Deezer expands podcasts and talk radio to bolster its streaming library
After nabbing podcast company Stitcher in late 2014, Deezer added the listening material to its own service earlier this year. Now, the streaming option is filling out its library and adding some to features to make the experience a bit more enjoyable. First, Deezer’s lineup of podcasts and talk radio now totals 40,000, doubling the previous tally. The library of shows includes programming from the likes of NPR and CBS News with sports coverage from TalkSport (in the UK and Germany) and more. Next, the company’s apps have some new tools for podcast listening. There are playlist and sharing options now, as well as offline listening for Premium Plus subscribers that’ll allow access during a flight or other times a connection isn’t available.

Honda’s latest mobility vehicle has space for two passengers
If you thought Honda’s Unicub was all a little bit lonely, perhaps its Wanderstand is the conceptual mobility vehicle of your dreams. With space for two, passengers half-sit/half-stand in the frame which Honda plans to be autonomously driven. Most of the driving and navigation controls will be voice-based. Its’s about half the weight of a small car, but the chances (and timeframe) of the vehicle becoming reality will be decided by both progress in autonomous driving technology and the legal status of vehicles not driven by humans. However, the most interesting part of this autonomous vehicle is its dimensions: it’s taller than it is long — and there’s a few reasons for that. Slideshow-336261
Befriend a bear or get killed by it in PS4-exclusive ‘Wild’
When Michel Ancel, creator of Rayman, first demoed Wild, the PlayStation 4-exclusive game set in a lush Neolithic world of ancient tribes and animals, it was generally met with raves. After nearly a year, however, gamers actually want to know how it plays. At Sony’s Paris Games Week event, Ancel replied in the best way possible: By showing you could ride a freaking bear. In Wild, you can also take control of animals and play as them, summon spirits and walk (or swim) around the vast open world. But before any bear-riding happens, you’ll need to get savvy about your environment. As Ancel explained in his charming French accent, “For hours and hours at the beginning of the game, you will be killed by the bears.”
Siri will soon control Music on the new Apple TV
With the new Apple TV landing on customers’ doorsteps in the coming days, the company will finally join its streaming rivals in offering universal search (with a little help from Siri). Right now, the voice-activated assistant can perform its duties on movies and TV shows, although BuzzFeed reports that Apple extend the same functionality to Music from the beginning of next year.

I played through ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ solo and hated it
This article contains spoilers. Proceed at your own risk.
Halo 5: Guardians is not the Halo you remember. It’s a different kind of game altogether, something that more closely resembles a modern first-person shooter that focuses on multiplayer rather than a strong solo experience. This isn’t the first time that’s happened, but it is the first time in 11 years that a new Halo campaign feels like a massive step backwards compared to its predecessor. Microsoft-owned studio 343 Industries is capable of better than this and proved as much with its killer freshman effort, Halo 4. But instead of addressing what it got wrong with that installment (i.e., an unexplained main villain) and doubling down on what it did right (i.e., an emotional storyline and constantly varying gameplay), the team fundamentally altered how a Halo campaign works to horrendous results.

Un-carrier X to give T-Mobile customers huge benefits when streaming video
If Evan Blass is to be believed, T-Mobile will soon allow unlimited high speed data for customers watching content from select video streaming services. Blass tweeted this morning that Team Magenta’s Un-carrier X move will make it possible for customers to never worry about hurting their swift data speeds by streaming video from services like Netflix or HBO. The carrier intends to keep its network operating at full capacity so that video streaming isn’t hindered by buffering or poor image quality.

MetroPCS adding Alcatel OneTouch’s new Fierce XL next week
There’s a new phone from Alcatel OneTouch coming to MetroPCS next week. On November 2, the carrier will add the Fierce XL to its lineup.
Alcatel OneTouch is still rolling with the Idol 3 as its flagship phone and that means the Fierce XL has mid-range specifications. This phone has a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display, Snapdragon 210 processor, 8MP / 2MP cameras, and a 2500mAh battery. The real kicker here is that the Fierce XL runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop behind Alcatel OneTouch’s own take on Google’s mobile operating system (which isn’t a bad thing). To enhance the phone’s Auto and HDR modes for photography, editing software from Polaroid is included.
Jon Maron, VP of Marketing and Communications for Alcatel OneTouch, pumped the phone’s value:
“A smartphone has to be more than a respectable list of specs, it has to deliver an engaging and value-focused consumer experience, and this is where Fierce XL delivers.”
MetroPCS will be joined by T-Mobile, its parent company, in selling the Fierce XL to customers sometime this winter. For now though, MetroPCS customers will be able to purchase the Fierce XL online and in stores for $139.

Motorola’s Moto X Force is here
Motorola has just announced the Moto X Force in a new video demonstrating its shatterproof display. The smartphone was leaked a couple months back, but we haven’t seen anything since, at least until now.
The Moto X Force seems to be strangely similar to the Droid Turbo 2. In fact, it is the Droid Turbo 2! Motorola took the Turbo 2 with the exact same specifications, and named it something else for other regions, as it’ll be available in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific.
Click here to view the embedded video.
Motorola made a video demonstrating its shatterproof display. As a quick rundown, Motorola president Rick Osterloh drops the iPhone 6S, Galaxy S6, and Moto X Force on a brick. The first two devices crack, and the Moto X Force doesn’t because of its shatterproof technology.
I’ll just say this: it’s a huge disappointment that the Droid Turbo 2 is a Verizon exclusive here in the US, as the Moto X Force is one nice device.
