Upcoming Google Maps update will enable users to navigate to multiple destinations

Google has just published the contents of a rather nifty update it’s set to start rolling out to Maps for Android over the next few weeks. This upgrade will enable users to add stops to their journey, meaning they’ll be able to set a waypoint to a destination and get directions to a gas station en route, without having to reset their final port of call.

Here’s what Google had to say:

“When you’re driving in navigation mode and you get that call from your spouse to pick up some more milk on your drive home or if you’re on a road trip and want to find a great restaurant option along your route, simply tap the magnifying glass at the top right corner of the screen.

You’ll see a drop-down menu with helpful options, like gas stations, grocery stores, or restaurants. If the drop-down options aren’t what you need, you can always add a detour to your favorite coffee shop by tapping the search icon or by using voice commands.”

Are you looking forward to this update? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
