T-Mobile also working on number sync for one’s devices
Just yesterday we received confirmation that AT&T was working on a similar service offering users the ability to use his/her phone number across all of their devices. T-Mobile seems to have the same idea in mind and is also working on a solution.
Unfortunately, T-Mobile didn’t provide any details other than the fact it’s working hard to bring a solution to this very much wanted feature. However, T-Mobile did promise its idea is more versatile than what AT&T has in store.
According to Re/code, the following statement was made by Mike Sievert, operating chief of T-Mobile.
“What we are working on will make this version one offering from AT&T look small. Our strategy is to ask customers what they want and need, and then build it. AT&T’s is to build or buy things, and then try to convince customers they asked for it.”
This upcoming technology could help people link smartphones to a tablet or wearable device, keeping the phone number the same. A little, but must needed feature. Now that AT&T and T-Mobile are on-board, let’s see if Verizon and Sprint follow their lead.

Samsung smartphone shipments might experience first ever decline in 2015
According to a new report from TrendForce, 2015 could be the year of Samsung’s first ever decline in smartphone shipments.
Samsung still sits number one overall among smartphone manufacturers when it comes to shipments. However, a lead like this doesn’t last forever. Samsung’s market share is expected to take a hit in 2015 due to a slight decline in smartphone shipments. While the smartphone growth is still at a record high, other manufacturer’s such as Huawei, Xiaomi and Apple seem to be gaining some steam. TrendForce estimates that Samsung will ship a total of 323.5 million smartphones this year, which would mark a 1% decline from last year. Although not a major concern, it becomes a bigger issue when everyone else is on the rise when you’re on a decline.
Recent reports have indicated an increased desire for mid-range phones at affordable price points. Chinese manufacturers such as Huawei and Xiaomi have used this marketing concept to make a name for themselves. Both have seen marginal increases of up to 40% year-over-year. Each is expected to ship over 100 million handsets this year, which is a record for a Chinese manufacturer. Apple has also seen a 16% increase year-over-year due to its high demand for the larger iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets. Additionally, the company’s newly released iPhone 6s series looks to take things even further.
All the details can be seen at the source link down below.

Nexus 6P is experiencing delays in some markets
According to Mobile Syrup, the Nexus 6P launch has been delayed until November 2 in Canada. Additionally, pre-orders for the device were recently taken down.
If you’re in the United States, most variants of the Nexus 6P appear sold out, but there are still two color variants up for pre-order with 32GB of storage space. According to the report, the delay in Canada is primarily due to supply issues. Right now we can only hope the Nexus 6P shortage doesn’t impact other markets. The official launch date in Canada has been pushed back to November 2, however, those who managed to pre-order the device prior to the listing being taken down will likely get their device shortly after October 23 when the units are expected to ship.
Nexus 5X orders seem to be on time, and are scheduled to ship out on October 22 here in the United States. In the meantime, you can check out are recent posts on features missing from the Nexus 6P and what could have improved the Nexus 5X.

‘WarGames’ reboot will let you choose your own adventure
It’s been more than 30 years since Matthew Broderick, Ally Sheedy and a WOPR supercomputer named Joshua came close to triggering World War III in the hacker movie WarGames. The phrase “Shall we play a game?” still resonates with people today, but it may soon find a new audience after MGM, which owns the rights to the cult film, announced it’s getting a modern reboot. The studio has teamed up with interactive video company Interlude to create an “original interactive short drama,” turning WarGames into a Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) video with brand new characters and storyline.
In this modern take on the original, MGM and Interlude say they’ll fuse “the narrative of a compelling movie with the responsiveness of a great game.” Viewers will get to choose the outcome of certain scenes and affect the story as it progresses. If you’ve played TellTale’s episodic The Walking Dead games, then you’ll have some idea of what to expect.
If WarGames was a little before your time, let us bring you up to speed. The original movie was set during the Cold War and followed a young computer gamer (Matthew Broderick) who mistakenly hacks into the WOPR (War Operation Plan Response) supercomputer. Broderick thinks he’s playing a game with the computer, which is designed to calculate possible outcomes of nuclear war, and activates a simulation that almost triggers the real thing. It earned three Academy Award nominations.
There’s no word on how the new WarGames short will be packaged, but we do know that it’s set to land in early 2016. MGM and Interlude are already working on a story that will offer a different experience each time it is watched. If it proves successful, then who knows, we might get a new WarGames movie as well.

Bell Canada gets slapped for fake App Store reviews
Bell Canada has been handed down a $1.25 million CAD ($970,719) fine by Canada’s competition bureau after its employees posted fake reviews of Bell apps. According to the regulator, the carrier “encouraged” staff members to post glowing testimonials of the MyBell Mobile and Virgin My Account apps on the App Store and Google Play. Unfortunately, these overenthusiastic write-ups neglected to mention that they were written by people on Bell’s dollar. Oops.
The dodgy behavior was initially exposed by Scott Stratten, who was already well aware of the apps’ poor standing on iTunes. Suddenly, however, the rating skyrocketed thanks to a series of five-star reviews, and Stratten smelled a rat. After some digging on LinkedIn, he uncovered that the most praiseworthy mentions were all directors, marketing managers and other people paid by Bell Canada. Oooops.
The company admitted that certain employees had been encouraged to post the ratings, but as soon as bosses were made aware, they ended the practice. As part of the settlement, the firm has pledged to tighten up its compliance program, making sure every employee knows to hit no whenever they’re asked to review the app. The firm is also being forced to sponsor a workshop to “enhance Canadians trust in the digital economy,” which will probably open with a seminar on how not to get caught gaming your own app.

Volvo’s first fully electric car will arrive in 2019
Volvo’s been bullish about self-driving vehicles, but it’s much more coy when it comes to electric cars. The company’s latest XC90 has a hybrid edition, and there’s an existing V60 plug-in, but nothing fully electric. Finally, the Swedish auto-maker is ready to go all in, confirming an all-electric vehicle will go on sale in 2019, plus plans to offer hybrid versions of every car in its range, alongside a new “series 40” range of smaller electrified cars. That’s still quite a wait for the full EV, and the hybrids might not show up until 2017, but as the Wall Street Journal suggests, Volvo might have been spurred on to make the announcement by the recent VW scandal around diesel engines.
There aren’t many details about what the planned all-electric Volvo would look like, but reports suggest a saloon, similar in size to the S60, with a range of over 300 miles — putting it up against Tesla’s 2016 Model 3. However it turns out, Volvo’s chief executive, Hakan Samuelsson, seems confident people are ready for more than a little spark in their Scandinavian wagons, predicting 10-percent of Volvo sales will come from “electrified” version over the next 24 months.
