Facebook is launching Search FYI for searching public content all across the site
Facebook has launched a new tool called Search FYI that indexes every piece of public content on the social media site. This means that when you’re searching Facebook, you’ll able to find posts from your friends and family, as well as public conversations people are having.
Search FYI also offers up personalized suggestions as you type, pretty similar to Google’s approach to web searching. These results are also time sensitive, so you should start seeing relevant news stories to whatever is currently happening. Combine that with the indexed public information, and you’ve got a pretty powerful tool for staying on top of current events and opinions.
