Cloud Chasers: a moving game that tackles issues with immigration while staying fun

There’s plenty of time-killers out there, but very few games manage to spark emotion like the upcoming Cloud Chasers – A Journey of Hope title will. This game comes from Blindflug Studios, which is also responsible for First Strike, a title which encompasses the problems with nuclear warfare. The team is not short on social issues, and this time around they are targeting immigration.
This is an issue that affects plenty of countries and communities, but the topic really hits close to home to us United States residents. Especially for those of us who live along the border, where struggle, laws and sometimes even death are part of the harsh reality we must face on the daily. It’s not an easy conversation… ever. But Cloud Chasers manages to bring consciousness in a very light-hearted manner, and we have to give them props for that.

Cloud Chasers – A Journey of Hope tells the story of Francisco and his daughter Amelia, a couple of immigrants in search of a better life beyond the desert, in a world above the clouds where the privileged live. Of course, just like in real life, this promised land is not easy to reach. There are robots guarding the desert and trying to stop you from reaching their cities. Users must also worry about survival and collect water in order to keep moving. You will depend on Amelia’s fun glider to accomplish that.
Guide a small family through five deadly deserts to reach the gateway to the world above the clouds. It’s a dangerous journey filled with a multitude of unique narrative encounters. Make your decisions wisely, manage your resources, use equipment to your advantage and fill up your precious water reserves by flying through the clouds with your trusty glider.
Explore a randomly generated steampunk world that will not only tell you the story of a wondrous desert planet and its inhabitants, but also show the topic of migration from a completely new perspective.
The game accomplishes a fun experience while keeping a heart-warming story, artistic visuals and engrossing music. It will tingle your senses, make you smile and sometimes even squeeze your heart a little.

Now, let’s get to the real question – when can we get Cloud Chasers? I will be downloading it as soon as it hits the Google Play Store, which will be this Thursday (October 15). You can also get it from the Amazon App Store and the Apple App Store (just in case you are into that kind of stuff).
We haven’t gotten any details on pricing yet, but First Strike is worth $3.99. We assume Cloud Chasers will cost about the same. I say it’s worth the price for such a well elaborated game, though. You will also feel better knowing they will donate a share of the revenue to the MOAS (Migrant Offshore Aid Station).
Who else is downloading Cloud Chasers?!
Google loves working with LG on Nexus smartphones
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Google and LG have already collaborated on several Nexus smartphones – the Nexus 5X is their third outing together – and there’s a very good reason why. According to Dave Burke, Vice President of Android Engineering at Google, Google loves working with LG and have built up quite the rapport over the years.
“LG Electronics is the best partner for us in engineering the Nexus smartphones. We share the same approach to the mobile device market with LG Electronics.”
“Our engineers really like to work with the people at LG Electronics. Together they have become an excellent team.”
High praise indeed. Of all the manufacturers that Google has worked with, LG has come back the most number of times, and Burke’s comments surely indicate that there will be more from the Google-LG partnership in the years to come. What’s particularly impressive about their work together this time around is that LG was able to add a fingerprint scanner to the back of the Nexus 5X with a minimum of fuss, despite the fact that none of LG’s own devices have this feature.
What do you think about Dave Burke’s comments about the relationship between Google and LG? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Wii U emulator (almost) runs ‘Mario Kart 8’ on your PC
Want a Wii U but don’t want to own Nintendo’s latest console? That’s sort of possible now. I emphasize the “sort of” because the recently released Cemu emulator is almost entirely broken at this point. There isn’t proper gamepad support, there’s absolutely no audio and the game video stutters and glitches pretty badly in most cases if the titles launch at all. For example, in Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD‘s attract mode (the opening menu screen), little Toon Link looks he has some seriously Donnie Darko-esque energy tubes coming out of his chest, stretching far out from his cliffside overlook on Outset Island. Peep it in the video embedded below. “Contains basically no optimizations,” the download page reads. “Expect slow frame rates and long load times.”
It’s still very early days for the program, but the developers are planning on sending updates every two weeks. You’ll need a 64-bit Windows 7 (or higher) machine with an NVIDIA card and the most recent driver set to get started. Oh, and some patience. But who knows, with some time, this could turn into something as cool as the vaunted Dolphin emulator that runs Gamecube games in pretty stunning high def. For now though, you’re better off with a Wii U if you want to play Super Mario Maker.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere chimes in on AT&T customer service scandal

T-Mobile CEO John Legere is like some kind of pink panther stalking its pray. He has been known to attack all competing carriers, but is especially fond of trolling AT&T whenever possible. His comical and sarcastic humor is what keeps us following his social media adventures, so you can be sure all eyes were pointed towards the CEO’s Twitter account today, as AT&T went through one of the largest customer service scandals we have seen in a while.
The LA Times uncovered a story about 35-year old Alfred Valrie, who experienced first-hand what it was like to send AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson a simple, innocent suggestion to improve his services by offering unlimited data for DSL users and 1,000 text messages for $10 a month (or 500 for $7). Instead of a simple “thanks”, the response to Alfred’s proposal came in the form of a letter from AT&T’s legal team.

“AT&T has a policy of not entertaining unsolicited offers to adopt, analyze, develop, license or purchase third-party intellectual property … from members of the general public…. Therefore, we respectfully decline to consider your suggestion.” -AT&T legal team
It seems there’s a reason for such cold responses to customer suggestions. After LA Times reached out to AT&T, assuming it was all some sort of mistake, he received an answer that confirmed the carrier’s position.
“In the past, we’ve had customers send us unsolicited ideas and then later threaten to take legal action, claiming we stole their ideas,” she explained. “That’s why our responses have been a bit formal and legalistic. It’s so we can protect ourselves.” -AT&T
John Legere’s response
Of course, the change in tone didn’t stop John Legere from chiming in. T-Mobile released a press release (such elaborated trolling!) shaming AT&T for the way in which they would approach a simple concern from a lifelong customer.
In this response, T-Mobile tells consumers they are always welcome to contact their CEO at John.Legere@T-Mobile.com with all their issues, comments, suggestions or complaints. But of course, Magenta didn’t stop there. They are also welcoming AT&T subscribers to send an email to IdeasForRandall@T-Mobile.com, telling them what the carrier could to to improve its services. You can also use #IdeasforRandall on Twitter and mention @JohnLegere
T-Mobile will then list all the issues they have already fixed and send them to Randall… along with his lawyers.
“It absolutely amazes me that Randall would tell a lifelong customer to basically go away and talk to my lawyers. I interact with customers on a daily basis so I can hear their ideas firsthand. It’s called living in the 21st century.” -John Legere, CEO at T-Mobile
Wrapping up
So there you have it, guys! We have had our fair share of carrier drama today; once again, courtesy of almighty John Legere. Go have fun on Twitter with him and hit the comments to let us know what you think about this whole PR pandemonium. How would you feel if your carrier reacted like this to an innocent letter?

Save yourself money and get CHOETECH’s fast Wireless charging pad (Review)
As more devices are sold with Qi wireless charging built-in, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6, S6 Edge and so on, the need for wireless charging grows. Wireless charging is one of those features you have lived without since you have owned mobile phones, but once you go wireless it is really hard to go back. So for many of you who have wireless charging compatible devices, now is the time to give it a try.
Qualcomm’s Quick charge revolutionized charging last year as it drastically reduced charge times on our devices. With 15-30 minutes of charging many devices could go half a day without having to recharge again. Fast charging made wireless chargers a nice-to-have feature, because the ability to fast charge overruled the desire to wireless charge devices. Wireless chargers were just too slow.
Come 2015 and we now have access to fast wireless charging thanks to Samsung. That doesn’t mean you have to pay Samsung’s high prices though for their charger. CHOETECH is here to offer a high-quality alternative to fast wireless charging with their latest Wireless Charging Pad. This pad is currently compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge plus which have fast wireless charging as a feature, and it is also capable of standard wireless charging for other compatible devices. Lets check it out.
Design & Usage
Like all other CHOETECH accessories I have reviewed, the Fast Wireless Charger Pad is of the highest quality. It is a thin disk shape made from durable plastic and metal with a rubber ring on the bottom and top to prevent slippage on surfaces as well as creating a grip for your smartphone. This addition of these rubber rings may seem insignificant, but considering the Note 5 and S6 edge plus are made from glass, I really don’t want my devices slipping off my nightstand from simple bumps. Nothing would ruin my night more than seeing a crack in my Note 5.
CHOETECH also added green LED lights to the front of the charger to show when it is fast charging, and blue LED lights for when it is charging a device at standard speed. I know lights are just lights, but it is really cool. To top it off, CHOETECH included a light sensor which dims the LED lights as there is less light in the room in order not to disturb your sleep. And it doesn’t just turn the LED lights off, it actually dims the LED lights matching the light level in the room. For a third party device, I was thoroughly impressed.
The green LED lights weren’t your typical super bright green- they were more of a standard grass colored green(I apologize for my lack of color palette knowledge). I actually thought the choice of green was a nice change from the super bright LED’s that we are so used to these days. It looked rather sophisticated on my nightstand.
In order to take advantage of fast wireless charging you will need a Quick Charge 2.0 wall charger which CHOETECH provided me with and can be purchased from Amazon.com as a package saving you even more money.
I found this latest wireless charger from CHOETECH to be my favorite of all of the ones I have used so far. With every generation of product they just keep getting better.

I was shocked at how much I needed fast wireless charging in my life. Less waiting for charging is one of those things you get used to rather quickly. Having the CHOETECH Fast Wireless Charging Pad for my Note 5 made me realize it was time to give away the other wireless chargers in my household. From now on it is fast wireless charging or wall charging only. At $34.99 you can save yourself %50 by getting this charger versus Samsung’s official fast wireless charging pad. Add in the ability to not disturb my sleep with the ambient light sensor, I can see myself using this charger for a long time to come. Samsung is relocating its European headquarters to Warsaw, Poland
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Poland isn’t an unfamiliar place to Samsung – most of its software updates are tested and released there first. As it turns out, it’s going to be much more than that as Samsung is relocating its European headquarters to Warsaw, Poland, from its previous hub in London, serving as its new base in Europe. Whether this is a symbolic move or a sign of things to come is not quite clear, but it can’t be good when Samsung’s sales in Europe are down around 20% year-on-year, down from 52.67 trillion won to 42.95 trillion won.
It’s been suggested that this move is signalling Samsung’s de-prioritization of its Europe business due to these financial hardships, and instead doubling down on its business in Asia. We might have seen signs of this earlier this year when Samsung sheepishly denied Europe access to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, instead offering only the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ there. This might have been just coincidence, but the fact that Samsung is moving might be something to pay attention to. Or not.
What do you think about Samsung moving its European headquarters to Poland? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

MIT’s online master’s courses sound like an incredible deal
Move over University of Phoenix, MIT has announced that you can now obtain a highly-regarded Masters degree in Supply Chain Management (mainly) online. The new 14-week credential is called a MicroMaster’s and will be open to anyone and once completed students can get a verified certificate documenting their hard work for a small fee. Undertaken via edX, it is the first MITx course that can be put towards the full masters program, meaning the remainder of the course is only one on-campus semester. “The new combination of online courses and one residential semester will open the SCM program to many more learners,” said Professor Yossi Sheffi who runs the SCM program and its online components. By making it open to anyone for free the college is recruiting those who are determined and driven, but aren’t sure they can afford a traditional Master’s program.
