LG reportedly working on a new contact-less payment service of their own called ‘LG G Pay’
Samsung Pay, Android Pay, Apple Pay and now LG G Pay? According to a report from etnews, LG has begun prepping its own contact-less payment service called ‘LG G Pay.’ The company has filed an official trademark for the name in the U.S. and in South Korea. With this, LG is seeking to take on rivals in the wireless payment space.
Mobile payment systems are becoming mainstream in new smartphones and it looks like LG doesn’t want to be left out. LG G Pay might see a global launch as soon as the end of the year. LG wants to make its mobile payment system more versatile than competitors like Samsung Pay and others. However, at this point in time, no details pertaining to how LG plans to do this has been disclosed. One could expect the service to work with recent LG flagships such as the LG G4, LG V1o and LG G3.
