: “Download Copyleft music legally with Music Maniac – Mp3 Downloader!
The best free and legal way to download music onto your phone. Enjoy royalty free music from royalty free search engines such as Jamendo.”
We say: This app you should use at your own digression. We don’t condone downloading music illegally, just sharing a popular new app. This app claims it only gets royalty free music, which is good. Just be aware of what you’re doing. Anyways, currently has 4.6 stars in the Play Store, so it must work well.
Music Download Paradise Mp3
Play Store Description: “Music Download Paradise Mp3 is a free music LEGAL downloader
Enjoy Creative Commons and royalty free music for free with the best music downloader for Android.”
We say: Evidently this is the week for free music download apps. The same thing applies to this app as the one before. Use at your own risk. This one doesn’t mention loyalty free music, just says that it’s legal. It also has 4.6 stars in the Play Store.
HKTV – TV & Shopping platform
Play Store Description: ““Always Something New”
HKTV provides a unique “Shoppertainment” experience for
Hong Kong people to enjoy TV entertainment and online shopping at same time.”
We say: This one goes out to our friends in Hong Kong! I’m going to be perfectly honest here, I’m not sure I understand this one. You can watch TV and shop at the same time. I don’t understand the draw, but it currently has 5 stars in the Play Store, so maybe it’s good. Check it out with the widget below.

ASUS’ ZenWatch comes to the US on November 9th for $199
If you’ve been jonesing for a square Android Wear smartwatch that’s slightly more stylish than what’s currently on offer, your wait is just about over. ASUS has announced that the ZenWatch will reach the US on November 9th, when it’ll sell through Best Buy for $199; it’ll also be available through Google Play at a later date. That’s a pretty alluring price for wristwear that’s not only fairly sleek looking, but goes above and beyond Android Wear’s usual features, such as double-tapping the screen to launch a pre-assigned task. While a lot of what’s under the hood will be familiar if you’ve tried earlier Google-powered wearables, ASUS’ stand-out design could make it worth a closer look.

Verizon XLTE-Ready Ellipsis 8 now available

Last year during the same time, Verizon introduced the Verizon Ellipsis 7 and now, they introduced its successor – Verizon Ellipsis 8. It is not a high-end Android tablet, but it is XLTE ready which means you will be able to enjoy Verizon’s super fast internet. There are some other changes under the hood as well.
The tablet comes with an 8-inch display with HD resolution (1280×800), 1.5GHz quad-core processor, a 5 megapixel camera, 5000 mAh battery, and hopefully Android 4.4. The battery will run for 14.51 hours (that’s some calculation by Verizon), so it can be said that it is pretty good for everyday use. Verizon Messages app is pre-installed as well, and you can expect other Verizon software in it too.
It will be available for $249.99 without any contract, and for $149.99 if you get it with a 2-year deal. You can also lease it with Verizon Edge for $10.41-a-month over 24 months. Are you planning to grab it? Don’t forget to tell us in the comment box below.

OnePlus sets sights on 1 million sales of One

As we’ve talked about before, the OnePlus One is a very interesting device. It provides flagship level specs for a mid-range phone price (starting at $299). On top of that, it’s the only smartphone with just Cyanogenmod running on it, providing all sorts of customization that runs even deeper than vanilla Android. OnePlus has even promised to have the newest version of Android on the One within 90 days (the clock is ticking by the way). However, you can only get one through an invite or pre-ordering system. Nevertheless, this combination seems to be doing well for a company that started less than a year ago.
OnePlus has sold 500,000 One units
Forbes had the opportunity to talk with OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei, who said that they’ve sold 500,000 OnePlus One units. However, that isn’t enough, as Pei says they’re shooting to sell 1 million units by year’s end. Says Pei “It’s going to be hard, but I think it’s possible.”
This would be great, if they’d only just allow people to buy them…
